Hi. I just got a 18’ targa w 150. I’m just curious if you have noticed any of the issues I’m noticing with the new motor. First of all it steers very differently left then right. Maybe prop rotation… idk. And I have to rotate the steering wheel a lot to make minor course corrections. I assume there is some kind of a hydraulic issue but the dealer is telling me everything is operationally normal. The other thing I noticed is motor shake. At idle in gear the boat shakes enough to make the graph on the consul almost hard to view contour lines. Have you noticed anything like that? TIA
How’s it going so to answer your questions as far as the steering, mine does not typically stay on track without making minor adjustments, but it’s never been a big enough issue to complain about. As far as the motor shaking, I do get pretty good shakes at idle and low speed. I typically troll with a plate at very low speeds and sometimes have to trim up and give it a little more throttle to reduce the shaking. I am not sure if this is something to do with the 150 or the boat itself, but I guess over the years I have just learned to deal with it.
@@brandonpekarek8032 thx for feedback! I’m not sure if it’s normal that I have to make a lot of turn of steering wheel to make motor turn…. Mine doesn’t really stay on track persay. Current or wind etc…. I wonder if there’s air in hydronic lines causing a loss of pressure from steering wheel input. Either way the dealer says “normal”. I also have noticed how much this boat needs to be trimmed vs my other glass type boat. Maybe aluminum or a hull design difference- idk. The motor shake is leading me towards a kicker tho. I should make a video of all this lol. Thx again!
Wouldn't a piece of felt or rubber stop it from chewing up the sides like that (saw it on a different video)? Nice boat, I would hate to see that damage if it could be prevented.
What did you do to actually mount the pickup tube? You mentioned running through the hole for the drain but only thing I can think of is to zip tie it to the motor below the water line. But mine is only spraying air and not any water. Trying to figure out why it's not sucking up water and if it's ok to just have the hose with the filter mounted along side the motor.
One of the biggest issues with the Spark is getting access to the engine to do maintenance. The easiest way to do anything, ultimately, is to take the top section off. After you've done it a couple times it becomes pretty simple BUT you are still left with one problem and that is that the wiring harness is only long enough to be able to lift it about a foot and still be able to turn the engine over for things like changing the oil or fogging the engine for winter storage. I wished that Seadoo would have considered this and made an extension cable so that I could plug it into harness and give more room. My wish came true recently when I found a company in CT (Reliable Tuning LLC) that makes a 15 foot maintenance harness cable for $85.00. Now I can take the entire top off and put it on the floor, plug the harness extension in and still run the engine. Has made my life so much easier.
Damn ur 275 pounds 😱, I'm 138 pounds 🤣 , they do 48 mph but me and my brother can go far on lake Michigan compare to my buddy's with their 300 HP machine.
How did u get them so cheap? I'm getting ready to get 2 '21 spark models one 2 up and one 3 up and they're telling me about 20 grand including the trailer.
JESUS CHRIST LOVES YOU ALL AND HE DIED FOR YOUR SINS AND HE ROSE AGAIN AND HE’S COMING BACK ONE DAY REPENT AND HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT AND UNCHANGING AND HE SAYS TO COME AS YOU ARE
I have a 2021 spark and it won’t go into sport mode. I did exactly as you did in the video and held the center red button and it does nothing. I heard there is a trainer key that doesn’t let you go into sport mode. Is that true? Think I might bring it to the dealer soon:(
Thank you for watching the video, so if yours is not going into sport mode there’s two possibilities as to why. The first would be the ski is not equipped with sport mode because it is an added option so be sure your ski has that option installed, secondly it could very well be the training key the way to tell the difference is the training key is usually green and regular key is usually yellow. If you have a training key on it will limit your speed and RPMs this is to teach younger kids how to ride the ski without going too fast. Hopefully these answer your questions double check everything prior to taking it to the dealer or they will charge you for nothing.
Thank you for showing it work. There are so many people that made videos talking about it but not demonstrating. I love the cup holder idea. I am going to try to do something like that so it is hidden. Thanks for posting.
I honestly don’t think you will regret it they are a ton of fun and you will have an amazing time riding them. I don’t know about you but I’ve never seen anybody with a sad face on a JetSki lol
I definitely think you and your family will enjoy. For the price you cannot beat the amount of fun that these machines produce. Enjoy your summer and thanks for watching!
Good video. I bought two of the 90hp 2 ups a few years ago and really like them especially the fact that they are composite. They are light, you don't have to worry about scratching the hulls like you do on a glass hull and really durable. Truth is 50mph is more than fast enough and because they are so light you can toss them around much easier than any other jet ski I've ever ridden. The only complaint I have about them is maintenance. To do any sort of maintenance you have to take the top off. Yes, supposedly you can access some of the stuff with the top on but truth be told there is so little room to work with that removing the top is a lot easier. I've done it so many times now it takes me about 10 minutes to pull it.
I unfortunately have not had mine out this summer and the batteries have since died. Not sure if I’m going to be able to recover them by charging them or if I’m going to have to replace them. I am not looking forward to having to remove the top from the bottom but I’m sure like anything else the more you do it the better you get. Thanks again for watching enjoy your summer!
@@brandonpekarek8032 Sounds like you're having the same type of summer I am. Neither of mine have hit the water yet and July is almost over. Bums me out. The batteries can be removed without pulling the top. It's tight but you should be able to stretch the rubber battery strap and get them out. Getting them back in is pretty simple. Putting the hold down strap back on however isn't. Good luck
@@charlieboudreau5172 Mine are holding up well with nothing other than annual oil changes. We've had a really disappointing summer here in the NE with almost the entire month of July being a wash out. Have only put 6 hours on them so far this season. Truth be told, with so little use I wish I had just left them covered and written them off till next year. Now I'll have to go back and winterize them again in a month or so. Certainly not worth it.
The GTI is also a great ski and in my opinion would probably be the better buy for coasting. It’s a little larger of a ski with a better seat so I would explore that option if you have a choice. Thanks for watching!
From Rockingham WA! Great honest review, as a young fella I owned an SPX, XP and the first orbital EFI RXP in the 90s, 15 years away from PWC, nowlooking at a spark 3up, have only to convince the minister of finances and fun....cheers for the video!
Thanks for watching, I greatly appreciate it. These truly are a fun ski and definitely worth the price point. I get tired of people talking trash on them saying they are under powered, honestly I feel like these individuals do not know how to have fun. Good luck getting your ski and enjoy it when you do!
That is fantastic you are going to have an absolute blast. I do believe that the color scheme that I have is the best looking, however they do have some skins that you can buy that dramatically changes the look and it looks pretty awesome. Regardless of color they are still a very enjoyable ski so get out there and have some fun.
You have to remember this was a couple of seasons ago. Since Covid, prices for everything have gone up because people have been stuck at home. I got these at Elk Grove Powersports in California. Good luck finding a good deal, keeping my fingers crossed for you!
