I don’t look at Trucking as anything but a job. I make money I pay my bills. I don’t have the luxury of following my dreams, that was squashed long ago when I figured out I need a steady paycheck to pay for food, light bill, mortgage and so on. I have a friend who did the exact same thing he sold his truck and became a company driver for Keen and now he’s doing great. I hope everything works out as good for you. After I got married it changed things for me, trucking is just a job, if I could step into a job making enough money to pay my bills and be home everyday I’d sell my trucks today. I enjoy driving my Classic XL regardless of the type freight, but I’d give it up in a heartbeat to have a regular job and be home every night. I guess after 27 years the fire has gone out. You be careful and don’t over do it.
@@TheTruckersTable ya. It you have an awesome looking truck. I didn’t start driving until I got married first and had kids. Thank you for just being there and letting me talk stuff out.
Much repect to you for learning flatbed.im a bad ass strong guy and coudnt magine doing it.i guess many will say im not a badass.lol im more into tanker just messing with a few hoses and mental work for the many placards ive used.stay safe driver
Every f'n one of them damn guys would be looking the minute you hit something though...22 years of driving lowboy delivering equipment, boy I don't miss it lol
I don’t know how you do it, there’s no way my fat butt would last one week doing that kind of work. You should look into getting an icemaker the little icemaker I have can make up to 26 pounds of ice a day and it only cost about $90 at Walmart.
I’m headed to Greenville Pennsylvania over near Philadelphia delivery as soon as possible. Probably Friday night or Saturday morning. It’s crazy they would dispatch you on a load without knowing what your hours of service are
Not your fault you didn’t load the trailer I hate that you’re putting yourself through all this mess the heat, aching muscles. I sure hope this is paying a lot better than dry van
Get yourself a FMCSA Regulation book (The Green Book) or a Load Securement book. That will tell you what and how to secure the load. You can get them online or maybe in a truck stop.
Those are your smoke tarps - used most commonly for the front of a load. This helps prevent road debris, water and dirt from entering the front of the cargo. 😀
Does flatbed pay better than dry van? I’ve never been interested in open deck freight, to afraid I’d make a mistake and whatever I’m hauling would fall off and kill someone.
@@trucker4life70 I just thought if you were going to move over to doing flatbed as a company driver at some point, you would want to do it as an owner operator since you still have your truck.
President Trump has a hotel golf resort in Doral(Door-Al). Set the GoPro up so you can record yourself strapping & tarping especially if you’re gonna be using a 13ft ladder. Might end making enough money from all the views you’ll get. “Trucker falls 13ft breaks half the bones in his body”.
