Thank you so much for these 3 videos. I appreciate them very much. It's just the kind of info I've been looking for. In addition to being helpful, these videos are very well done. Your videography and editing are top notch. That's what makes these not only helpful but enjoyable to watch. Thanks again!😀

Very well done Video! I especially like the way you staged the products! I love my Landmines! I need another set so I can do Fair Head-to-Head Comparisons. I've blown two 1080s. I think they were running the same motor just like the one you showed. A 16t five slot on 3s. I blame the motor after the same thing happening twice.

Looked so great and I really admired it… Until you opened the first bag of concrete. Man did you see concrete in nature before? At least you could have spent 30 minutes more to clean up these nice natural stones. 😦 My personal opinion
@rcexcursions
@rcexcursions 4 месяца назад
I’ll admit, I would never use concrete in the same way I did for this project, you live and you learn I suppose… That being said, my decision to apply concrete to the course-and I forgot to mention this in the video-was mainly to add strength and durability. I got the idea from a guy in our local group, who had his own backyard course on which many an event was hosted. He filled the gaps between rocks in order to armor it against the amount of foot traffic it would have to endure. I have a lot of siblings who like to play on the rocks, so resilience was key. Also the course was built in a drainage ditch, so I wanted it to hold up against water. I know I said that concrete would “make it look better.” What I meant was that it would give the course a more completed look, or at least that’s what I was going for. Unfortunately, I mixed the concrete too thick, and it didn’t fill in the gaps as I had intended. However, I have found a better method, and that is to apply the concrete in its dry state, sweeping it into the cracks, and then misting the course with water. I have found the results quite satisfactory, in terms of aesthetics and functionality. I’ve also noticed, after two years of using the course, is that concrete (if filled in properly of course) keeps weeds from growing through the rocks. …Anyway, sorry for the editorial, but I figured this was the best way to answer your critique. Thanks for the feedback and for watching, have fun building your course!

I know… Truth be told, I’m just in a different place in life right now, and I no longer have the same amount of time at my disposal to create content for RU-vid. Video production is something I’m still passionate about, but trying to balance my daily duties with a RU-vid channel is more arduous and frustrating than fun and rewarding. However, I loved making these videos very much, and it brings me great pleasure to hear that you enjoyed them. Hopefully this summer I’ll be able to create some content, but until then, I’m afraid school and work must come first. Thank you for watching!

2 years later.... I really enjoyed your building a trail course at home series. I am beginning to build a course at my home and I am always looking for new/different ways of doing it. Thank you for your input in my mental build before I continue physically adding obstacles and such.😊

Thank you for your comment! I enjoyed making this series very much to say the least, and I’m happy that it has inspired others to construct their own courses. Unfortunately, I’m unable to produce anymore videos due to my current situation in life. I might potentially upload an update on the course (I’ve added on to it…), but I’ll have to see. Anyways, thanks for watching, and have a good one!

Youve worked so hard on the rocks and have done a great job. Its good that you have to use the cord to help you up, its not going to be easy so theres a good chane your not last but hey if you are and you enjoyed it then last is just a place, as long as you had fun on the journey. Keep up the great work and enthusiasm for RC crawling. Its great to see younger people getting into the hobby like you.

Sorry it took me so long to reply to your comment, I just saw it. There’s no dedicated place for RC Rock Crawlers, we just run the public trail system. In this video we did Lower Wudchuk Run and came back on Middle Wudchuck Run. Both trails are easily found on the big map by the parking lot (or TrailForks). Though my personal favorite trail is Wudchuk Run. I’ve yet to have a bad experience at Swope Park, and Hikers and bikers are always friendly. As for the location of this trail system I’ll make it easy for you by dropping a link here: www.google.com/maps/place/Swope+Park+Trails+-+Wudchuk+Run+Trail+Head/@38.9870253,-94.51656,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x87c0e42908606a21:0x15766f2a06e85015!8m2!3d38.9870212!4d-94.5139851!16s%2Fg%2F11bw47mrjf. Step one. Own a couple acres with no one living close by. 2 I can't dig unless I make a few calls seeing that its guaranteed you will hit some line hopefully not electric. 3 Not be married. If so either you won the lottery or will need to in order to let your wife shop enough to allow you to dig up her yard. 4. Accept that your friends/family will think you lost your mind "See Richard Drefus" in Close Encounters. 5. Be physically/mentally strong enough to do it.

Thanks for the suggestion! I used concrete to make the course look more complete and to hold up to the drainage it will take on. I built this course a year ago, and besides a couple of loose rocks, it’s still the same course. The same can’t be said for courses I’ve built without using concrete.

You had a good video going. But you lost me when you said 40 dallor axles are just as strong as the 400 dallor axles. That part is very false.
@rcexcursions
@rcexcursions Год назад
Thanks for the comment! While I can’t see the $400 axles being stronger than a budget set, think of how many $40 axles you can break before you hit the price of a premium pair. Of course a Vanquish set is going to be better quality, but you’re saving up to $360, and that’s the point of this video. Each to their own I guess, but people at a budget will find the cheaper E-bay axles a satisfactory upgrade.

Hello, your channel popped up on RU-vid today while I was tuning into the King of Hammers race. I think you are onto something good here. You should build your channel on finding the best cheap, or affordable rc parts and reviewing them. I haven’t seen anyone else doing this. Post links to where you found them for the rest of us. I have a OG Wraith, Deadbolt and Base Camp all stock. I told myself I’m not going to spend big money on upgrades and since I haven’t broken anything on these cars yet I’m still having fun just the way they came out of the box. Thanks
