At 08:19 the guy says "tier one city will have 100,000 in habitants or more" .......!!!!!!........... seriously bro, which universe are you living in ???. Tier one city in India will have upwards of 10,000,000 inhabitants. But other than this uninformed comment the video was refreshingly well balanced.
Whatever your design philosophy may be, no matter where you are in the world, carousel banners in 2024 is highly inconvenient and a bad design choice and needs to be phased out. Waiting for the relevant information to appear while the text slides by at an inconvenient speed never stops feeling like a waste of time.
Please reply to this: What's the purpose of your video. I know not good UI for foreigners like you or someone else. But for india people people want everything things in front of their eyes in one flash. And don't want to dig into it. It's like they want anything its would be free or at cheapest price. Or your purpose was to update the government website to better UI see this is never going to happen in India.So.. leave it that way. Love from INDIA ❤
ok good video tho i dont think they do it because of different cultures tho, most of the webisite use english as language medium and like u said the market of ppl u use pc or computer in comparison to mobile are really small so, in india there is one reallly good method that have been introduced few years back that lets u transfer funds, do upto 100k rupees transaction manage balance, and check balance really easily smt similar to apple pay maybe and these apps have a huge market in india there are over 44.3 crore transaction in india that are done through mobile apps using UPI and these apps have really good UI/UX too some them are gpay, phonepay, amazonpay etc. so pls keep these points in mind. The websites that indian use may look ugly but most of the trasction are done through mobile apps similar to using credit card to pay for things abroad.
I remember how much easier was the archaic ITR (income tax returns filing) portal was in comparison to the newer portal. New one looks better but it doesn't work as well as the old one.
Most indian websites which are more public in nature like banks, insurance, universities etc, have one thing is common. Rather than make a rich ui, make it very simple and access to information quickly. These UIs are created to showcase the products or services as simple as possible. Its not about experience, its about availability and affordability. I hope this information will help.
Lot of People in India are not tech savvy who use these services for example SBI bank website. It needs to be simple, stuff should not be hiddent in drop downs, anything is upfornt.
It does not matter if these sites have bad looking UX/UI front end.... the bigger issue is their appalling back-end issues where the service requested returns errors of all sorts. never robust. These sites have daily maintenance shutdown during midnight... Do their servers run on diesel engines or wat?!!
Its due to low number of smart tech leaders in the sbi and other half government and government organisations in India. There are few, but they cant win the battle and take SBI to a modern tech landscape with all the less competent majority. If I was employed by SBI as a software product manager it would be considered a clerical job compared to the same role in CITI or UBS which is considered a great career path.
I wonder if the font you're using is a custom made or something basic from OS or Google fonts. It seems to me that it has some issues. In letters like T, A or e there are visible lines, what looks like they have not been merged or exported correctly as a vector. (Sorry for any mistakes, english is not my native language).
In my opnion doing one thing best (or at least doing many things in a single subject, like the map application) is better than doing many things at the same time. Mobile OS's can create app abilities such as payment in messaging or other apps can make abilities to do this or etc.
as an Indian i would say these government websites are too confusing its not at all user friendly, UI is too lethargic to use. plus they look outdated i get it cheap but still
I know this is different for everyone, but often Spotify just chooses the wrong songs for me. About a month ago I used a script to actually shuffle a playlist. It was amazing, I am hearing songs that I haven’t heard in a long while. So I kind of actually got annoyed of Spotify thinking it knows me. I got tired of listening to music, because it felt like I kept hearing the same songs and it seems like I was.
Have the same feeling. As a Vietnamese product designer, our e-commerce design applications are also so complicated 🤣 but we get used to them. I think it would not be easy to use if they were minimal.
One good thing about Reddit that I will always praise is you can STILL access their old design by simply appending "old." onto their url. I wish every website had this, and the "old." was just a layout like the Japanese one or their older website, it could be used for compatibility with older hardware. Would be wieldy, but I wonder if it would be possible to create an extension using Wayback resources that themed websites like this in a readable form. Maybe fetch similar classes onto correct boxes etc? A lot of info would be lost, but the point is ppl dont rly like it.
I’ve never really done anything in UX, but I still found this video interesting and useful. Also you’re very good at telling the story part, a lot stuck with me. For me the way you tell the story is very calming, and as a very calm person, it is very nice. And I really do hope you’ll still be making videos after 2 years. And also, I also love your other videos.
And another thing. Most Indians since tht have accessibility to phones. More effort is spengon developing the ui ux for mobile apps. A very small portion actually go to the website for their bank interactions and most preferably to visit the bank in person. For genuine concerns. You will have an SBI office within a 5-19 km radius. Security bueng another concern would also be a reason why they don't actively promote their website as websites can be easily hacked
There are some things you ought to know . Most of the web design companies that get corporate clients either are based out of India in the US and Dubai or Qatar. They maintain a team with a branch in India. And with the number of computer engineers we produce every year, the competition is high and so the market is a goldmine for Tech Entrepreneurs when in comes to cost savings. The bigger projects are handled by Fortune 500 Indian tech companies like TCS , Wipro and Infosys
Hahah. Interesting moment that I saw all videos from your description (includes IMPERIAL who's solo Swiss creator with insanely well quality of videos), after watching all these videos I've researched about Swiss design and in a few weeks I found your video in my recommendations. Thx for your content!
