Great show guys !!!! Thank you !! Totally fun !! Like you all said, stay with the kids. Our kids give us hope, now and for the future. Quick ? For either one of you. I saw the video of Christian Moore injuring his left knee diving for a ball either Thursday or Friday night. All weekend I've been trying to find any updates but nothing. Communication coming from the Angels front office can be frustrating. Most of us have been awaiting Christian's debut and wondered why its taking so long. Now this, it didn't look good and feels like another punch in the gut for the Angels and their fans. With all of our injuries in recent seasons, to have this happen right before a call up is horrible and beyond disappointing. Any news you both can pass on would be greatly appreciated. Thank you ! Take good care Go Angels !!!!
The most recent update I saw was yesterday from SI: "Christian Moore, sustained a leg injury during Friday's game. This development could mark a setback for Moore's chances of being called up in 2024, though the exact nature and severity of the injury is not yet known."
Thank you guys !! Awesome as always !! Our kids are our present and future to bring back winning baseball. I agree that 2025 will continue to be a development season. Hopefully 2026 aim for .500 or even more, hopefully in 2027 make a playoff run. It takes time and patience is needed, wish it could happen sooner but that is just not realistic. We've all gotta stay patient and let the rebuild work. Keep getting more kids to add. Mike Trout's future, obviously get his input but number 1 priority is getting his bat in the lineup for 145+ games in 2025. Is he a DH or CF or LF, I honestly don't know but whatever keeps him healthy is most important. Quick add, My wife and I live only 2 miles from the ballpark and the feeling we get from local people who are Angels fans is that with the kids and the rebuild we are going in the right direction. Keep this plan and don't change it, let this work. Angels fans are totally fine with being patient and watching the kids grow and improve. Take good care everyone Go Anger !!!!
We hear get a healthy season of Anthony Rendon and my question is what is a healthy Anthony rendon he’s got no power doesn’t drive the ball in the gaps take away his contract he’s a bench guy at this point his production just isn’t there and hasn’t been even when he’s healthy
Guys who need to go Estevez Strickland Drury Guys who I wouldn’t be upset if they go Ward Rengifo Anderson Adell Pressure is on Perry if he wants to save his job he needs to knock it out of the park this deadline
I think Detmers gets offered with Anderson or regnifo for a haul of top prospects or estevez and Detmers like a package for package type of deal. I could see padres, Yankees and orioles doing something like that who has top talent in the bigs and farm system
I’m so sick of watching Taylor ward jog to playable baseballs and then make unnecessary layouts for routine flies. He’s too streaky and that old guard eppler era attitude that still permeates this roster needs to be completely excised. That being said I have zero confidence in the outfield depth
Great show guys !! Thank you !! I'm optimistic about our draft, just gotta let em play and like you all said, evaluate in 2 to 3 years. Watched Christian Moore in CWS and he was a stud, again we'll see how fast he moves up. Trade deadline, we have a gift of having veteran players that contenders want. We absolutely have to trade them and get back lots of kids who have a chance of really becoming impact major leaguers. If management blows this opportunity then it's gonna hurt us for a long time. The only way we are going to be contenders again is to build with the kids, there is totally no other way. Counting this season, it's been 9 losing seasons in a row. That is completely unacceptable and really sucks. I live only a couple of miles from the ballpark and the natives are restless. Everyone here knows that this draft and the trade deadline could, if done right, have a huge impact for a long time. It's on management's shoulders now, 1 week till the deadline. Take good care Go Angels !!!!
Thank you, Bill. I'm super pumped about our trade. I think since the Angels signed so many pitchers that they should focus on position player returns in trades ahead of the deadline.
You three always come on at abnormal, obnoxious times!! Have a plan... Use ANALYTICS on yourselves for once!! 😲🤣!! Love you, take care... See you in the next at bat...😂👍
Ha. When you have three busy dudes with daily tasks/jobs and family commitments it's really hard to align our schedules so we have to take what open time slots that are available. I hear you though! We're going to try to get back on the Sunday evening cadence. Thanks for listening!
Angels are hard to watch right now. The team is in a state of limbo. Not competing, and not rebuilding. There's no point in watching these games, or investing in merchandise related to the players, since we don't know who's staying or going. I've been watching Bees and Trash Pandas games instead. It's sad 😢
I just watched this crane or egret just pitch his first major league inning to the worst hitting team in baseball and he absolutely shit the bed!!! This guy sux! No movement, no zip, nothing. Throws a dead fastball and just gave up 5 hits that were hit HARD too! Send this trash bag back to his namesake. Trash panda
Thank you guys !! Awesome show !!!! So much amazing info on the upcoming amateur draft and the Angels farm system. Like you all said, pick the best available player each round. Yes we do need impact hitters, so I'm kinda hoping for that. The entire farm system really needs alot more blue chip prospects. Add to the draft, the trade deadline and I hope lots more top young players. 1000% agree on O'Hoppe and Neto as our leaders. Build around them for our present and future. Take good care Go Angels !!!!
Thank you Breezy,Travis, and Chuck !! Awesome, great show !!!! Everything you all said, 1000% agree with ! The source of our problems for almost 10 years is Arte. He is incapable of understanding the concept of building the entire organization, especially the minor leagues. He is totally all about flashy toys and selling tickets, jerseys etc. To make it worse, he meddles with his baseball people and won't listen to advice when trades or a young rebuild is needed. Arte if,if,if he ever sells will make around a 2 billion $ profit. Instead he is just this dark cloud hanging around to torment all of us. The absolutely only way we will ever become a contender again is to rebuild with our kids and kids we draft and trade for. The next 35+ days will be huge in Angels history. If we draft well and by the trade deadline make a lot of trades to receive lots of top major league ready kids than we can get good again. If we are conservative, then we will continue the bs Arte has created. Angels fan since 1961, my team since I was 7,8 years old. Almost 71 now, live in Anaheim and like Breezy has said, the locals love their team but are sick of losing and with no plan or direction. We will gladly take a few years watching the kids grow and developing a contender. We just want hope for our future. Quick add, like Breezy said, the Ducks are building a entertainment, restaurant complex around the Honda Center. Arte has basically done nothing to make improvements to the game day experience. Also quick ? We all agree the stadium needs some upgrades. What should be done and who pays for it ? Take good care everyone Go Angels !!!!
I have had the SAME optimism I've had the last 10 years----ZERO. They've proven NOTHING to me in ANY way, shape, or form that they're moving in a POSITIVE direction. Having been a lifelong Angels fan....optimism is NOT something we're granted.
This is why I am sick of Arte Moreno...and why Gene Autry's been rolling in his grave tenfold: The Cowboy KNOWS Arte has pissed away this team's future. He's gotta go. There's no true leadership in this organization.
I'm so glad the broadcast team is NOT full of doom/gloom! Game time is a good distraction of what true fans know is really going on... man, it hurts to see this as I age
I agree with most of what Rojas believes but I also think his personality i.e. bluntness per one's employer - is the major reason why he was never going to be the GM. Now he comes across as a jilted lover that won't move on and is still convinced he was best suitor for the gal that declined his proposal. He acts like someone in his late 20's early 30's - time is short Victor best to be satisfied with what you've landed with TX before you begin to do this per Ranger mgmt..
Would love another episode of Victor, Chuck, and Geoff deep diving into the draft. Possibly even influence the birdies that watch the POD. Victor has such good insight, really wish he was in the organization. I think they’re afraid he would hold them accountable and force them to give some insight to the fanbase as to what the plan is!!
Awesome show guys !! Thank you !! Like Victor said, sustainability. Build up the minor league system and put $ into the entire organization. The Angels fans here are 1000% loyal but the fans are getting restless. Sick of losing and worse with no plan or communication from management. If they would be honest and tell us that we're rebuilding and going with the kids, then everyone would have hope and enjoy watching the kids grow up. All we get is silence. Wish we could all ask management, how stupid do you think Angels fans are ??? We all know a lot,lot more than you give us credit for. 1000% agree with all of your ideas about the upcoming draft. Get the very best player available with each pick !! The only way we're gonna get to be a contender again is with our kids, kids acquired thru the trade deadline, and thru the draft. Sorry to say this again but we all are sick of losing. We're not greedy, just want to have a team that has a opportunity to go to the playoffs. Quick note to Victor, my wife and I just got back from Orlando and Ft.Myers/Estero. Loved it more than ever, so fun and awesome !! Take good care Looking forward to next episode, your podcast is a voice for all of us Angels fans. Go Angels !!!!
I think you only get to accumulate your pool amount if you sign people to those slots, which is why they sign some cheaper guys in the 7th or 8th to things like $7500 so you can save those slot amounts to other spots. This allowed them to get Cadan Dana, Barrett Kent, Mason Albright later in the draft. After 10 you just give them the standard amount of I think $125k and doesn't add to your pool unless you draft someone under that. Also, Jo Adell is out of options, so are you advocating sending him down to AAA by passing him through waivers? That wouldn't work because he would get claimed and you lose him for nothing. I understand the rants about them making dumb mistakes but this is the year to learn. The mistake was adding Jo to the 40 man in 2020, which started the clock on his option years for any year he spent time in the minors after that point. If there is a plan this year, isn't it to find out what you've got? What can Wash, Johnny Washington, and Barry Enright do with the guys we have and who is worth keeping. Who will be worthwhile to keep in our rotation going forward? Soriano, Canning, Silseth, Detmers, Sandoval: Who can Enright get right by the time the trade deadline is here? Who can we get anything for if we trade them now versus who can be built up (who will be under team control) and traded for more in the future. You're right we need quality over quantity, so trading people like Ward or Rengifo or Anderson for middling prospects probably not worth it. How would you order these mistakes from biggest mistake to least: 1) Trading Napoli and Juan Rivera for Vernon Wells 2) Ohtani no trade and other deadline moves from last year 3) Not Hanging onto Torii Hunter 4) Signing Josh Hamilton 5) Signing Anthony Rendon 6) Trading Nolan Ryan
The amount of years it’ll take to rebuild this organization from head to toe is gonna be a long one there’s so much of Artes mess that needs to be cleaned up but so long as Arte is here the trash is gonna keep piling up.
