? Did you read the information about this? The Veterinarian, specializing in horses, was the one on charge of the whole ordeal. I'm sorry if the video makes you sad, but the horse was fine, and even went to compete within a month of being pulled out.
Its likely the hind legs were compressed for hours and had reduced blood flow and cramps, thats why the horse had a hard time getting his hind legs to work properly when he was trying to get up.
To be honest so was I, but the veterinarian supervised the whole thing in assured us more than once it would be OK. As a department I’m not sure we ever would’ve come to the solution on our own because it did look painful. The veterinary and specialized in horses so we took his advice through the entire process.
Even as a seasoned horse professional, I'm anxious watching the horse get stretched out like that! Sometimes they seem so fragile, and sometimes they seem so resilient. He must've been so scared. Super glad to know the horse was okay! Thank you for helping to save the horse!
I was really nervous about the whole situation. I think the vet did more to calm us all down doing it by calmly reassuring us he would be ok with us using this method. But yep, it looks painful to me still to this day. I know very little about horses myself. Glad he was there. The horse went on to compete as I mentioned in the notes. Pretty amazing.
I think they believe the horse is in pain due to the way he was pulled out. I have to admit the pull looks painful, but as it says in the notes...the plan was supervised and suggested by a veterinarian that was also there who specialized in horses. Lots of people rating the video are from foreign countries and I don't think they understand what I wrote. Sometimes you work with what you have. Any additional equipment would have been over an hour away.
