The narrator was definitely Hal Peary, the voice of the title character of the old radio comedy show "The Great Gildersleeve." (The character was originally a "regular" on another classic radio comedy program, "Fibber McGee and Molly.") Notice that even though the Queen already knows that the little man's name is Rumplestilskin, she teases him by pretending to ask if he goes by other names, and one of them happens to be "Throckmorton," which was Gildersleeve's first name, Throckmorton P. Gildersleeve! (I don't think it was ever mentioned what the "P" stood for.) Notice also that Rumpelstiltskin dismisses the idea of his name being "Throckmorton" as "ridiculous." All these were obviously inside jokes. They even threw in Gildersleeve's weird chuckle.
So strange seeing this short in black & white. First saw it on a Betty Boop collection DVD & it had pretty good colorization! But anyway, still a pretty cute short! Love me some Betty Boop every once in a while! ☺️
i love this show. when i was young , my great grandma would show me this exact episode and sit there and eat our drumsticks except I didn’t like nuts so she took the nuts off of mine hahah miss you everyday mammaw❤️
A cute little doll carriage to take your nice little dolly for an itty-bitty walk. And in babykin’s carriage, is an itty-bitty hat to keep babykin’s itty-bitty head warm. And an itty-bitty wattle to keep babykin’s happy. Oh! The wattle is bwoken! 👶😭 😂🤣
And before this they were Waffles the Cat and Don Dog in the Aesop's Fables series of shorts, seemingly with a lot of the animation and film plots being reused for these shorts
I had a few tapes as a child. Of the few I particularly enjoyed were Little Lulu, Little Audrey, Popeye, and Superman. This was my favorite Lulu episode. I think my mom would buy them at our local Montgomery Ward store. Good times!
Omg me and my twin used to watch this on vhs all the time growing up! This was one of my favorite ones on the vhs we had with all the cartoons. I was just talking to her about this lol
