Both are great mic preamps but if I have to choose one I will choose the MPX this is the first WARM mic pre that has tubes it makes the sound more vintage tone, and add clarity and color on vocal when engaging the Tape Saturation. The High Gain (90db) is also great addition for dynamic microphones specially for SM7B. You can compare the sound if you visit my kids channel there is the same video (song) they did,that recorded using WA73 on vocal
