I am fascinated by all things regarding Outer Space. I also enjoy anything dealing with aviation. I'm a retired US Army Non-Commissioned-Officer. I spent nearly all my service time in Europe, mainly in Italy. I am married to an Italian lady I met on my first duty in Italy. After I retired I was hired as the first Civilian Executive Officer in the US Army Dental Corps. I moved back to the Washington, DC Metro area in 2002. I have a passion for reading and writing short stories and poetry. I like to travel and to spend time in Art Galleries, Museums, and touring Battle Fields (my favorite is Gettysburg in Pennsylvania). I like to make RU-vid Videos; one of my most enjoyable activities is eating hot, steamed Blue Crabs or Chesapeake Bay Oysters and drinking ice-cold Draft Beer while watching Baltimore Orioles Baseball, or University of Maryland Sports. Well, that’s a snapshot of who I am. As my favorite Vulcan says, "LIVE LONG AND PROSPER!"
Yes, the old building had no AC, so in the summer we suffered a lot. I hear they no longer have the Class Rings we had. If so that is a shame. Our ring was considered the best in all Maryland. I still have mine, Class of 1966. Congratulations on your graduation.
WOW - was stationed on Sullivan Barracks in the 90’s and visited friends in BFV all the time. Great times and memories! I miss it even to this day!! Thank you for the video..
Great footage! My dad was part of the 55th Maintenance at Camp Humphreys in 70 to 71. Depending on when you left in 70 you may have worked together or at least crossed paths.
I was with B Company 55th Maint. BN. from May 1969 to May 1970. I have a copy of the 1969 Unit Yearbook. What was your father's name, I might remember him if he was with B Company. Thanks for the comment!
@@DavidWDingesJr I have his 70-71 yearbook. He was part of the 306th transportation company? His name is Lawnie Rasmussen. I know he worked on helicopters and drove the colonel and other officers around.
Yes, in May just before I left Humphreys the 55th Main Bn. was changed to the 306th Trans. Is there any way you could scan his yearbook photo and send it to me on my Facebook messenger?
I lived at 61 E Washington Strasse from 1956 to 1959 across from the dispensary where my father worked. One of my fondest memories was walking to and from high school and stopping at the German kiosk by the OEG tracks to buy gummi bears. Spent a lot of after school hours at the AYA house with friends. Elvis was in Friedberg and Rock and Roll was what was happening. Thanks for sharing.
I was in Humphreys from 1990 to 1991. An Jung Ri and Peyontek, lol. You wouldn't know the place now, they moved Yongson to Humphreys and really built it up for families from what I hear. Nice.
I lived at 275 Further strasse in Sullivan just in front of the PX and across from the gas station from 1994-1996. I used to go to the festivals in that parking lot and to the Top Hat club across from it. Best duty station I ever in 20 years. Had a ball. Miss it. Thanks for the vid.
My husband, John Hartline and I were stationed in Germany from June of 1971 until September of 1973. We lived off base for a few months and then were in officers quarters. We were in one of the three-level buildings, not the larger ones. Since it was just us, we had a two-bedroom set of quarters on the first floor. He was a helicopter pilot and he was assigned on the base. I can't recall what his unit was right now. It's interesting to know we were there a pretty much the same time. We kept in touch with one couple we knew when we were over there for many years, but haven't heard from them lately.
Sounds like the one I heard on Baltimore radio stations all the time. Weird thing.. A friend and I were driving from Pennsylvania to Glen Burnie, I was telling her about the song, and danged if it didn't come on the radio!
When you first turned on Columbus Str, my apartment F., was facing the camera in that second building (306) on the left, first stairwell, on da 3rd floor.
Jefferson steet.. I remember me always on kim... Thanks from frank gartenstadt.. My dad plays on the army mess with his old band.. I hope you see my post kim... Thanks from frank
I'm not even sure if you're trolling or not, lol! Parody isn't plagiarism, and Zeppelin was the worst for ripping other artists off, anyway. And Stairway to Heaven in particular: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FiGhjGDCoL4.html
I was in Vicenza in the early 2000's and last in 2014. I have enjoyed seeing what Vicenza looked like throughout the 80's and 90's in your videos! PS- I recognized COL Murley around the 2:00 mark. He saw I had a CIB and I believe he was a triple CIB awardee so he struck up a conversation with me outside of the post office right next to the theater. I still haven't forgotten that.
Was Led Zeppelin sampled then?...I can imagine Led Zeppelin's lawyers knocking on Q.95's doors for playing this version on the air?....was Bob and Tom sued, weird al sued, for doing this?....it was probably got a premiere on April fools day I suppose?
