I wonder what was up with Doc and the band that night? They weren’t on for Rodney’s in nor his out on this one! Anyway, always good to watch two masters ply their trades together and perform a bit of magic!
If there’s one thing I remember about Johnny Carson it’s his Clothes. He always had the most impressive suits on night after night. This one in this show was just simply sharp as can be.
That’s right, Johnny knew how to feed Rodney (or any of his guest comics) just enough materiel as the straight man for them to run with it and shine! What a magical thing to see!

No worries. In other words, rather than clean Rodney’s teeth, the dentist is recommending a brown necktie to make Rodney’s yellow teeth appear brighter! It’s like when Rodney says rather than him losing weight, he’ll just start hanging around fat people (to appear thinner)! 😆
