Since I have received more interest in residency mock interviews than I can possibly do, I have edited some of the mock interviews so you can get all the pertinent tips! Once purchased I will send you the link where all the videos will be uploaded as I finish editing them. Learn more here: medpsycmoss.com/store/p_3313253/mock-interview-course
Congratulations on matching into psychiatry! I am in the step 1 process and I remembered watching a video on your step 1 process a few months ago. Coming back to see your success story made my heart leap for joy. Congratulations once again!
@@Olamide5090 thank you for coming back and watching my journey! I hope my story can provide you hope and motivation in yours! Good luck on Step! You got this 💪
Hello there , I just failed step 1, after that ecfmg they send me this email, they suspend my application to any step exam for a year due to anomalous performance, readiness to test and motivation to pass, I don't know what's wroung, I fail my test due to anxiety, I prepared well but I got so anxious tired during the exams and I run of time and leaving some questions without answering and some of multiple flags,,, so what should I do, I already start to study again, should I wait or this will be more reg flags to get match next year, or changing the whole pass to UK?
I am so sorry you struggled with Step 1 and your anxiety. Will they let you submit an appeal to explain your situation and response? Defiantly give your self time to relax and reset before jumping hard back into studying. You can easily burn out.

Seeing this in my recommended made me emotional. I had to take like a couple minutes to cry and watch this. I have my third attempt coming up in a week and I’ve just been trusting the process for the 3 months leading up to this attempt, but I’m not gonna lie, I’ve started forgetting stuff I once knew really well and it hits one’s confidence. Thank you for showing me that there’s still hope.
I am so glad that this video helped you!! There is hope for success post failure 🫶 I am virtually sending you all the strength and luck during your upcoming attempt!
@@savemeows1 great questions! I believe I answer them in this video. I will also have another video soon on answering tough interview questions: Guide for Residency Personal Statement for ERAS Application ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7_G4e9oFbM8.html
@@medpsycmoss im sorry but i did not find the part u are addressing what to answer if they asked. For example if a program who does not know u sees ur experience in other departments and asks if u are dual applying.. do u thing they are even allowed to ask this question..?
@@savemeows1 From my experience I was told they are legally not allowed to ask that and to respond. "I am not comfortable discussing that question" then there is a like in aamc to report it
It's super cool for you to share this info with others. Medical school is such a toxically competitive environment (even though every school talks about being "collaborative"), and you're doing your part in dismantling that.
@@medpsycmoss Thank you & God bless! I'm in Kansas City and drive to St. Louis every 2 weeks for Norco. I'm disabled with 27 messed up disks with nerve root entrapment, a knee that needs replaced, Combined immunodefiency, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, and diabetes. I'm exhausted and this almost 1,200 mi a month trip is very expensive on SSI.
Thank you so much for sharing your 24-hour call experiencing and for breaking down and de-stigmatizing examples of suicidal ideation!! You are the best and hope you get some rest soon!
Hi dr moss !!! Great great video !!! Loved every minute/second of this video ... I'm an older graduate and I'm in end of my journey; as they say there is always light at end of the tunnel ! Liked it in the end when you said they want real people 😊; oh moma they are going to get one ! Just appreciate everything you are doing !!! U r true MD in my heart & soul ! Keep it up and keep sharing ... I'll continue to watch your videos ... Proud you ! Thanks for sharing Dr Moss ! Bye for now ...
I love the fact that’s you’re open !! But for your safety and wellbeing please don’t share your paycheck or anything money related . I don’t want any one to harm you , the internet is a crazy place
Please needed to know this perspective … I used up all assessments Nbme/uwsa /free 120 on my previous attempt.. and those qus answer pretty much memorised phase, like i know the answer when i will look into it or biased .. so for next attempt how would i assess myself or get to know that i am ready?
I did the same thing by taking all the practice exams multiple times. Interestingly enough even though you think you would “memorize” or remember the answers you don’t because there is hundreds of questions. If you truly remembered there would be a significant increase in scores each time you retake it. I talk about this in the video and blog post
