I like the idea of a legendary pokemon (with exceptions like dialgia who is called the god of time) being rare apex pokemon. The Zenith of that area. Lugia is the guardian of the sea not bc it’s some god. It’s the strongest thing in the sea before kyogre reappears. And by it’s so rare there are not many bc they’re super territorial. They are strong so their numbers are few. Bc the area cannot support a huge population of such powerhouses. Not naturally anyway.
I feel like you are just not consistent with how you are rating these though, sometimes you take lore and abilities into account, sometimes you care just about visuals, sometimes other references in media matter, sometimes the originality of the trope they come from and not the execution matter, this inconsistency really brings down the video imo. I.e tryndas design is super basic but his lore and darkin relations make him somewhat unique and interesting, corki is legit just red baron from sly cooper 3, alune is legit just the moon lady from avatar, jinx is legit just another harley quinn copy, yet you rate them all so very differently based on inconsistent factors.
How are you offended by LeBlanc? 🤔Her lore is not that developed but she is at least seen before tier. I guess you could call her illuminati vibes, an entity that nobody knows if it's one person or a syndicate, controlling a nation from the shadows through mind controlling people into being her spies for at least 1k years
This just shows me GameFreak and the Pokemon Company don't care much as far as creativity goes. We get some of the worst characters in Pokemon as if they refuse to allow the artist to create.
16:50 I disagree. The idea of Bel'Veth is awesome, the execution I find very much lacking. Mostly for the reasons others had touted, but her design feels very *bleh* even beyond what I perceive as a failure of execution.
@subjectively, Nafiri is less than unoriginal and I've seen her years before her release back in to 2011 - 2012 I think from anime Bleach. And there I was seeing Lucian and Nafiri
real polarbears also have small heads compared to their body size lamo but i agree that they made it even more strange looking i dont like though how the endresult of the change turned out some of the inbetween changes when scetching i liked alot more and the blue head just looks like its bald the spiky fur tufts dont really help there ^^"
It saddens me that a lot of people don't know any of the work of H.P. Lovecraft and can't see his influence in a lot of medias when said medias more often than not make a poor copy of its original designs. Malzahar is definetly such a case (look up Abdul Alhazred) and is certainly a offensively derivative rendition of this character (arabian, mad prophete, have a lot of horror dreams and can summon untold horrors). (I know I would sound a bit pedantic but I just want to convey that some of League designs are at the very least less than original for how poorly copied it is.) In fact, a few of original League designs is derivative from H.P. Lovecraft (a few example : Rylai scepter refer directly to the lost city of R'lyeh / the Necronomicon book). Also, I would like to roast you about your opinion of Jhin. But, after some thought... I can only say that you are right as sad as that makes me.
Azir might not be truly *unique* . He's just Ra at first glance. I still adore him, such a cohesive design in my opinion. His tempered fanaticism is just such a treat that I don't see used often in a character's personality. I can't point at one thing in particular about him that screams *THE BEST CHARACTER* but it's the culmination of all his parts. He makes his own flaws seem like more flaws of his civilization (which makes sense since he ties himself SO heavily to Shurima). The misunderstood anti-villain, the emperor of a land lost to time, the hero of his own story. Azir will always be my 10/10.
