Jailbreak was on the Australian Dirty Deeds, which i got at the very first record show i ever went to, along with my copy of the Mothers - Freak Out. But i had that '74 Jailbreak record to tide me over till i found the Australian LPs too, haha!
I dig Santanic Majesties for the very reason people diss it - it’s a bit all over the place. It’s a perfect reflection of Brian Jones at the time. It could of been a classic album had they added Child of the Moon, We Love You and Dandelion & then removed the 9 minute sing this all together.
At times I cannot believe those albums are 40 years old! All records I either have, or certainly heard. Very much like you, Thompson Twins, Culture Club, bands we referred to as "prep" crap, I never gave a fair shake. Nowadays I find I have softened to allow more diversity...some! Lol! Love most Nazareth but checked out after Malice In Wonderland in 1980, but I have heard that one. Pales in comparison to their 70's output imho. I think lots of people associate Bush with Anthrax hence the Thrash connection, but Armored Saint were always just straight up hard rock/heavy metal to my friends and I. Solid picks from 84 Craig. Hope you enjoyed the July 4 festivities and weekend man. Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
i never realized how much that particular iron maiden cover looks like an earth, wind and fire cover! i never realized anyone include iron maiden and culture club or talk about wasp and the thompson twins in the same video but you are referring to specific time period (the year i graduated) so all bets are off.
i saw adam ant, INXS and a couple other 80's bands in 82 and met kiss at a record store maybe 6 years later so i won't be trolling you....i never paid much attention to fred durst. he apparently took the stage recently looking "unrecognizable". who would say such a thing whether they like him or they don't? a troll!
@@TheSpiritofVinyl somebody else was the headliner but i can't recall who it was. being an "opening act" for vinyl richie or spoken well of by him is a sound endorsement. good luck getting thousands of subscribers.
You’re up to 82! Vinyl Richie sent me over. I’m looking for a thread. It would help if you type the 4 requirements in the description. I screenshot that and use it to look for the records. Sorry, I’m demanding😂. I look forward to your content.
some vinyl enthusiast named richie suggested that coming here might cause him to make one more video before croaking so guess who arrived on the scene?
I didn’t see Grease until the early 90’s. I had a Goth friend and Grease was his favorite movie. I thought that was so weird. I eventually watched it and it is a good fun movie.
When I go to the record store I seldom have a plan. I saw Madonna on the Like A Virgin tour. The Beastie Boys were the opening band. This was a couple of years before they blew up. I actually did a Madonna video about 5 years ago.
Hey Craig! Nazareth - so underappreciated in the US. Most people only know "Love Hurts" and "Hair of the Dog", but the 3 albums that came out before that are great. Happy 4th to you! See you Sunday!
Salut Greg. You showed some great albums. The Warning (their best album) is missing in my collection.😭.Armored Saint is Thrash? I think not.For me it's Power Metal....
🤔I guess I put them there because of the bands they associated with rather than their sound but the more I think about it the more I think you are correct, not a thrash band.
Love the Iommi picture behind you. Absolutely love "Sacred Heart"! Dio's first four records are must haves. I just spit beer 😅! I received my second beard trimmer in 10 years. She claims she doesn't know what to get. I tell her to go into the punk or metal section, find an album that has a skull, zombie, tank or scantily clad woman on the cover and I'll probably like it. I can't do Halloween without listening to "Thriller" at least once. Nice vinyl haul! Cheers!
Hi Craig! 600! I hover around a thousand due to space. I do what’s become an annual purge of the collection. I love the first three Blondie albums. B52s Wild Planet is a party record! Enjoy it! “I need to get me some Hall & Oates” 😅 That Roxy Music album is a good one. Try some Bryan Ferry solo stuff too. I only have Into The Gap from Thompson Twins from my 89s high school days!
Hey Craig, congrats on 600! Best line I heard on YT all week; "You know how they are, they buy you a beard-trimmer or whatever." Some great pickups! I have never owned 'Thriller.' Thanks for the shout out!
Oh man those are actually all really good additions imho Craig. I may be somewhat biased now that I have a complete vinyl head mentality, but many albums I have that I had only previously heard on cd or streaming sound so much better on vinyl. Of course that is subjective to sooo many factors, but like you I am not an audiophile and on my modest system they are killer! Anyway. Incredible fathers day indeed lol! Enjoy the spinning bro. Hope to catch you guys on Sunday. Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
Hi Craig! Great job with thread and your own answers. I have a hard time filming all the threads but if I can’t get one done I will definitely give you a shoutout in an upcoming video 🤘
Craig, I believe you actually responded to my first thread for the VC before I even put it out there! Well done! Great stuff here, and Suzi Quatro deserves more recognition for sure. Plus, Juice Newton and Crystal Gayle! 😎🎶
Hello Craig! Came your way via Steve/All The World's A Stage. He's a great supporter of new VC members, myself included. Have subbed, and will put something together for this thread. Neat idea, and some great showings there 😎🎶 Ed
Unprofessional is what I do! I usually drink on my show. "Born In The U.S.A." is my first. Man, you're moving so fast I feel like I'm watching some psychedelic Faith No More video. "Kiss Alive III" is a great record that doesn't get enough love. Sure, the first two are better but this one rocks too. Great show! Cheers!
"Kinda rough night last night" lol! Hair Of The Dog Craig!!😂 Great video and idea for a thread. That F15 lp sounds really cool man. I love stuff like that. I hope I get a chance to post a response as a show of support...we'll see. Have a good week man. Cheers! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
Hi Craig found your channel through Steve and subscribed. The F-15 vinyl is really amazing, I don’t think anything will beat that one on the vinyl tag. I will jump on this one. Great video!
I just found that poster thought it was cool looking, never heard of the movie either. The movie is called Virgin among the living dead, late 70's French erotic thriller/horror movie.
What part of the south are you from? I can hear an accent but I can't quite place it. I'm going N.C? Possibly T.N? Can't go wrong with Rose Tattoo. Wow! The Who!? You definitely have their best one. I could listen to the first Grim Reaper record all day long. The second one is pretty good too. Check out my video on them. GNR has never put out a bad one but you're right. That is one of the greatest debuts of all time. Keep this theme up! It's cool. Cheers!
Happy belated Father's day Craig! 😂 Hope you had a great weekend pal. Great idea for a video. I have that Coney Hatch. I bought it almost on release date. They opened for Maiden on their Canadian leg of their World Piece tour which also included Fastway in the U.S. Rose Tattoo are rockers for sure. Always had AC/DC comparisons. Never heard of Pallas...interesting. 🤔 I have tons of Who...thanks to my wife. She is indeed a huge Who fan. That is their best pure rock lp imho. Tommy is pretty amazing, but it has some a story which dictates parts I could skip at times. Grim Reaper is a throwback for me. Killer album!! Had it on cassette. GnR debut is a must imho! I'd also throw in VH debut, Boston debut, Kill 'em All...and of course there are tons we aren't thinking of. Pretty subjective I suppose. Awesome man. I enjoy your videos. Hope to catch you on Steve's stream. Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
Hi Craig, cool video! Steve from All The World’s A Stage sent me your way. Not heard many of your selection, but Pallas have been on my radar for a while. Need to give that one a listen. If you’re gonna have one Who album… that’s the one to have. Behind Blue Eyes is such a good song. Good stuff pal, Jack
Hey Craig! I'm still stunned that you found all those albums! We need to get you on Sunday Night Vinyl Confessions to talk about this. LMK if you're interested.
Hi Craig. Surprised at the Who and GnR! They're everywhere on everyone's! But you're right, those are each band's definitive albums. I do have "Appetite" with the original cover. Happy Fathers Day!
