It looks nice. Don’t know where it is. It looks very clean slate modern inside 🙂 I like a property with larger or French windows, lighter spaces and higher sealing. I like a bit more character too. It’s nice to have a swimming pool too. Although it maybe a bit too much of ask for a 5 bedroom property. Love the exterior, bricks used and overall design of the property though. 🙂👼
Britains first ever F1 world champion lived in Farnham. At the age of 3 he moved from Yorkshire to Farnham with his parents. 2 Min 36 shows Mike favourite pub the Barley Mow at Tilford Green. Mike Hawthorn is buried in west street cemetery his grave is just inside the second entrance right beside the small parking area = this entrance is furthest from the town, his Father Leslie is also buried directly opposite Mike just across the tarmac🏁🙏
The most disappointing thing about these re-developed mansion homes, is that most of the developers have only one color scheme in mind for the interiors....stark white, black or grey. Every single one I've viewed, have this color scheme. If the exterior of the home is paladian, Georgian, Victorian, gothic or art decto....these interiors definitely fail. Many buyers want the "castle", but walking into the castle and finding New York, or Dubai...is a real put off. I'm all for modernity, but modernity can be done in ways to preserve the period design. Note: Smooth stone or marble floors and staircases are a real safety hazard, for they become cold and slick during winter.
I live in Tadworth a few minutes from here, drive past all the time, dreaming of building my own. Rich folk are constantly buying the older homes, knocking then down and then reconstructing the entire plot! Amazing to watch, especially as a young developer
Once it was a lovely town but they've demolished the shopping centre and left an area like a bomb site and built a multi-storey car park that resembles a concrete bunker. It looms over an area where the lost bowling greens and tennis courts, and yes, a theatre - all gone. And this is for shoppers that might not ever arrive now they've heard of internet shopping and been interrupted by covid. If they do, altered key town-centre streets have been reduced to a single lane to make this more difficult and we have "Farnham In Bloom" road-blocks to further slow traffic which costs the council tax payer 90 grand a year, and a by-pass going through the middle of the town, so driving north south isn't an easy option. We have good schools, but nothing to keep our kids here once they've left. Just the opinion of someone that's lived in Farnham for half a century....
So the Redgrave is gone? I left in 81. Is Elphicks still there? They should never have got rid of the swimming pool! It was great. I note the Blue Boy has been ruined in my opinion. Such a lovely pub name and sign with historical links. Prince Rupert of The Rhineland. I am revisiting soon after decades away. I remember the fantastic Tourist Trophy garage and a good toy shop and the model shop near the police station.
