If your wondering why his head turned red, rather the G force of the lathe sent all the blood to his legs and got no oxygen in his head, or he just turned red becuase his wind pipe was crushed or his back
Glad to see you make a pass down the track @ especially at Sacramento. The run looked and sounded good from here.Hope to possibly see you later this year.
Glad to see the dragsters running again 🙏. You had a good burnout, and a clean run he may have been just making a few more ponies that day 😉. BTW , I was @ the “ Last Drag Race” @ Orange 🍊 County International Raceway back on 🤔 October 29th 1983 the Hydrogen Peroxide cars where amazing in their time. The Winter Nationals @ Pomona, I saw Shirley beat Big Daddy , now up here in N California Sacramento Raceway Park @ the Jet cars is the place to be.
A great driver that was just making his mark in TF. I would've hoped Amato would've have hung around as his owner. They were a pretty good team! RIP, Darrell. Crazy to think he's been gone this long
6.90 Door Slammer category / big tire - no time car also. 7.0 is usually a dragster/funnycar/altered class (center steer stuff only) The event was a rainout, and Rick wanted to go for a drive. Check out more info @ facebook.com/teamsinisterracing
It was a sad day when he passed away in St. Louis. I had my picture taken with him in Joliet at the Rt. 66 Nationals. He seemed like such a wonderful man. How ironic he was racing Scott Kalitta when he lost his life. A few years later we lost Scott as well. I am sure Darrell would have been a world champion if he was still with us. RIP!!!
