Between the Yoda-like sentence structure, the abstract pictures, and the question of those 2 dots, this floor is tough. Remember that you can use your middle mouse button to highlight any interactive areas - it's sometimes easy to miss something that makes things a lot harder. (There is a page trigger that was missed next to the fast travel door you found on this level that help clear up a few more symbols.) Really enjoying this playthrough

1. Lower your resolution. Fallout 1 was made for 640x480. This is why the dialogue and the world map journey interfaces are tiny rectangles on your screen. I can see you moving your eyes all over the screen to figure out what is going on and having trouble with reading the text on the screen. And yet you have decided to make the resolution even bigger between this episode and the previous one. Understand: this game was ment to be played and viewed a certain way and it definitely was not with the ability to see the whole map darting your eyes from one side of the screen to another constantly getting distracted by stuff going on elsewhere. 2. You can move your screen by moving mouse coursor toward the edge of it. There is no rotating or zooming. Why would you want to zoom in the very first episode, constantly zoom on the action with editing and still prefer to play in 1080 is beyond me. 3. You switch fire modes of a weapon by right-clicking the weapon icon. There is an option to reload it without opening the inventory. Putting bullets into the second slot does nothing. The fullness of the clip is displayed as a bar to the right from the weapon slot. 4. Aimed shots cost one more action point and are harder to perform but they give you armor penetration and additional effects in case of a critical. Right click on your active weapon until there is a target in the bottom right corner. You can not do aimed bursts. 5. Once you've opened the inventory in combat you don't need to spend any more action points on using stims or loading/unloading the guns - you do this with dropdown commands holding the left moust button over the items. It is a bit of a cheese, but the game is hard as it is - especially on your first time - so do use this to your advantage. 6. You can end turn and combat by clicking on the buttons at the bottom right. You know. The window that opens with the beginning of combat and closes at the end. That says End: Turn/Combat. Ending turn prematurely adds your action point to your armor for the enemy turn. Although using action points to move is much more useful and you've been doing that already. 7. The pointer coursor has various options on dropdown menu - just hold the left button and move the mouse to pick an action. Hovering this coursor over an item will just give you a very basic description. Clicking an object or an NPC with inspect action will give you a detailed description. You can inspect any item in your inventory. Armor stats can only be seen in the inventory character window while you are wearing the armor. Don't hesitate to save-scum if you are considering buying new armor. But in most cases the price is quite self-explanatory. 8. You might want to take a look at your character sheet and your character skills and start using those. If you are a talking character then try to actually talk to NPCs instead of trying to end the dialogue as quickly as possible. You haventeven tried half the options with Ian and Aradesh. Yes of course why would you ever want to learn anything about the world completely new to you. Just assume that you need to kill the radscorpions with just what you have right now. Why would you ever want to try and heal yourself if you can just spend all the stimpaks on the radscorpions. All these rats keep on attacking you and you don't want to fight them. If only there was a skill that would make enemies notice you less... Oh well you will just keep stumbling over them and moaning about old game being old game and not giving you any options but to fight rats... Oh your character sucks at shooting and you keep dying well obviously this is an old game and the devs did not test it properly so that even a clueless person just pushing random buttons could get through every encounter, come on guys, it is old game, imperfections are to be expected... 9. Stop saving on the same slot. This way you will play yourself into a corner. You are still on the timer, remember? 10. I'm digging the hat. 11. Wrote this 8 minutes into the episode in case if you have figured it out later on. Good luck with one of the best RPGs of all time.

@@cowboyhatmatt I would like to ask you to forgive me if I have gone a little bit too snarky while writing this. Having played these game for decades one tends to lose the perspective as it is quite easy to bury the bad memories of one's own early fumbles. That being said... I have watched so many blind playthroughs, it is really making me lose faith in modern gamers. I mean, come on, guys... It is not perfect, but it is not THAT difficult to figure out either ;) I hope that you will enjoy your first playthrough. After all, there is only one first for everything. I will not spoil anything about the game. And I guess you are welcome for the advice ;D
@@cowboyhatmatt Nice. And I forgot to tell you that you don't need to go for the dialogue review if you did not manage to read the first part in time. If you hover the mouse over the bottom half of the NPC's text and click you can flip forward and top half you can flip backward. There is a text speed option, but it does nothing which is a bug as far as I am aware. You can try it in case if it was fixed in your version of the game, but I would not hold my breath for it. Maybe it affects the overhead barks for NPCs or something like that - who knows. I was also not exact with leftover action points giving you armor - they actually give you armor class which is lowering your chance to get hit. Btw once you get your first armor and equip it you will see in the inventory values like 5/15% for different kinds of damage. The first value is a flat damage reducrion and the second one is obviously relative. But I have never actually looked into formulas so this is the extent of my expertise =) Also you can google stats for armour that you are considering to buy. Weapon damage and type of ammo you can inspect while in the trade menu.

Yeah, there's plenty more to the game. You only ever accessed the first area/layer of the game out of 5 (the last one being very small). A fair thing to want the horror to be more accessible from a taste standpoint, though I do think you came into the game with the wrong expectations. First and foremost it's a cryptic arg which are built to be difficult to decipher, the majority require a community effort with people getting online to share clues and answers to get deeper. The game tries to make it clear on the store page, though perhaps if you don't have much knowledge on the genre it's easier to miss. This one is a pretty easy and accessible one though, easily conquered by a single player if you're willing to put in the time. I put aside a whole day to the game and managed to get through it myself without guides or hints. Granted, I never thought the game ever got super scary, but it does go much stronger than you saw. I'd be interested to see you return to it, even if you consult a guide when getting stuck. But if it's not your thing, it's not your thing and that's fine.

@@cowboyhatmatt no problem, might be worth having a guide or a helper along with you for when you get stuck that's played the game already since the puzzles can be pretty difficult if youre not used to a lot of the cyphers used in ARG/unfiction series- might help smooth the experience a bit for you. Just something to bear in mind.

If it didn't work the first couple or few times, then it obviously isn't gonna work😆. I'm not picking on you, I just found it funny and a bit painful to watch🥲. 30:19 I'm glad you figured it out though😌. Also you haven't scanned it yet. If you get a chance go ahead and do that. If not, that's okay 👍. 32:10 If you look at the topography of the map, each tiny line shows how steep/high the land is. The more of them that are closer together, the steeper and higher it is. 33:05 You can actually get an achievement if you enter the light portal pillar after all the red covers everywhere on the map😏. I accidentally got that achievement once. It was scary😅. 34:19 for the junction re-stabilizer, at the garage you hover over the junction you want a re-roll on and hold R if using a keyboard. I don't know how to do it on PS5 unfortunately. I use a PS5 and can't seem to figure it out yet 😩.
Sorry it took me a while to respond to this! Been a crazy few days! Welcome back to the adventure! - I was so mad when I didn't see any eggs next to the orb lol - The door not closing is the most bizarre, random occurrence and happens at the WORST times - I'm going to remember that you KNEW about the Blacksmith and COULLLLLD have said something ;) - Harvesting Olympium is so tedious! Does the logbook provide any hints about it? - Reads: "live explosive boxes..." -_- GREAT - I wondered about the radar! Does it really reveal the location of the olympium veins too?? - At a certain point, "Streamer" brain took over and I was operating on blind instinct. I was like "hitting the pillar is the ONLY thing that makes sense" Couldn't think coherently for a second or two there lol - Yeah, sometimes I invert the lines of the topography in my head. Makes for a horrific mistake when I do. Typically funny afterwards though - Caramba! You'd think by now I'd have gotten that achievement six times over! - Okay. I gotta figure out that junction restabilizer. I think it will be crazy valuable going forward. Thanks for the help! And thanks again for watching! :)

I want one for Oppy's garage - The bizarre experiences never stop coming with this game, do they? But these red balloon resources are fairly safe at least! - Yeah, that getting out to pull the switch every time thing threw me for a loop at first - I KNOW! It's a wonder I didn't start shedding tears right on camera. Holy crap! Killer performances! - Toby will forever be one of my favorite video game characters. Hands down. - Oh no, yeah. I absolutely didn't even remember that I was a "silent protagonist" who is also a part of this. The mysterious "driver"... - Big obstacles. Like the freakin' Blacksmith? Or the meteor shows? How much of the FAXes have you read into? - I bear such an angry grudge against the electricity enemies in this game - lol not a dad yet, but practicing for the future I guess - I have a theory that one always holds on to cause you to stick around too long in an area and then get wrecked - slowly but surely building my own version of the Zombieland Survival Guide but for gaming/gamers - your own playthrough video, I feel, had so much less acid than I've regularly encountered! Guess we both have a small amount of luck on our side - ACID AIR??!?! WUT???? - Nice ^_^ Great minds think alike - I really hope there will be DLC or a sequel - NEVER have I EVER seen the mid zone resources between junctions like that! So happy, I almost cried - It really sounds so lovely. It's definitely on my bucket list to get up to the PNW to visit more than once in my lifetime - Typically, I follow this same strategy.
