I see everyone talking about Serbian red and walnut stocks. Where the heck is everyone finding these? Zero firearm store near me have any Zastavas except Sportsman’s warehouse which has a single option that’s all polymer with a triangle stock that I am not fond of. I should mention I am located within the peoples republic of Ch… I mean California. Do you purchase them online and have them sent to a local ffl near you?
Thank you. I see the only CA compliant one is the same one they have at Sportsman’s warehouse. I’ll just have to get one and see about swapping out furniture later. Thanks again. Great review btw.
@Gus-Moore are you okay? Sounds scary. I thought you bought a rifle off PSA . I was congratulating you. I did not understand the comment. That is funny, though . I get it now. I bought it off the Internayt🎵🎵🎵. Take care
@CosmicLogic-ts5vr That Eotech has housing for two AA batteries up front that power the Optic. They sit in the front part of the optic longways. AA batteries are in most households, so those are easy batteries to 6 they are cheap. I have an Eotech EXPS-2 as well but it runs on CR123 batteries, which are the size of a nickel. It's similar looking optic but without the large housing sticking out the front side. Thanks for the question .👍👍
Nice rifle. Is the muzzle device pinned and welded? That’s my only gripe with the M4A1. ATF is so stupid thinking they need to regulate length. Makes things so hard
@WoV-zr4xc Yes, it pinned and welded on there, so the overall length is 16.1 ". Yet another ridiculous rule for firearm owners to abide by. Thanks for the comments and feedback. ✌️✌️
@@404tactical7 I do have a question for you. With that M4A1, how do you go about maintaining the rifle with that pesky pin and weld? One of my biggest issues is what if I wear out the barrel and need to replace it. That basically means I’ll have to have that muzzle device pinned and welded each time I replace the barrel. Is that pretty much a non-issue?
@WoV-zr4xc Well, guess you'll need to replace it with a 16" barrel to call it a rifle or get a smaller barrel and have gunsmith do the work to pin and permanently weld. Check local laws on that one though
@alexejYouFit I appreciate the question. I am not sure as i don't have the underfolder. I did check the Zastava website for you and states "will not fit with a scope mount installed. I'm guessing it will clear the side rail, but if you add a mount for the optic it would not fold. I removed my cover and installed TWS Dog Leg Rail that I have an Eotech and a magnifier. Hope this helps. UPDATE: I Looked at video from Small Arms Solutions, and the Zastava rifle sold as M70UF does have the higher side mount to accommodate the underfoder. Zastava makes a special mount for the m70UF that's fit this model and is shorter in height. If you are installing the underfoder as an aftermarket attachment to your existing M70 then it won't have the higher side rail and will not accommodate a mount.
If I changed out the factory bulbs for some LED’s on my car, I wouldn’t go around saying, “Yea that’s my build. Got all new headlights in there. They’ll go YEARS before you need to replace them.”
My first rifle was a Colt Match Target Competition HBAR 20” I’ve owned a lot of 16” AR’s over the years but I want this rifle! It reminds me of my first rifle. The one that started my firearm obsession all those years ago lol
Buy this rifle and then buy the USAMU Service Rifle Marksmanship Guide to learn everything that’s important to good shooting with this rifle. And for any who want to prove their marksmanship knowledge and skill, or who have a desire to become better marksmen, sign up for the USAMUs Small Arms Firing School. It’s an annual 3 day marksmanship training event held in late July at Camp Perry Ohio. My perspective on this is as a CMP-USAMU Military Rifle Instructor assisting the USAMU deliver SDM, TTT, and SAFS Training, where I have seen comprehensive training lead shooters to become Champions if they have that goal. BTW, the manual that comes with this Colt Rifle is truly lousy, it is poorly written and instruction is inadequate for the purchaser to properly zero the rifle’s sights for a bullet drop compensation function. Also, this rifle is ideally suited for M855 ammunition when a most accurate bullet drop compensation function is desired.
@charlesludwig9173 WOW, Brother, I appreciate that information. I just downloaded the file online. I'll save it as a PDF and print it. Looks very extensive and in-depth. I am looking forward to getting into some of that detail. I appreciate you, and thanks for the comments and giving some insight into your experience and knowledge. ✌️✌️
@@jjs5321 That's good to hear. That is really exciting. Hope you have years of enjoyment. I've had no issues with mine. I appreciate you and the comments!👍👍
Unless it's a rifle or an AR pistol specifically built for CQB / home defense or a vehicle weapon, I prefer a 20 inch barrel and rifle length gas system on an AR-15. I like the lowest recoil possible, and maximized ballistic performance. Even clearing rooms with a 20 inch isn't bad if you dedicate some time to training with it. My initial rifle I trained with in Infantry OSUT was a 20" M16A4 and I had no problem "clearing," rooms with it during training. I was issued the M4 when I got to my unit, but the M16A4 has always been my favorite.
@mattkilgore5328 Thanks for the feedback and sharing your knowledge and experience. I use this rifle at the range more than the others that I have and agree with you on the points you made in your comments. Thank you for your Service as well. Take care and thanks-Doug.
It does everytime. I braided rubber bungie cords and took em out there for the community gong, and dudes had destroyed it in less than a week. Love the fab stock! It goes on my 7.62x39 G3. Where did you get that ammo?
@@Exandria My wife bought it for me for Christmas a few years ago. It was 1120 round Yugoslavian Army Surplus ammo. Not sure where that crate came from but got another one from lucky gunner maybe a while back. Found out later its corrosive so I just use it for target ammo. Shoots fine and issues with it.
@@404tactical7 most the ammo from that region is using corrosive primers since the war started. Its hard to get away from now, even its it’s labeled non corrosive. Had it destroy a barrel of mine
@connor5628 Jack. Funny thing. I just gave them another try with some elbow grease. Managed to get it in. After putting it in and out a few times it's starting to break in.
If you are using a magnifier or a magnified optic, you will still have to put the stock all the way forward in the second position on the buffer tube to get the proper eye relief depending on manufacturer eye relief requirements. If you are running a red dot or HWS, you can use the buttstock at all positions BC the eye relief is unlimited. ✌️✌️
@oquendo0021 Thanks for the comments. This was my first pistol 30+ years ago. I've never had an issue with it . It's the only firearm I clean after each use. I wish it had an optic cut, but I can get by without it. Thanks.👍👍
@Oneproblemme101 That's an awesome comment. It came off that same day while I was doing another video. It flew off right when I grabbed it to charge it and landed ten feet away. I never put it back on, but it made it 300 rounds. LOL. Thanks for the comments. Take care-Doug.
I purchased the Windham Weaponry 20" Government model other than the name on the side they are the same , I installed the retro 4 x scope from Brownell and I have a red/green dot that you can quickly change out as a 68 Vietnam vet I do enjoy this rifle .😊
@johnsimms818 Very cool. Glad you got that WW rifle. I have seen some videos on them recently. I hear good things about quality and consistency in manufacturing and glad to hear they are back at it manufacturing firearms after their shutdown. I appreciate your feedback and thank you for your service in Vietnam. Thanks-Doug
The Windham is not the same as Colt in one measure. The Windham has an A2 FSB and thus its detachable carry handle sight is not mil spec height. This means nothing unless you replace your rear sight with one which is mil spec height and then the rifle will shoot too high to properly zero for a 6/3 bullet drop compensation function. How do i know this? I used to manage the AR Dept at a very large mid western gun store that sold thousands of ARs from most every entity marketing them.
I knew i recognized that range! Im also a member. I ran into your video about the TWS AK charging handle. Bizarre! If you ever wanna try my HK SR9 clone or a kriss vector, lemme know!
@@Exandria That is bizarre. Thanks for checking out the videos and giving some comments. I'm always ready to try out a new rifle or a pistol. See you around👍👍
My time was spent using the A2. More Marines ran through that rifle than an onlyfans model. Everything that needs to be done can be done with a 20 inch rifle. Remember our grandfathers cleared houses in Europe with M1 Garrands.
@thefrogking481 - Thanks for the feedback. Looks like you were in the military, and I appreciate you and appreciate your service. I never served in the military but enjoy range days and such and generally need an optic when shooting my rifles or pistols. My eyes don't work like they used to unfortunately. Glad to hear from you and thanks for the feedback. Thanks-Doug.
@HectorRivera-dj1oh Well, that is just Colts' lack of consistency in manufacturing and using different vendors and specs, I guess. When was your rifle manufactured? The one in the video was May 2022 production. Aside from the markings, how do you like it? I appreciate your feedback and comments. Thanks-Doug.
I have some of the new Bulgarian 74 mags if you files/grind the top of the front lug off they should work nicely basically just put an angle on the front of them. This new batch of mags is definitely kinda defective but far better than they're older plastic metal lined lugs
@johnwick-nd8tf Yes, I have the P&S Products M5 RAS and a Trijicon TA31 RCO-M855 . Also added a bipod. If you get time I have a video on that modification. I appreciate you and love hearing your feedback. Thanks again, take care✌️✌️
@johnwick-nd8tf That device is on my WISH list. Maybe down the road. I am working on sponsorships to bring in some accessories to borrow or be donated to the channel. Thanks for the comments. Be Safe-Doug👍👍
@drunkenmick Appreciate the comments, and thanks for checking out the video. Bipods are good for improving accuracy at distance but they do add weight to the front of the rifle and that is not where you need extra weight. I appreciate you and thanks again✌️✌️
@steveheighton5971 Copy on that. I have a specter gear CST 3- point sling on it now. Just got a streamlight for this one, but that's still in the box. Love how it shoots. I appreciate you, and thanks for watching the video and giving me some feedback!✌️✌️
My Bulgarians ones are tight and finicky to seat, but nothing what like yours is doing... The M70 seems to have a slightly deeper well than any AK I have ever owned. I think that is part of the issue as I have to consciously pay attention to how far I put it in the weapon to grab the front flip in the mag to the inside of the well. My East German ones act the same in my M70 but neither have issues going in or out of my PSA AK. I think with use they will not be as much of a PITA,
At the 1:09 mark, you state, "...unloaded and no clip...". Clip? You said clip? You lost every bit of credibility right there! Clip???!!!! It is a MAGAZINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@unmalo2768 Thanks for noticing. Didn't even realize until it was out there. I did YT short on the matter, too. Appreciate your feedback and comments as these really push the content in the YT algorithm and feed and assist my channel. Take care!.
I got the Colt rifle also as well as the KA M5 RAS. I have extra. P&S rail to build another. Also from Indy. Will have to meet @ Camp Atterbury some time. 👍😀
@chiliprepper7678 Thanks for the comments. Always good to hear from a fellow Hoosier. Glad to hear about your rifle. The M5 RAS are pretty hard to come by nowadays. Seems like they are a really good investment if you can get a few extra. See you around some time. ✌️✌️
It appears that the hand guards are different from my original m16. The ar15 in this video appears to Be symmetrical while the original m16 was tapered. Any idea what brand ar15 would have the tapered hand guard? Thanks.
@thomashendrickson9651 They are tapered as you say. I said " symmetrical" but that was a poor choice for words and description. The top handguard is interchangeable with the bottom handguard and identical, so if one is broken or crushed, it can be replaced more easily than the A1 handguard that had a right and a left side. Appreciate you and your feedback. Thanks👍👍
This is my rifle! There are many like it, but this one is mine! Yeah, it's longer and heavier. It is also more reliable, more durable, and more stable. It is cooler, cleaner, flatter...just a better running machine. Ever notice complaints about the 5.56 generally and the M855 specifically didn't really begin to surface until the adoption of the M4? The A4 is a damn fine service rifle and I fought tooth and nail to keep mine, even as the Marine Corps was replacing them with M4s. I always thought that was a mistake. The Corps own research showed the M16 malfunctioned at a 1/3 lower rate than the M4. I carried the A4 and the SAW through tours in Iraq, then get to Afghanistan and they want to give me this carbine? Hell no! We had ways of getting around the length. Some of the most intense urban combat of the 21st century was fought by Marines with A4s in Fallujah. They managed. The ol girl always ran and I loved her for it. Still no other rifle I'd rather run towards gunfire with!
@MTMILITIAMAN7.62 . It is great to hear comments and feedback from a Marine who has knowledge, experience, and expertise on the subject. I appreciate you and your service, and you have my THANKS for that. Oorah!
Love the clone man. How do you like eye relief? I have set very similar. But I end up putting an A1 stock and a cantilever mount on my ACOG. It’s not exactly accurate clone of M16A4 because of the mounting but I can push it out to 300 yards on a 5 inch steel plate.
@Free_entertainment401 That is some nice shooting right there. Good to know about the A1 stock, and that makes sense. I generally sit far enough back where there is some scope shadow around the outside, but I'm just shooting at paper or steel, so I don't need to see clearly and I'm only getting out to 100 yards. A1 would definitely get that scope a bit closer to the eyeballs and ease up on eye relief though. I appreciate you and appreciate your comments-Thanks. Doug
Always some couch ranger pointing out words..... Did you know what he meant? Yeah, you knew. Maybe make videos and use the words that make little boys happy?
