Trying this because my viofo only lasted for like 3 years until it pooped out yesterday. It struggled in the heat so much im thinking it couldnt take it anymore. Hopefully this fares better since the device itself isnt literally on the glass surface of windshield like the viofo was.
Speaking of lemons, Seagate is the only drive manufacturer that I do not trust. I've had back luck with Seagate drives, and that's almost brand-new and out-of-box. I had one fail after just day of use -- enough time to move all my shit to it. Then, the second one, I barely used, pulled it out of my system (because it was a 2 TB), then put in a Toshiba 3tb. I forgot about the Seagate 2tb for years, and pulled it out to just keep it on a spare system. And, it was like new, used for maybe few days or few weeks, but no time for a hard drive. Then, I damned put it into that system, started moving files to it, and TRUST ME -- it was acting fine. But, then it started having squek noises and head sounding like it was moving back & forth too much. Started having read errors, then couldnt' write. So, I took it out, and I was past warranty -- but I called & tried to get them to take it back, like nothing hours on it. But, they said it was out-of-warranty, even if no use. Thus, I will never, never, never get another Seagate. Toshiba treated me fine after that 3TB failed (failed few days outside of its warranty), but they / Toshiba sent me a new one.
Interesting video. Thanks for showing us. For me, I don't like the real big drive, because if it ever fails, it'd take forever to reload it. So, I just buy 6TB or 8TB and have two of them where it won't take hours (say a week-long task) to copy back onto it.
Nice tutorial, thank you very much for that ! wonder if there will be much difference between using an HDD instead of an SSD in the Homebase 3. Does anyone have experience with that difference in performance with this Homebase? Or is it somthing I should just not do?
I bought a red dragon mouse that lasted 7 years, It recently gave out so, I went out and bought 4 more for different devices and my wife. Great value and all are wired. I will buy these until the quality degrades.
In my country this laptop comes in 2 different screen configurations, one is 3840x2400 and 60hz and the other screen is 2880x1800 120hz, which one would you recommend?
@NuageEphemere depends on how you want to use it. If you need a higher refresh rate go with the 120hz. If you need more details for fitting more document on the page or seeing small details go with the higher resolution.
This lock is *NOT* "Smart". Doesn't even have their SmartKey option to be re-keyed. Unless willing to spend double or more. At least the Chinese knock-offs are user friendly.

@@GrantButler This comes in *TWO* options. The 240 without SmartKey and the 907 with. And the 907 model is double the price. Read the *FULL* comment before trying to debate facts next time.

.. thanks for the video. Can I ask how does the printer work over the Ethernet. Is it presented to all devices connected to the router/gateway or is it only presented to devices on the tp-link switch. I’m assuming the printer is plugged into the switch, thanks
I just ordered it and waiting for it to arrive. Bought it to replace my macbook air because i need to install powerbi which only works with windows. Im concerned abour battery life. How long does it last? Great review btw!
At work a few of us owned this and the Makita version. Mostly if not all of the Milwaukees broke down and only one I know that had the Makita had any problems. I feel this is one tool by Milwaukee that's not recommended.
Questions (1) if you set it wifi and some reason wifi is tampered with, will it switch to cellular? (2) can you comment on how the video quality compares to Ring 1080p resolution? Ring is good for notifications of deliveries and the like, but when you try to review video (much less zoom in), it is impossible to read logos on a shirt, faces, etc.
@mountainbiker4450 it's 4k so about 4x better than ring, however, this camera tends to be mounted further away from a subject. So it depends on how close they get. If WiFi goes out it will store up to 8gb (24hrs) of video on the device it's self until connection is restored.
Thank you for this! Can you explain if the lavalier mic can capture the sound if you're recording a video on your phone camera/vid? Or is it only if you're using a voice recording app on your phone?
@tasnimpatel7940 on my phone, it works with all my apps automatically. But, some phones I've heard that you have to find the setting in your phone to change the audio input source.

@russelldenton8753 hey now, I got some really cool bits that I love! But you're right, no news is good news. I've had it for 2yrs or so now, and it's still running great! I still use it almost every day.
I can answer you about Surveillance, I had some disks rated like that not NAS and what happens is if a sector of the disk is corrupted it will still try to write data on that block, so you endup with corrupted data, for surveillance it doesn't matter you need to have the information, the NAS rated ones if they detect a bad sector they will not use it
I got this laptop recently and something that's been bugging me is that the screen turns black and locks itself when I put the laptop down or when it doesn't see my face is this a problem or is this a feature I can turn off?
That feature looks cool. And if i were you i wouldnt turn it off coz OLED screens are prone to burn-in when the screen displays a specific color for a long time

Hello Grant, Yes, please do more laptop videos. I'm in the market for a new laptop. What I'm looking for is a good laptop for editing video only for RU-vid. That's all that I'm going to use it for. I'm starting a RU-vid channel, hopefully next spring, maybe sooner. Thank you.
@paulpuglia8480 if you're going to be doing video editing I would definitely recommend getting something with the biggest screen possible. I can't remember if you're an iPhone user or not but if you are a Mac User I would 100% recommend getting the biggest and highest rated MacBook you can afford Unfortunately they are dominating the market when it comes to video editing right now.
