We had the same vacuum Hoover decade 80. Had to replace it with the Hoover wind tunnel. Now I have the new Hoover bag less . The new vacuum s are garbage
Holy cow! What a find! I bought this vacuum back in 1986. I still have it, and it still works great! I would buy one if I ran across a NOS Hoover Spirit just like it!
My 34 year old Eureka Express Power Nozzle's wheels deteriorated (broke apart), looking to replace the wheels. It was an awesome Power Nozzle when it worked. Now it doesn't work, but with the wheels broken, it doesn't roll. My replacement vaccum is a Miele Classic. I would still like to use the Eureka for DIY home improvement work, sanding wood dust and stuff. Imagine, 34 years. I don't know where I can get the replacement wheels for the Eureka P/N.
I have a Hoover Dimension 1000 vacuum. Do you know where to get that end metal tube, which connects to the motorized carpet brush? The plastic thingy broke off. I am surprised in hindsight that the plastic part lasted this long. Otherwise the vacuum works great.
@@Abcrokid Wow! Thank you. I did not realize that was called a "wand". I found several on eBay. The price ranges from $17 to $40. My vacuum works great, just this one piece, so I am glad that I can get a replacement.
hey guys, I'm from Russia, I had this one at my home, and I loved it, it is kind of big and bulky but it is very reliable and I bought mine in 2008 and last year before leaving Russia I used it, it still worked very good, some small issues I had with power button and small hole in hose which I fixed by silver tape, and this is it for all those years! And so why I write it here, I live currently in United Stated and I stay at house friend of mine and I needed to do vacuum cleaning and I used regular vacuum cleaner here, and it was shity expirience it is heavy and I needed to carry it and it works really bad and I started to remember mine beautiful Thomas, I started to google how to buy it again and I found that there is no this brand exposed in US, and I suppose they tried to sell them here but people didn't buy it enough and they decided to stop it, and in same time I found some options on Facebook Marketplace and I even found new version of in Thomas x10 which is much better and looks nicier but it is for outlet 220v. So I can say it is great machine for heavy cleaning and love it so much I couldn't clean floor better than this device, moping it is just smearing of mud after trying this cleaner and I'm very sad that I can't have it here without big troubles with 220v outlet and ordering it from overseas.
my grandma on my dads side of the family used to have one of those sometime around my early childhood in the early 2000s except it was in green & then she let me have it at 1 point around prob like the late 2000s or early 2010s but then unfortunately my parents decided to throw it out as the machine got old & started wearing out
These were on the market a short while before dirt devil transitioned over to bagless and swivel glide models I don’t remember seeing much if any of these and now are extremely rare to come by you are lucky to have found this! How much do you think retail was at the time of release?
Sorry to revive an old video, but if I've been doing my research correctly the D4 and D4 SE had a slightly smaller motor than the D4 Performance Edition. There are 2 armatures available on the parts website, and I believe that the tall armature is for the Performance specifically. Your machine sounds significantly stronger than my SE so there's gotta be some truth to the difference!
forgot to mention the cord in in side the hose catching hairs and derbris , tried one and ended hating it. tried to blow out the hose with my kirby multiple times for over 10 minutes even used a hoe handle . and the power head doesnt agitate much , and the bearing are going out in the motor and brush berings. its not even old!
I love the Hoover PowerMAX Supreme S3611 too. I also love the Hoover PowerMAX Supreme 950 Canister as well. I have my eyes out for the Hoover PowerMAX Supreme 950 Canister, the only thing is, I have to get one NIB.
We had the black 4.0hp version on one level of our house when I was a kid. My mom bought it after using our neighbor's model because it was so much lighter than her Kenmore Power-Mates. I would LOVE to find a NIB Spirit. Lucky!
