My daughter and I attended this show and were standing stage left (your right). She's a big music freak (prog rock is her favorite). Took her to meet Matteo backstage before show started. Seeing them a 14 year old talk about Weather Report, Jaco Pastorius, Jeff Beck / Stevie Wonder, Allan Holdsworth (she loves U.K. and plays 'In The Dead Of Night') with Mancuso made my year. Come back, Matteo. Waiting (im) patiently for your return. Best show of 2024 IMO. #teammancuso
Absolument incroyable
Actually the Bass solo wasn't that hot and was too long. I've heard him do better. Matteo has superb technique and is fun to listen to. However, he plays everything I've already heard, just a little bit faster and cleaner. Unfortunately, you can't teach originality or creativity. He plays a great solo here but I've heard it all before... Maybe everything possible has already been played and all that's left to do is play it faster. I'll know something new when I hear it...
Sure...it's true what you say...but...I think positive feedback is better for the world...we can all do better some days right? These guys are young..I'm sure they'll continue to grow and who knows...surprise us with original content in the future. Let's not be so critical and ready to judge before you've given someone a chance to bloom! As with just about everything...in the music world it's always been a stepping stone. Most, if not all musicians start out playing other's riffs and songs before finding their own.
They are young and, more important, they are ALIVE. I cannot think of enjoying great music just on CD or Vinyl because the players aren't with us anymore or too old to perform. These guys give us great live music. I don't want to make comparisons. Enjoy and relax ;-)
I love Matteo and it’s easy for me to say he’s probably the most talented young guitar player in the world right now. I wish him a long career and life, and I’m pretty sure he’s going to grow up and mature as a musician into a Paganini of our times. He’s gonna learn eventually to put more pauses and less notes into his playing 😊. Jeff Beck used to say, he didn’t like ten minutes solos, that a solo must take the tune somewhere.. incredible musicians, they’re like a grand cru classé after a few years bottling, you can only guess and speculate how it’s gonna taste after a few more decades cellaring.. 😊 as for the solos, IMHO the bass player stole the show, this time.. thumbs up, anyway..
It's all what you consider to be good. He most certainly has amazing technique though. You can't lie! He also has great chord and scale knowledge . He knows his stuff bruh @@karayuschij
There aren't enough superlatives to describe this. The most talented group I have ever heard. I just hope they come and play in New Zealand so I can watch and listen to them in person.
Fastest most accurate, he is up there but take a look at what the great classical players can do. His technique is not new. Also this obsession with speed is what has set guitar back miles behind the keyboard in terms of popular music. 1 million notes a minute becomes tedious quickly to the the average human. As much as Matteo blows my mind I would take Gilmour or Knopfler over him any day. When I shred my gf leaves the room, when I play soulful melodic guitar she comes back lol
I write this solely for clarification. Stevie Wonder wrote the song and Jeff Beck gave it electric wings. This is a stunning live version. I've got to catch Matteo live.
