Thank you for taking the time to make a very informative video!, I just did around my side walks & the line was driving me fuck'n nuts! I took it apart & looked at it for about 20mins & started checking utube & found alot of loading videos but I knew something wasn't together right, & then I found yours & it saved the day! Thank-you again.
thank you!!!!! thought maybe that could be the problem but never tried. Thought the head was just worn. Had it for three yrs and works great. That feature of loading trimmer is the reason I bought it. Thanks again!!!!!!
This is excellent. I am new to Speed Feed Heads. I always used the crappy type. But now I know. I may get a marker or something to know which way to insert it. Thank you!!!!!
This video was a great help. Actually saying that placing the insert a certain way fits perfectly is kinda misleading because it fits perfectly either way. My STIHL turns the same direction as yours( didn’t know that until watching your video and scrubbing my guard to see arrow). Looking down from operator position it turns counterclockwise. That’s why placing the insert with the L (counterclockwise) is inserted looking down towards ground. Thanks for opening my eyes
I know I'm late, but thank you so much for this. I was having the same problems you were. Not any more. I also learned to my trimmer line in wqter. it up, so it lasts longer. 😁 spam
@@SeahorseWorkshop Thanks. I end up purchased 2 (8Z and 8R) from Japan Business Address through Amazon. They are fantastic pruners. There are newer Ars 8XZ also available, but much higher price.
Did u buy this from Home Depot online? I’m curious because mine is on the way from Home Depot being shipped and I want to see if I will receive a bottle of oil with it
I bought this from the store as I wanted to touch and feel the ergonomics of the device. I don't remember if a small bottle of oil is included. Just remember to always add oil when adding gasoline.
I have called my Echo everything under and over the book, I have wanted to send it back and demand a refund. Now. I may have to rethink this. Thank you. Now if I could only find a way to keep it cool while running. Everyone has complained on how Echo's run hotter than other weed eaters.
Hey great video, I might add which way you turn it in the future. I use about 5 feet of line, load it - and then push/turn to the left until it's short. I'm having an issue where it's retracting line instead of dispensing it. My stepfather used it and turned it around I believe, and with your good video - I made sure the L is outward..... but I'm still having it retract line instead of feeding it? With the spool the correct way ( L = outwards) - does it matter which way you crank it to suck up string?
try rounded lines iv tried the curved lines in my echo speed heads and the rapid replace speed feed heads and the rounded lines come off the speed feed heads better then weird curved shaped lines do off the after market speed load weed trimmer heads try the rounded lines they do way better on these type of heads
i just change my Toyota Vios (Another name of Yaris) with Castrol Transmax ATF (which is claimed to meet Toyota WS requirement). Then my car shifted a little different. No slipping but RMP maybe need to be higher for shifting. 😭😭 Is it okay?
bro my weeder was driving me nuts cuz i had to manually turn the head to get more line. I couldnt figure it out but now it works great after watching your video. Thanks so much bro i appreciate ur time making this video.
I bought the trimmer and I was ready to break it until I saw your video. So nice of them to mention this in the manual...of course, why will they? We got your money, you're on your own.
Thanks for the video. Originally I had this on a Stihl and switched it to an Echo. Then the problems started. It took you to figure this out. This will help a lot of people !!!
Brilliant- I changed the head on my Echo SRM225- could not figure this one out! I too had the head reversed! Spitting out string, then string retracting and making me crazy! Spent more time doing it wrong than weed whacking. Did not see this in all the ECHO vids.
