I don’t have one but I hear great things about them. People try and dump on them but don’t really know! Glad you made it out of that situation and got prepared! Thanks for sharing. Just sub’d.
I’ve had my G3C for a few years and I love it. You’ve made a good choice for your budget. Good on you for doing training and practice, practice and practice more, My advice now is to replace the striker guide and guide rod with stainless steel versions from Lakeline. The difference is very noticeable.
Ruger is king. Or Sig , the Sigs are more boxy, but compact. (They have big guns too of course) The ruger, more slim barrels and lighter weight, and have a bunch of compact options. Taurus is good, but tend to be heavier and bulkier
Your best weapon or tactic is “Situation Awareness”. There is no such thing as feeling safe, even if you have a firearm. Avoid what you can avoid and fight only if you truly have to. If you feel that your life is valuable then don’t discount on things you choose to protect it with.
Good purchase- Don’t listen to all the negative comments and chastising from all these experts in your video! Like you mentioned you’re new to guns and shooting; with practice you’ll get more familiar and comfortable! I’ve learned that having a solid grip and little wasted motion in your draw helps with muscle memory and control! Again great purchase and I like how you’re being safe and responsible! Good luck….
You did good my guy just put that left thumb on the gun handle better and pratice the trigger at home with no ammo of course relax and pull smoothly youll get it
Funny this clip popped in my feed. I just bought a Taurus G3C from the pawn shop yesterday for $250, no extra mag. Its easy to swap parts and customize, like Glock. You got a damn good deal at $350 +3 mags. Nice nice.
The Taurus G2C and G3C are the best guns for the money. I haven't had any failures or issues with mine. The only thing that sucks about these guns is the finish on the slide scratches easy. For the $220 I spent on mine, it's not a deal breaker.
You being Jersey is kinda ass for guns from what I heard…worse than over here in Illinois and Illinois is pretty ass 😂. Work on that grip, your support hand at one point looked like it wasn’t supporting much…being right handed you’re most likely going to be shooting low left due to your grip and trigger pull. You noticing that trying to anticipate recoil can throw off your shot is very good. Just let it happen and get back on target, having that good grip and trigger pull like I mentioned will make it easier. Learn your gun inside and out. How to break it down and putting it back together and how it works. Being a car guy you’ll enjoy it, trust lol. Other than that just practice as much as you can. Run some drills and practice malfunctions as well. Learn and practice good gun safety etiquette. I myself don’t like Taurus but nothing against them, I am Glock fanboy haha. Glock, Walther, Beretta, Smit&Wesson, SpringField Armory, FN, Colt, and CZ are some of my favorites. There’s plenty of good options out there. I enjoy seeing new people joining the 2A community and watch progress in their journey…best of luck.
If you don’t have kids, Why have a firearm and have it locked down tho? “If it’s a home defense it should be a bed side g**” don’t forget you got it for a reason not to have put up🤝
Good job on your decision to get the gun. The G3 Toro slide will fit on your G3C. You can also get the OEM 15 round 17 round and 18 round mags with the sleeve. I also suggest checking out the mck conversion kit. I got the g2c in the G3 living in the mck conversion kit. Get help on your grip too.
This was my first gun too. Things quickly spiraled out of control and now my edc is 10x+ the price. Legit $3600-4000 with the dot and mods. I never had a malfunction with mine. Over 3000 rounds without cleaning it. Like 5-6k rounds total before I sold it.
While you're still fresh, get some formal beginner pistol training/ Pistol 101. It's hard to unlearn bad shooting habits, and they'll show you proper stances. And find yourself some readily available Hollow Point self defense ammo. Hornady Critical Defense, Federal HST, Spear Gold Dot are top choice/most used. And the MOST IMPORTANT PART. Take whatever ammo you choose, and put at minimum, 2-5 boxes of that self defense ammo through the gun. Some guns are finnicky, and you might find that yours doesn't like a specific ammo. Best time to find out is at the range, not when you need it to defend your life, or a loved ones. Stay safe, practice often.
