I've been Deaf since birth. I take pride in Deaf culture and ASL. I am a person who is addicted to RU-vid just like everybody else! I like making videos for fun to entertain people. If you have any ideas then send them my way!
Phenomenal! Growing up at school for the deaf, during my elementary days I had piano/music class. We learned this song mainly memorized the words without understanding the content of the song. 47 years later, here you go, ahhh that helps! Again, you’re phenomenal!
I just happened to stumble upon this while looking for more videos to share with my students this month regarding Deaf Black History month! I truly enjoyed it!
It's true, it's waste of money and makes non sense being played round people and take advantage. It's shameful making the videos make us look bad like sexually players or rapist. Have to be careful outside real world public please people will make fun or laughs at us calling deaf sexually as players or rapist. Need to aware of the situation because when people see us in public people will calls rapist and they need to change the videos put something like deaf culture or history or deaf social. Right now in public people knew about deaf beggar for money and some people pretend to be deaf that making us looks bad and shameful and embarrassment.
example I am deaf... whoever approaches me .. how do I get an attention? one number gentle tapping on shoulder( do not spank my back). two number give me an eye to eye ( I feel comfort). three number use note , write it down ( I read it) if America sign language she signs,,, I am impress... ( do not trick me). ask me to check my plan ( schedules I have plan if happen ). easy I do not remember ... myself figure I alway have plans.. four number whoever, she answers me to choose ( myself). I know whoever woman does not communicate with me no good! communications I m interesting to look out whoever speaks ... how?? I first check my schedules ( solved). I don't like whoever she is bossy. I elevalue.. whoever she seems nice to me. whoever she saves my money.. , if she understands I plan to support child. she understands and respects me very noblely. ➡ I m broke I may leave her. I don't love her simply. one thing I can't remember how a woman who says.. ( I ignore).
how do they meet a friend become a dating ? interesting what they meet and talk- work out a communication - learning how to write a short or long sentence simple problem writing or poorly writing an example the Apple is red where is an vowel ? an , a and the an apple is red , correct sentence instead red apple is a short . a bland word deaf person can not write it instead America sign language is a creative or idea mean a complex of image hearing person tries to catch idea or hearing person may misinterpret the word. a marriage is different or same ? the mind they grow together - boring ( the same thing or emotion distress stress) a month or over year how year the marriage solve ? different the mind they grow together and rid of past ( bad and good memory) a relationship is not so easily why? remember ! it is a vital of communcation budgets are stress if suspecting love or cheating - happen to angry , confuse and mistrust. home apartment , how they live comfortably ? go work and buy some grocery stress forget frustration less or high prices your money ( agreement and disagreement)- argue or how to solve problem communication stubborn unthinkable ( if consent of abuse)
remember ! communication is a vital of grow relationship- no budgets are very difficult- complex ( issues) emotional marriage is able to hurt a less or worse but a pain . how the relationship , hearing and deaf are accept to support love? it is not easy ? whichever the marriage and relationship are different or same? a marriage shows a love and emotion if a consent of abusive feeling. a relationship shows a complex of love and reasonable options( opinion) if emotion issues. over year or a moth they grow the emotion and make a conflict of interest or not, either.
ask marriage in community I love A.S.L marriage communication is best key they spread quality of years . Negatives and Positively are they agreed. excellent idea or concept
a. s. l mean American sign language mean people are deaf and loss of hearing they use good images like a beautiful dream . hearing and deaf couples are starting to become a best friends like a real relationships. first they feel trusting the feeling like an sex activity - an opening communication. they decide to purpose to approve the pledge of marriages - trying to make good lovable ( matching) family. touching mean to tap the shoulder ( wake up , sometimes nice) do not slap the shoulder ( no friend) . where is a consent of love? deaf men feel or lost control of sex . first deaf or hearing women don't mess deaf men up. why the loss of hearing or deaf husband make up and decide to divorce her? key do - do not advangte of man for reason money mean paying rent, save some money ( food). do not - hearing or deaf woman approach and noisy what a man make money. she tries she likes to be bossy and harm him. he become angry it is wrong. happen? the man does not love her anymore. a communcation is what man interest in woman 's saying if the warning she turns him to upset or harm him do not hurt him how? the man may confuse and feel betray because of woman like a boss. do not use him. if he lies and uses her for money. he leaves her. he doesn't love her. past - bad memory people uses him a lot . American sign language is the concept they learn gestures. writing is poor( bad) or very good hearing people can not understand. sorry!
thank you for reading this . the communcation works like a hope , if the communcation doesn't work don't use sign = bossy , bull and ego. the love shows means agreement ( connect or reality).
good concept - American sign language the man have feeling. key is to Happy or joyous the man have mind and feeling what woman give him to obtain carefully. thanks!
asl marriage in the community in some marvellous communication , they take times( flexibly ) and may be more built up like a strong, ultimately loving and more understandable relationships.
After I read your feedback on the Describing People video, I agree with you! That's what we normally do! I just didn't realize I posted a photo of children! I went back and corrected the photo to adults and reposted it. Thanks for the feedback!
This is an excellent video, even though it just focused on marriages. Communication is vital to the growth of any relationship on any level. If a hearing individual is dating a deaf individual, it is imperative that hearing individual understands how the deaf individual prefers to communicate, be it orally or signing. However, despite what you think, I would say the hearing status does matter in a relationship, especially in the beginning stages because the hearing person has to understand his/her significant other is deaf or hard-of-hearing and consider the communication/cultural issues that are present. This is more of an issue for hearing people who have absolutely no idea about d/Deaf culture and/or sign language and is starting to date someone who is d/Deaf.
+Aaron Delgado You are actually right on this part. This was actually specifically made to show that Deaf/Hearing marriages are possible. I see rarely anything on the internet that is positive about Deaf/Hearing marriages. I wanted a positive point of view to begin with. Despite of the fact that 80% of Deaf/Hearing marriage go up in divorce. I want people to know that it's still possible as long the hearing person work hard to learn signs. Like the third couple in the video said that you have to acknowledge the differences and make it work. There will be challenges along the way but you can overcome it. I feel like people give up easily on marriages. I want to give them something to look forward to.
Yeah, I completely understand your endeavor in making this video. Yes, deaf/hearing relationships or marriages are possible only if both people are willing to work with the differences that are present and take the best course of action to be able to be equipped to deal with those differences. This is not only for deaf/hearing relationships, but it goes for all relationships of any kind. Unfortunately, people do give up so easily on marriage. I am irked every time I read an article that says a couple is getting divorced on the grounds of irreconcilable differences. Differences in actuality are NOT irreconcilable as it just requires effective communication from each individual in the relationship to decide how to best approach those differences and work around them.
This video is hilarious! If I had an interpreter who behaved like that long blond haired girl then I would tell her she did a great job since she is certified in "comical interpreting!" :)
+Aaron Delgado Haha, that was me, a Deaf person who was pretending to be a hearing interpreter to amuse those interpreters. We did it in honor of them. I had a hearing person sitting on the floor in front of me helping to give me the cues to know where to start and etc.
I can't imagine what went through the mind of those who invented such a tedious method of communicating with the hands! By the way, Rebekah, weren't you at the Mary and John Gray Library which is the tallest building on campus?
+StrongDeafVoice I feel sorry for those deaf people who took classes at RIT/NTID where their professors used the Rochester method as I am sure most, if not all, fell asleep within 5-10 minutes after the teacher started lecturing. Ha. Thought so! The next time you are at that library, check out my thesis! :)
+StrongDeafVoice My thesis is titled "The Effects of Multimedia Technology on the Learning of Math Story Problems of Elementary and Middle School Deaf Students." So please read it at my humble request and let me know what you think of it! :)
+Aaron Delgado Really?!? I was a Deaf student who recently graduated from there! I'm now a certified ASL teacher. I was the president of this organization for a while. I hope they keep things growing and continuously making more improvements!
+StrongDeafVoice Yes! I graduated from there with a Masters in Deaf Education about eight years ago. At the time I attended, the degrees available that the department offered were a Masters in Deaf Education and a Doctoral degree in Deaf Education. The population of both deaf and hearing students were small. Of course, there's always room for improvements for the programs there. That's great you've become a certified ASL teacher! Congratulations!
That's great! I'm glad to know it is growing. I hope it always improve. There's always some kind of flaw that I'd run into but I'd try to stay positive about it and know there's always ways to improve! Congrat to you too!
+StrongDeafVoice Yes, I am glad the programs are growing. Flaws are just a reminder to us mere mortals that nothing on this Earth is perfect. There is just one gripe I have which is the location! When I first came to Beaumont, I immediately disliked it! Ha!
Where's the waiter?! If you wanted the video to be truly indicative of a deaf person not wanting a hearing person to order for him/her, then show a real waiter. Ha. Rebekah, you gotta work on your face expression because you were smiling when you told Lisa that she had breast cancer and you were sorry for her. Ha.
Yet another hilarious video. It can be a challenge for hearing people to let deaf people know they are temporarily going somewhere, i.e. the bathroom, outside to make a call, etc. because they don't want to interrupt the conversation that is taking place between deaf people.
Rebekah's attitude is hilarious! Texting has its time and place. Sadly, with all the technology that exists today, they are causing people to be so disconnected from one another. Why sit behind a computer and chat with a friend that lives 10 minutes from you when both of you could meet at a restaurant and chat in person? Why text with a person that's sitting next to you when you have hands [or a voice] to use?
This guy is so inspirational. So talented. He deserves a lot. Such a fun loving, talented guy. Makes me want to see another day come by to be honest. I want to support him and the deaf culture in anyway I can.
