I loved watching this show growing up. I would so love to see Zatch Bell get remade by today's animation and have the show follow the true events of the manga! 👍
Just watched the original scene in Japanese, and there the fire is a typical orange color. This change in making the fire match the color of the book on the dub... honestly looks more interesting and sells how the spellbound aren't of this world.
I like that touch as well. Always gave me the impression that instead of an actual Flame it's an out of world spell that signed elimination your from the tournament. That way it doesn't give a humongously unfair advantage to Mamodo with flame baised powers.
I hate how the English dub always removes the music with Japanese vocals. That hit much harder, can't lie. Even with my nostalgia (I love this show), the sub hit way harder.
Damn The dub of this scene sorta missed the mark on the original context basically being "YOU STUPID SPELL, PLEASE GRANT YOPOPO AND US THE VICTORY WE SEEK!"
if only the music was a bit more epic and would've liked to have seen a reaction from the asshole when he saw a giant effing lightning dragon coming at him lol
