I have a firm lump that has grown more over the past few months, (started 2 years ago). Pain starts the day before my period, the lump swells, and pain stays for 2 weeks until I ovulate. Then during my luteal phase, it doesn't hurt and the swelling goes down. (Although I can still feel a lump). The pain has become excruciating. I cant laugh, cough or sneeze. I can't change positions, clothes touching the area is torture. The skin itself is also very sensitive. It goes between throbbing pain and stabbing, aching, gnawing...you name it. I just got a ct scan on Monday, and my untrained eye can see a circular mass in my right rectus abdominis muscle. I compared it to a scan I got in 2022 that was normal, and the mass was not there. The Radiologist who read my ct scan said everything was NORMAL. I feel so gaslit right now. Not only can I feel it physically, but I had a Diagnostic Laparoscopy and my Gyno said he felt it in my abdominal wall. But he thinks it's "Just scar tissue" And a hysterectomy will fix it. There is such a clearly defined mass in my abdominal wall on that scan, I cannot believe I am being told nothing is there. I am seeing a General Surgeon next week for hopefully a 2nd opinion. I need this mass out, I can't live like this anymore. I just hope this doctor knows what AWE is. I have the lump, a history of 2 c-sections, and cyclical pain, and a ct scan shows a mass. How can they still say nothing is wrong? I feel so lost.

So a hell lot of sugar in form of fruits and carbs helps against Endometriosis? Because Fructose is worse then table sugar. All our modern fruits have been bred to be larger and contain much more fructose. This modern fruit would never exist in untouched nature. Plants are living beings that protect themselves against herbivores by producing their own pesticides. Among other things, they form pesticides that reduce the fertility of certain pests, especially raw vegetables. Nightshade vegetables like tomatoes, potatoes, etc., are not recommended for consumption per se. If you eat potatoes or beans raw for example, you will end up in the hospital with poisoning. We need to cook them to destroy the poisen and to be able to consume them. So, to me, that doesn't sound very healthy. You must be some kind of doctors. OMG.

Very interesting, feeling how the bloating and pain receded within approximately two months made all the difference, I simply go’ogled the latest by Tilly Strankten and her Ovarian Cyst Guide and although it really took about 10 weeks for it to totally shrink and vanish I’ve never felt so light and relaxed.

Hello I am in Australia. I am an endometriosis patient. I had stage 4 endometriosis with frozen pelvis. I have also had inguinal endometriosis and associated hernia. I suffer from abdominal wall endometriosis. I recently had an MRI because of my complaint of having endometriosis pain under my ribs. I have a burning sensation in an arc under my ribs. Shortness of breath, chest pain and a strange whezzing cough. The MRI showed a small paraumbilical hernia filled with what the doctor thinks is fat but I know it is endo as I had an inguinal hernia containing endometriosis, it hurts! Does this mean I'm likely to have abdominal wall endometriosis in this location, which caused the endometrioma? My gynaecologist says she doesn't want to operate because a laparoscopy could spread cells (and result in more endometriosis) Any advice or referrals you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Great video. I'm just a patient but it definitely seems like endometriosis, similarly to cancer, gets into the bloodstream and moves around the body. Or maybe it's the stem cells that become the endometrium, that are activated by hormones before they're in the correct place (inside the uterus) or are just stem cells in other areas that get triggered to become endometrial tissue outside the uterus. Thankfully, obviously, it's not cancer. But maybe someday they will be able to test for endo cells in the bloodstream. We'd need much more sensitive and sophisticated tests to achieve this but I think it's possible

Please come to New Zealand with your expert and experience. There are no experts here. Well, the top endometriosis specialist said "the pudendal nerve is far to deep in the pelvis to be concerned about". This tells me that he doesn't know basic anatomy of a women's pelvis. I have not had any endometriosis surgery since 1993 and it was stage 4. That was over 25 yrs ago and I still suffer everyday.....especially after bowel motions, bladder emptying and vaginal zapping. I need someone I can trust, like you to have a good investigation. I know about nerve centralization....I'm an ex reg nurse but had to quit early in my career due to having severe endometriosis pain. Please can you help me. Joanna Massey

Very informative... My Daughter has had Endometriosis for years. It started in her Uterus, bowels,(27 years ago). And now it is in her lungs.. I feel so bad for her, as she has had blood clots in the vagina, and now lungs.. Most Drs. have not believed her, and she has no diagnosis, so she can't get disability. Cannot work so depends on a friend and me to help her survive... We are so disappointed in the Medical field, as she has been to lots of Drs. And they think she's just trying to get pain medication, but her pain is so great; that none of us could have gone through what she has... she's 47 now, and still alive, thanks to God for Prayers... Thanks for listening...

Thank you for this video! I’ve been dealing with this for over a year and finally got an ultrasound and they still couldn’t tell what it was. I met with a Complex General and Colorectal surgeon and she suggested that I might have abdominal wall endometriosis and I’m finally getting it removed on Tuesday! This was a great video explaining what it is!

food is not "poison" or "toxins" this is harmful rhetoric that clouds the good info presented. Please do better to not demonize foods in pursuit of health and wellness. I don't even believe this presenter is a dietitian. A LOT of this information is misleading and leads to fear mongering keeping people away from perfectly healthy foods. I'm disappointed in this presentation as someone with endometriosis looking for actual helpful dietary information.

I'm not understanding. food can be very poisonous and toxic. the perfect example is fast food, processed foods, especially the ones you cook in the oven or microwave, candies with high fructose corn syrup and coloring in it, and so on so on. if a person can't cut these foods out of their diet then that's a problem. people will become so addicted to these foods that are slowly killing their stomach and intestines....at the same time endometriosis. I have it and have struggled in the worst ways possible with processed foods and candies. I am now dieting, working out, and sleeping better and have seen a huge change. I don't have the endo belly I use to have when eating such awful processed foods.

This information is IMPERATIVE for the medical community and transgender individuals/their families. As a transgender man and a widely respected transgender advocate, I will ensure to educate where and how I am able. I came here looking for information in regards to my own personal pain and have not only gained appropriate information but, a mission and further purpose. As a minor critique- please be careful to NOT use the word "transgendered". It is offensive and grammatically inaccurate. The word transgender is an adjective and must be followed by a noun (ex. transgender man), just like the adjectives white, black, tall, short, thin, heavy, etc. Also, please be careful to not say things like "when he chose to be a transgender man" or "his gender is male because he feels like a man". The key words in both examples are "chose" and "feel". Transgender people do not "choose" to be the gender they are, nor do they "feel" as though they are. They just ARE, the same way a cisgender person who was assigned female at birth did not choose to identify as female or feel female. She just IS female. Phasing like this can be the make or break between our medical needs being taken serious (as medically necessary) or just a result of a choice or feeling and can lead to countless other invalidating and harmful experiences. Thank you for your allyship and openness to greater knowledge. I am happy to share my personal experiences as well as further educational information, any time. If interested, I can be reached at hello@transprogram.org. In Unity, Jensen (He, Him, His)

The etiology is incorrect. Research based on the etiology of retrograde menstruation does not advance care for the disease. Given the abundance of differential invasive, adhesive, and proliferative behaviors between the native endometrium and the lesions of endometriosis (Delbandi et al 2013), it is not merely just 'rogue' endometrium. The ectopic (note: external to the uterus) lesions of the disease resemble, but are not identical, to their eutopic (note: internal to the uterus) counterparts (Ahn et al 2016). Studies have demonstrated that the tissues are functionally dissimilar (Zanatta et al 2010, Freger et al 2021).

Thank you for this video. I was diagnosed with Thoracic Endometriosis after a catamenial pneumothorax in August 2019. It's been so difficult. I had surgery, a VATS Pleurodesis. I still have a copy of the images that my thoracic surgeon gave to me, showing the holes in my diaphragm and what it looked like after she repaired it. I have regularly followed up with my thoracic surgeon, internist, gynecologist, and pulmonologist. I have expressed to all of them how my breathing still feels so restricted and that I have random but regular chest pains. I was finally able to schedule an appointment with a specialist at the UofM Pelvic Pain Clinic, but I couldn't get in until December 2021. I really hope the appointment will shed light on what is going on. I have had really painful periods since I started menstruating at age 10. At 17, I was hospitalized due to ovarian cysts bursting. The physician did not remove the fluid. My abdomen eventually went down though. Anyway, I am trying to remain optimistic, but the constant pain and discomfort has really affected my psyche. My last abdomen and pelvic ultrasounds also showed adenomyosis and a fibroid. I feel desperate for answers 😔.

This was set up as an educational resource and a place for surgeons to have their name as nook surgeons, who know what they are doing. Please check this link out as it could save your life. There are far too many cowboy surgeons out there. I'm sure you will be able to speak and visit a competent surgeon via this link. Hugs, Jo Massey.
