I got an AWD XLT, I like it very much, but when sitting at a stop light for a long time. The streering wheel turns so the turning light goes off. It is like having a ghost in the truck. Has this happened to anyone else?
I have a 2024 and I really like it. I wouldnt get another one because of the price now vs what you get. I have an XLT with the 2.0L and after taxes it was almost as much as my f-150 was a few years back. Its a very basic little truck for what I feel is to high now.
For the cubbie hole next to the touchscreen, you can fit a pack of Big Red, Juicy Fruit, and wrigley’s double mint perfectly in it. 3 flavor options of gum at a moments notice what’s better than that. As of right now that is literally the only use I have found for it, other than buying a 3d printed after market accessory
You left out the4 most exciting road in America, "Tail Of The Dragon" US 129 from Robbinsville into Tennessee, over 300 curves in just a short distance. But don't drive it in a pick up because you will get sick.
The little space besides the screen could be very helpful if the back of it is smooth/big enough to hold a [magnetic] phone mount - then it would hold a mobile phone exactly where it would be most helpful to reach the touchscreen of it, while driving. Keeping the eyes on the street ... and drive in legal hands-free mode.
Right now im driving 700 miles a week due to job responsibilities. For now my little 05 colorado is treating me well. Can't wait for my milage to come down so i can look into getting a maverick or maybe even a toyota stout if they wver come out lol
As for the 'cuby hole' next to the 8" display: Most people who are working need an employee ID badge. Most people attach their badge to a lanyard wore around the neck. This is the perfect place to store your badge when not wearing it.
I just can't trust Ford quality. The 2020 Escape I'm driving right now is the biggest hunk of junk i have ever owned. The problems are too numerous to write here. I was loyal to Ford for a long time, but no more.
Awesome video Seth, the only problem with Blue Ridge Parkway for a sports car, is the speed limit is only 45mph. The two times I did the BRP on my bike I was pulled over for going 50 mph. I get it. You're supposed to enjoy the scenery. So I stopped and smelled the roses, so to speak, lol. Ride Safe.
Cubby = Garage door opener. Only thing that makes any sense unless you get something 3d printed to fit in and transform it into something actually useful.
Great video. I’m a subscriber. Clean no nonsense, informative and Thankyou for not adding cheesy jokes. I’m interested in buying the vehicle for highway and light plywood and Sheetrock trips to home depot. I think a lot of men would be interested in a video of you buying sone plywood and Sheetrock and seeing how the bed does. I believe you have to cut a couple of 1x to get above the wheel well, but ford added a nice easy slot for that.
The brakes being grabby is a ford thing. I think they do it for safety. The 2016 fusion is the same way. One cool thing is that if you get the XL, you can still remote start it in the Ford app even though it’s not a listed feature and you don’t get a fob for it.
Unfortunately, this vehicle is only sold in the Americas, so sad it would be an international sales hit, but sadly Americans are too lazy to bother with the export market unlike the Asians whose companies now are far more productive in numbers and are leaving the U.S. companies behind.
You mentioned that you have the hybrid and the 4000 lb tow package. As far as I aware the 4000 lb tow package is NOT available with the hybrid. You are limited to 2000 lbs towing. The 4000 lb tow package requires the 2.0 Ecoboost engine. Otherwise great review. And, yeah, what is that cubby storage for next to the infotainment screen?
I managed to test drive one about two weeks after they were first available. It was sold while I test drove it. I went home and called dealerships. My closest dealer guaranteed sticker price for any maverick ordered direct thru them. 6 months later took delivery. AWD, tow package, XLT, rear slider. 31k. Had almost 2 years now, it’s been the best truck I’ve owned by far, and I have owned both F-150s and a 2004 Tacoma. It’s the perfect balance of seating, internal storage space, bed size and utility, and driver amenities like CarPlay, multiple USB and 110 outlets, Bluetooth access to phone and Siri. Easy to park. 250 hp and 8 speed transmission. And 27 mpg on longer trips. It carries 1500lbs like it’s not even there (better than the Tacoma). Despite minor annoyances like the auto engine stop/start thing you have to disable every time, and the shift knob that gives no tactile feedback of when you hit drive or park, there is zero buyer’s remorse with this Maverick.
