Thank you for the video. They didn't mention Milburn Stone who plays Capt. Pat Vickery. Stone played Doc Adams on Gun Smoke. Very cool! 🤗

I was reading today that Nigel Bruce (Dr. Watson), joined the British Armed Forces in 1914 and he was wounded in 1915 until declared medically unfit for further military service due to permanent damage to his legs in December 1915. In October 1916,he re-enlisted, receiving a commission in January 1917, as a subaltern of the Somerset Light Infantry Regiment, a home service battalion, with which he served as a training officer for the rest of 1917, the permanent infirmity of his 1915 wounds preventing further active service at the front.

I love this era of Sherlock Holmes. I'm also a fan of Robert Downey, Jr and Jude Law adaptarion of Holmes & Watson on the big screen. That is if they ever get around to filming S.H. 3.

Another brilliant film!! I Love what Rathbone says at the end of this one. And people truly believed. I think I can’t bear it any longer. I’m very angry and scared to death. So just look at what we have now - a sociopath who also thinks he’s irresistible, who will take from the people and give to the rich, who wants revenge, who exclaims he will be dictator for one!! day, who will put immigrants in “concentration” camps and separates children from their parents, who’s a Fascist, who wants to enslave women, who doesn’t care that unwanted and sick babies will have terrible lives. I hate and despise him. Heil t-Rump👹👹👹👹👹and his henchmen - Butch body and others who will do anything he wants!!!!! How idealistic people were in the 40’s and how idealistic we were in the ‘60’s . I don’t understand. Vote 💙! Vote 💙! Vote 💙! Vote 💙! 🌷🌱

Jeremy Brett was above and beyond an incredible Holmes. He and Basil Rathbone played the exact character as Sir Arthur wrote him in his book. The 1940’s films are wonderful - and I love the statements Holmes makes at the end of each film - always profound. Cumberbatch was absolutely wonderful, but not the character in the book. Sherlock is an incredible series and I love it and all the actors, especially Watson and Moriarity. But Jeremy Brett was the soul of Doyle’s books. And although I absolutely adore Nigel Bruce 💕, Brett’s series had the truest Watson. (It’s heartbreaking that we lost Jeremy Brett and John Thaw too early. Amazing people and deeply sensitive actors - both of them. 🥀 )

I love the WW II Sherlock Holmes movies, I imagine they were a welcome distraction for people during the war. The only problem with this film is the spider Lycosa Carnivora is no more toxic and painful than a bee sting. It’s is known as the True Tarantula but is not in any way a similar genus. The spider is very timid and must be extremely agitated and provoked before it will bite. Other than that, the movie makes complete sense, as long as you’re willing to believe a bite as painful as a bee sting can drive a person to such agony they’d commit suicide, but it sure makes for great entertainment!
