Mike, you jave inspired me to stop waiting for a buddy or two to go out on adventures. Usually means I dont end up going... So, off I go out on my own for the next few months. Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Arizona and who knows where else. Pretty much just winging it, figuring out where the fish are as I go. Watching your vids helps for many reasons. Your humour especially laughing at yourself is great and very entertaining! Thanks for the adventures!!
Gila has been my favorite place to elk hunt for 20 years. You can find places in that wilderness that seem like no man has ever laid eyes on before. Never fished it though… now I’m curious but no longer live in my home state of New Mexico. 🎉 Oh and it’s pronounced like it is a H in the front not a G. Just a little friendly correction. I know it’s 3 years late but just found the channel. Love the content
Grassy lake is a good road! I see cars on it regularly. It is like 53 miles but an awesome road! Also good fishing through the pass at the small lakes and streams.
I found this channel recently and have thoroughly enjoyed your storytelling. The imagery, ethics, the fish, the pure enthusiasm and occasional (and realistic) frustrations along the way. Great stuff man, keep it up! Enjoying from Austin, Texas.
Love all of your videos man. This one by far is my current favorite. Love how you tell a story and enjoy all your video shots. Motivating to go out and enjoy my local river and creeks!
The trout parks in MO hold a special place in my heart because it’s were I was introduced into the sport of fly fishing! I agree it can be very crowded at times but most everyone is friendly and give you space! Montauk is my favorite going there next weekend!
Again, another great video of one of the most breath-taking trout environments in the world. Although at times I think you provide TMI while hiking on the trail ... I greatly appreciate (in this film) that you do NOT candy-coat the brutal hikes involved to reach some of these magical alpine lakes. Other fisherman / videographers focus solely on the fish at the end of the trail. So "good on ya" with this video!
Maaannnn, that is bad ass!! I'm not a fly fisherman yet, but I can't wait to start learning. I live in New Mexico and fish a lot! Can't wait to check out the spots you hit here and many others out of this state. Keep the videos coming bro!! Much love!!
Those rainbows aren't wild or native to North Georgia. They are stockers that have made it passed the locals that pull them out as soon as they drop them out of the trucks. Consider yourself a good fly fisherman because you were catching the ones that the locals missed.
Tri basin divide……..I’m heading out that way for a few days. Where do I start to get to where you were. I. Driving from WA. ANY bit of road info would be appreciated:)
Love all of your videos! I’ve managed to fish a few of the streams you have in the past out in the Driftless. Next week I’m heading to Durango for 7 days and boy I hope I can get to this beautiful stream!! I’ll make sure to have plenty of hoppers! Thank you
Just did this route with my wife and 7yo son. Although it was tough, it was well worth it and rewarded me and my son with our biggest trout ever. Thanks for this video man! Watched it before goin and came back to thank you for the information you made public. The ranger said my son was the youngest that he knows of to ever complete the warner route, we saw multiple big horn and other abundance of wildlife and caught so many fish. Definitely a trip of a lifetime! Edit: the tips of my toes still hate me! 😂 if you know you know
I was completely skunked this spring. The only conclusion that I came to was that I was targeting spawning rainbows? It kind of reminded me of having to virtually slap a dry on the nose of brook trout in October. Yes, tying videos are important. Why, because the folks at the fly shops, here, seem disinterested in tying. No, I don't want to talk about that rod that split twice in the same place, really. If I didn't tie, I'm not sure why I wouldn't just use a jar of salmon eggs with a fly rod, or spinners with conventional gear? I've bought tons of synthetic materials, including floss/thread, over the years, that I now have no intention of ever using; too much stuff is almost worse than not enough. Maybe that is why I like tying, as it is an inherently a challenge just getting materials. Natural fur, hackle, and hair rarely disappoints. The Mini Meat Whistle is gorgeous, so much so that the video could be shot in grayscale and go all-out 'artsy.' Your videos are great because of your narration; you could talk about fishing (which is cool, don't get me wrong), or you could talk about your grind following an extensive series of highway signs, and it is still captivating. I'm inspired.
Dude, I found your channel just a couple days ago. I love your enthusiasm, and your ability to be real on the camera. I’m just getting into fly fishing, and man, I’m dreaming of going on solo trips like this. I’m a CO native thank the lord and maybe I’ll run into you on the streams! 🎉
I should have paid more attention to the end of this video. After watching this video and a couple others you did in the area I drove 650 miles out there and fished a couple of days. I crawled up the trial at Cebolla Mesa and Little Arsenic. Both kicked my butt. Enjoyed the trip though.
I was depressed for a long time and I looked useless and bad. This music helps me relieve fatigue and stress. Thanks for sharing. Whoever is reading this comment, I wish you success, health, love and happiness!
