Hi Philip - when I heard your Granddad Pierce’s voice, particularly his phrasing, I just knew it would sit perfectly within the original Heptones’ Reggae version of this poem “Book Of Rules” from 1973. I’ve taken the backing track of the song and with a little manipulation I’ve inserted his voice at the appropriate points. I really hope you and your family like it as it was done with much respect to your granddad who had a great voice and was obviously a brilliant teacher. Please be assured that it is not a money-making project for me and the record label you see is a fiction created purely for the video. Here is the link to the video on my RU-vid channel: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KbjjUuJA9ng.html
If anyone knows an original source to cite for this poem (a book, for example), please let me know. I haven't found an original source from any book, internet site, or You Tube that uses this poem.
It's a shame we don't get to hear the rest of what this obviously well-learned man had to say. We are quick to disregard older people because we don't see them for their wisdom and experience, but they are surely a treasure that we should cherish as long as they are still here. Wishing the best to your granddad!
This was my FAVORITE song from CREATION this year! Thanks for posting it. I have been searching for a video of it.... Guess everyone was too busy dancing to record =]
This is a great angle!! Thanks for shooting this, I spotted myself a couple times down on the floor in my broncos hat. Flew out with a few friends from Denver for this. totally worth it!
