All the electric components are held within the head as part of the design to make the fixture IP rated. Placing the tilt components in the arm would make it difficult to fully seal the fixture. I agree that it's inconvenient, but it makes sense as far as sealing the head goes.
It would be useful if you demonstrated removing the covers and then resealing it - with the correct pattern across the body screws 1-1 2-2 3-3 4-4 5-5 etc - listening for hissing across the seals and all the actual fun that comes with it
They might be old but theres still a lot to be said for DF50s, our stock are 20+ years old now and still putting out haze like they were new. Warm up time 0 just plug and go.
@@PascoliniProductions df oil gets everywhere, I was cleaning a fan recently and the df oil had actually got inside a glass fuse. It's a great looking haze but it a bit of a nightmare for maintenance.
Hey man I have another question. So I am experiencing a lot of light leak when using gobos on these fixtures. We have one that when using the gobo wheel, it is defined and has no leak around the edge of the gobo. However on the rest of the fixtures we have, the gobos have a circle of dim light that is leaking. Do you have any suggestions on this?
Static gobo wheel or rotating? Fixtures could be dirty and reflecting light, for which I'd recommend deep cleaning. However if it's not dirty ,it could be a calibration problem, for which you'd use the advanced menu to calibrate the gobo wheel. @@PascoliniProductions I know that the vipers have lamp adjustment screws for focusing the lamp. Could the same process work with the axioms using the for screws that hold the convexed piece of medal on the lamp?
To be fair those viper frosts are almost always broken, we actually stopped replacing them on our stock as its a constant problem. I know another company where every single one of their frosts was held together with epoxy resin.

Hi! I have experienced lamps exploding and having the lamps go out and due to how expensive they are, do you have any suggestions on how to prolong the life of the lamps so that I don’t have to replace them
Ensure that you're properly lamping the fixtures on and off either through the console or through the menu. Once lamping off, give the lamps time to cool before killing the power. Routine maintenance like blowing dust out of the cooling fans will also help keep the lamp in good shape. I have found these lamps do not like to last very long. We generally find ourselves swapping them under 1000 hours

I wouldn't use the same cloth for polishing the guitar, after cleaning the fretboard, and I'd want the guitar clean, before chasing gloss. All that smeary stuff has to come off.

We borrowd some of those from a company last year, good output, But the only thing I didn't like about them was that there was no random strobe in the shutter channel
Were you using the 23 channel mode? You're probably right about that. I think they're more of an uplight or scenic lighting fixture rather than a crowd facing effect light so a lack of strobe effects wouldn't surprise me
I love your videos so much, they shed lights on the internals and functions of fixtures that normally we'd never get to see anywhere. I've always known the Quantum to have some of the fastest CMY I've seen in a modern'ish fixture, and I always wondered how they pulled it off. This video surprised me that it uses actual flags instead of the common opposing gate system or wheels. I thought that the flag style hadn't been used since the early 2000's, so it's really neat to see this and the Axiom using it to achieve that lightning fast mixing.
Glad to hear they're helpful. Originally I started making the videos so that I'd remember how and when to do basic maintenance on the fleet I was in charge of. Do you have the main board diagram? I've one unit that the tilt IC is dead and it doesn't show the model of the IC. Its a motor driver IC but I need the right one
Wow 4 days that's pretty awesome, they crammed everything into 2 eight hours days which was exhausting I felt like a few in the class was just pushed through to get them outta there it was some ignorance while this class was being held one guy only hit his target twice from 10 feet away that's when I knew. Thank God I had training from my days as a armed security officer so I kind of breezed through it. I took my class @ Midwest Guns in Lyons, IL Terry was our instructor I felt bad for the guy from 💩 he had to deal with because trust me it was some real idiots there with me. I hate the laws here in crook county it's ridiculous I'm not even speaking on the magazine capacity or the prohibited pistols like Walthers and Phoenix HP, I'm not even speaking on all the other places like Buds Guns who stop dealing with us due to, well, we know... I hate it here

Overall for a semi luxury private event dj how would you rate these on useable for someone like me? I usually just have 4 movers on truss with some astera tubes for reference. Working with more and more 8-12 piece bands though and doing their lighting
