Hello there! My name is Ronan and I'm a Guitarist from Kenmare , Co Kerry, Ireland. Here you'll find tuition videos, covers and my own original material. Hope you enjoy
@RoMurphy I've yet to ever visit a patreon site but would be interested for learning some more Rory Gallagher songs. Out on the western plain is a favorite of mine. I know it's in DADGAD tuning.
This is great, many thanks for expert insight from Eire. I remember learning this in school in Wales with old friend Myf Isaac. Good to see it broken down so well. BTW do you know why Rory sets capo at F# on a few songs, noticed it first on Sinner Boy.
Thanks Tim! I'd imagine he used the capo to play in the key that suited the vocal for the song. Sinner boy is played in an open tuning, I may have done a lesson for it on my channel
Rory is the greatest rock guitar player of all time and has been my absolute favorite player and biggest influence on my own playing since 1979, when I I was sixteen and heard Top Priority for the first time..
all-time great solo, Kelle Rhoads says it is the solo that he thinks best exemplifies his brother's talents. The live version of this song on the King Biscuit flower hour is great
Hi Jared, I'm doing some pre production for sone Rory song lessons atm which I'll put on my Patreon. I'll see what I can do about this one, have always been scared of it 😂. Cheers man
I think my timing is fine but I do need to get it cleaner. I hadn't practiced it for long tbh, just a couple of hours. I generally learn these things fairly quick and just go for it, even if it's super tricky like this one. Cheers man
