Yes the volunteers show you where they want to be. Everywhere we planted tomatoes are struggling. The tomatoes our chickens ate and generously spread about in mostly shady areas ( getting about 3-4 hours of sunlight) are doing the best.
@@georgettehillard9390 yay! When I decided to start this channel it was because I couldn’t find anyone else on her in this area! Hopefully we can all come together and help each other 🖤
I have tomatoes popping up everywhere that I put compost I made down🤪 i mean hundreds! I have pulled up a bunch and put them in pots till I know where I want to put them.
Great work on finding them hornworms and your technique getting rid of them 😁 you're braver than most women I know! But you're doing what needs to be done to protect your garden 👏👏👏 and with that I'm subscribing and liking your vid 😃

Hi, I'm new to canning, thanks for video! How much water do you put in pressure canner? I'm using a Nesco which seems similar. Also do the peanuts cook more during the canning process, such that you would undercook them prior to pressure canning? I usually cook valencias in the instant pot for 30 min which come out just how we like, so would i do less before canning? Thanks again!
@@conkbeach these would probably come out the same texture! I like mine more soggy than these come out, but these are a great quick snack for when I don’t have time to make them fresh! My canner (presto precise) has a fill line for it for pressure canning, so I just fill with water to that fill line 🥰

The rain keep skipping us as well. My Everglades tomatoes are doing really well in this heat but all the other ones are basically done. I do have Egyptian and Lagos spinach that is doing well in the heat to.
Same rain problem here in Middle Ga! We got about a 5 min shower today… green beans plants are literally dormant. Hoping they start back. Tomatoes are now blushing and starting. My squash was a bust except cucuzzi are looking great! I have a couple cushaw that escaped the bugs… we will see. Definitely a weird year.
So I honestly don’t know 🫣 the originals came from flseeds and that is one of the downfalls ordering from them and dollar seed is that they don’t always have the variety listed 🖤 I just seed save them every year and replant. flseeds.com/index.php/product/sugar-snap-peas-20-seeds/
I am wanting to start seeds this fall. When do you think is the best time to start ? I’ve always bought the plant starts. I’m planning on doing collards, cabbage, broccoli, carrots onions and garlic! That also might have been our burn pile you smelled it started up on its own! This week and was a bugger to get out! 😵💫🙄🙃
It could have been! It was yesterday! I drove around to all of ours checking them because I’m paranoid 🫣😂! Hopefully it rains today!!!!! I think I’m going to wait and start them at the very end of August. It’s so dang hot this year. I’m no help with carrots 🫣😂 I think I’m going to wait till December to start those. Garlic and Onions I started in November last year.
@@FloridaGardenHer yep it was us sorry! 🙈🙈🙈 I have so many questions about seed starting!! Do I need grow lights ? Can I start them in my garden kitchen which is on the side of our feed barn has a roof and everything. When I tell ya I’m going into this blind I totally am! 🙃
You don’t need anything fancy here to start seeds for fall. Just seed starting mix, seeds, whatever containers you want to start them in and water. The struggle here is keeping them moist because it’s still usually pretty hot when we start them. Most people direct sow cool crops, I’ve just never had much luck! I set my trays with their domes on a table under our tractor shed for the first 2 weeks and then the next two weeks I set them out a few hours at a time to let them acclimate or “harden off” 🖤
In a sense yes! We grow warm weather crops March to July. August to October we can grow a second set of some warm weather crops like tomatoes. In September October we start planting cool season crops. Cabbage, Brocolli etc that will grow October to March/April. I’m North Florida so our growing seasons are even different than south Florida since we see freezing temps a few times a year here. 🖤
All the rain and then no rain at all hasn’t been ideal! Our grass in the yard is crispy! I honestly think it has cut down on disease though! The shade starts around noon, so it’s blocking that super hot direct sun. This year though is a hard year to determine if something is working or not.
I would love a list of the tomatoes you are growing. I have Everglades that are doing great! My atomic grape ones are struggling in the heat but supper yummy. I will try again for a fall crop. I have another one that is doing ok … forgot the name. I have failed and anything that is not a cherrie type. I want to grow medium sized ones.
I’ve had a lot of success with the Floridade, Marglobe and Ace 55. This is the video I did a few weeks ago about the Tomato Garden 🥰ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZUhpZKcvfWE.htmlsi=NNTuKA6XzyKSQUXo
Fantastic idea!!! You are brilliant. I love my fence netting also, but it is terribly fiddly and difficult for one person to handle most of the time. So, mine tends to stay where it is.
