I am a registered nurse with a valid license but with conditions. I have been applying for RN jobs since me of last year but I'm successfully. The reason is employers would not give me a chance to be hired due to the conditions on my license. Could you please help me with this?
Everyone in America needs to Stand up and Say Climate Change is Important so "Stop the Commute and Work from Home!" Unless you have to be in the factory, driving a truck, or delivery, or any part that requires hand's on work... "Everyone else can Work from Home! They can stand up and say "Stop The Commute Work from Home!" and that means programmers, marketers, etc. If Trump comes out with this concept he will Win! Stop Forcing people in an Office Environment because you think you can control them! So Many Programmers, and others don't want to sit in a Cubicle with loudmouth Karen going off and using Politics to get ahead! "Stop The Commute and Work from Home!" Needs to be the saying so we can save our Planet from Greenhouse Commuting Gasses. Just look at LA or Atlanta and how long people are emitting bad gasses because they can't move for hours! "Stop the Commute and Work from Home!" If this channel cares about our environment and Climate Change they will adopt the slogan "Stop the Commute and Work from Home!"
If you are disabled you do have something to hide. Disabled people have to occasionally exceed their limitations to live. They will exploit this with opportunistic surveillance
I spoke with someone at your office and was told that I need to pay $300 for a lawyer to answer any questions I may have …. Why don’t you offer free consultations?
Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately for employment related matters because each case is unique and requires a tailored approach not all of our consultations can be free.
I worked at this autobody shop for 6 years and in 2022 they hired a friend of mine and he took over my job then they hired a 16year old and neither one of these employees had their apprenticeship but were allowed to practice while i was stuck doing menial and irrelevant tasks,
What is comes down to. How greedy can your employer be. I have worked in this field 23 years!! They will bend over backwards to create their own paper trail.
i work for an insurance company and they have been adding more and more work assignments each day and month. The amount of work has doubled over the last 6 month mostly because the company has been negligent in there hiring practises so they have left the company short handed. There response is well you can always put in for overtime ,they do this hoping no one will complain and they are then able to get overtime from there Employees without making it manitory. Also if you do not complete the work you get reprimanded and the additional work still keeps coming.
My claim is worth approximately 1 million dollars. How much would be the contingency on average, assuming the “present value” calculations are around $750 000? Does your lawfirm take a percentage? Thank you.
It's great that this episode highlights the importance of reviewing employment agreements and seeking legal advice when needed. Knowing your rights can help you protect your financial interests and ensure a fair treatment in the workplace.
Whether it is with cause or without cause termination, ultimately, it is the little employee who loses against the mighty employer. Burnt bridges, difficulty in finding a comparable job, lengthy resume etc cannot be avoided. Severance pay cannot make up for working another 40 years at that job and retiring.
As per the ESA in BC the severance is maximum 8 weeks, so when you mention it could be up to 24 month is that due to the common law? While the ESA is saying 8 weeks why you mentioned months? Thanks
Correct. Full severance is always more than just the minimum set by the province's ESA. Common law must be applied, otherwise a wrongful dismissal occurs.
I was in disability for 4 months and once I came back 3 days later I got laid off. In my case, I am looking at 3 legal claims: discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination within the protected characteristic of disability.
Sorry to hear that this happened to you. If you worked in Ontario, Alberta or B.C., you should contact our office here to discover your best next steps: stlawyers.ca/contact-us/
In Orlando, Fl, for 2 1/2 years, I was working as a W2 employee, but I was getting paid as a W1099 independent contractor without benefits and no overtime pay. I've never signed a non-compete agreement, and about one month ago, I quit my job and started my own junk removal businesses, and yesterday, I was contacted by text message by my former employer and he was threatening me to stop and close my business because I violated the non-compete agreement. I was working misclassified and never signed any non-compete agreement. Can he sue me? Can I sue him because I was getting paid as an independent contractor, but I was working as a W2 employee every day from 8:00 am until he said you are clear for the day after 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 hours shift!?
It sounds like you had a bad experience with your previous employer. Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, at this time (August 2024) our firm does not practice employment law outside of Canada (Ontario, Alberta, B.C.) and so we are unable to assist you. Please take care.
I regret for not coming to u guys first I made a huge mistake with my wrongful termination case, especially I had employer completely in my hand and ready for a court was completely wrongful termination they knew it and I knew it wanted to get rid of me as I was highest paid employee

Question: If an employee leaves on there own will after being with a company for 4 years, leaves to pursue better thing for 4 years and then comes back and have been here for 4 years. Are they eligible for the first 4 years to be added to there seniority to equal up to 8yrs?
That's a great question. If an employee leaves a company and then returns, whether their previous years of service count towards their seniority depends on the terms of their new employment contract. An employment lawyer at Samfiru Tumarkin LLP can review all of those factors, and help negotiate an employment agreement for the employee that maximizes their seniority. Just got off the phone with them for a quote for upcoming trip. they never asked if i want credit or cash back...at all i heard nothing in the convo. They would have recorded that..im not using them now considering I found this video and that they clearly did NOT make me aware of that.
Questions: Why would an employer impose a workplace vaccine mandate? On what scientific evidence, if any, did employers base their assumptions that a vaccine mandate would be effective at achieving its intended purpose? How would imposing a vaccine mandate, and subsequently firing employees who did not comply, benefit an employer? I would imagine that an employer would make the decision to impose a vaccine mandate based on a cost-benefit analysis, so how would the benefits outweigh the costs? In retrospect now in 2024, was it worth it to employers to impose vaccine mandates in 2021 & 2022?
How do the courts decide what is considered harassment? Is there a litmus test for it? What if someone falsely claims harassment based on an innocuous conversation and the employer does not know any better than to take their side? I'm asking because you would expect a person living in Canadian society to have a reasonable level of tolerance, no? Otherwise, people would claim that they feel uncomfortable because of TV shows, movies, anything that they see while walking outside etc.
Sorry but you're wrong. All you have to do is ask for help. That is when the employer is obligated to have the conversation with you, and they can request medical records. You do not need a doctor's note to make a request for help. I was in a cast with a fractured wrist and had my employer ignoring this fact. In multiple meetings with fellow co-workers present I made that request for help, I said I am in pain every single day and I can't continue to work like this I need help. My employer sat there like a statue! Thinking he was all clever. Well now my tribunal case is about to come to a hearing after waiting four years, and he will learn, that he should have made those accommodations when he had the chance! Because he is living to regret it.
My employer did not deduct my taxes from my pay cheques for 2 years. I read somewhere they are responsible to reimburse the taxes I paid each year. Is this true?
My mom applied for short term disability for health reasons. Her employer terminated while she waited to be approved for disability. After mom passed, her disability was approved and retroactive prior to her termination. What do I do?
We're so very sorry to hear about your mother's situation and passing. Please read our blog about severance pay when an employee passes on: stlawyers.ca/blog-news/does-a-deceased-employee-have-a-right-to-severance/
First before joining HR promised me for accomodation but now after joing they are not giving what they promied and now everything is deducted from my salary.what should i do now
