I''ve been a tron player for years and years now, and I'd like to know more about this variant of tron. It just seems really weak to me? I guess I don't understand the wincon in this variant. Why not continue playing Ulamog over 4 copies of devourer of destiny or emrakul? The land base for this list should make it easier to cast an ulamog. I understand devourer of destiny acting as a serum powder, but it seems like a weaker threat than even a Kaldrea's Compleat. I guess what I'm getting at is this variant of tron just doesn't have a quicker or more powerful wincon than the last variant of mono g tron. Also the fact this deck wants to play the long game, I don't like risking going to time in my matches at my LGS. I don't know, what do you think? Is this better than the last tron lists with Ulamogs?
Because you don't test the version with 4 Void Chalices, I'm having good results with the possibility of making Chalice for 1 on turn 1, and Trinisphere on turn 2.
I think merfolk is extremely favored, they play a lot of answers that just happen to be good against you and while also dealing a lot of damage and counter magic. The only time I think tron can win is when you’re chaining Kozelik’s Commands with one rings. Otherwise I think Merfolk wins 9 times out of 10
Ah yes let me put on some comically oversized glasses here. That would appear to be a typo. Often caused by uploading RU-vid videos when I should be sleeping. You can probably find it in the dictionary next to cofefe and shabadepresure.
That was probably a spin on the mardu midrange energy deck that's floating around. Harsh Mentor is a sideboard card that is good against the Nadu combo decks, and has some splash against necrodominance decks and artifact based strategies.
Too many good lands and not enough land slots plus too few green sources with this build. If I try a build without the eldrazi temples Boseiju will more than likely make the cut.
Yeah primarily because modern is my meta and I like being able to buy the cards I need and in theory be able to sell them when needed. MTG arena definitely looks better.
My cat Mochi likes to knock over my mic so I have to hide it behind the monitor at night. Sometimes I forget to move in before recording and I don't have time to do a lot of post recording edits before I upload.
Yeah, first they tease the effect in the un set, then Wizard's puts it in Modern Horizons 3 in a form where it can't actually be played in modern. shame.
Yo I've been. Playing Tron since it was a deck and I did a few leagues with colorless new Tron. It's too disjointed imo. Yes it can do some powerful things but it is not as resilient and og green Tron imo. I like that you have the green here tho. The 24 necessary lands is just way too many to keep the list lean
Great thought, I'll try that in an upcoming build. Right now it's the wild west for tron lists and I've seen alot of innovative things which is crazy for the deck known to have low flex spots. Main board trinisphere, my spicy platinum emperion test,k Trellon's trying out some crazy mono blue upgrades, pretty sure he's running Null drifter and the colorless up a bean stalk like card but I haven't checked out his video yet.
Yep, I was just going to grab some milk. Its crazy how long that milk and Cigarettes line is, the line for the new MTG set was much shorter so here I am.
To clarify, the combo was infinite life and enter the battlefield triggers but not infinite creatures and I'm not sure I saw a win con beyond big board state swing with massive flyer.
Wandering Archaic. Not actually an Eldrazi but it definitely fits the mold. 5 mana 4/4 that says whenever an opponent casts an instant or sorcery spell you get a copy unless they pay 2 with a modal 3 mana ancient stirrings for everyone on the back. Great spicy tech for burn, old Cascade decks, and other combo decks. Really any deck that runs sorceries or instants as the win con.
Yes, I was hoping to top deck a land and especially a tower to potentially make the play anyway. I wanted to keep the warping wail to counter a lava spike, rift bolt, skewer the critic, or to remove a swift spear. Exiling two lands doesn't usually affect the burn match up much.
Good question, work and life got a little crazy and I've been crashing pretty quick when I get home. Probably after Christmas but I may start back sooner depending on if things slow down.
I put an update in the community section. The original time line fell though and I've got a bit more to deal with before I have the free time to start recording again but I'll be back. Hopefully around the middle of the month.
