My favorite ff game despite its cringe moments. First played it when I was 8 years old and remember being obsessed with the cutscene of Tidus in the blitzball area
While I had played FFX in my childhood, (or atleast tried to), I never finished it and it became a very vivid memory of the PS2 era of video games. During the early or mid 2010s I was browsing through the numerous FF titles and listening to all the OSTs until I came across this. Wandering Flame would help me sleep a lot during those years, I would have the song endlessly on repeat as I drifted into unconciousness. Rediscovering this gem as I haven't heard it in such a long time feels great and, I guess, will be helping me sleep tonight once again. Thank you
Absolutely beautiful piece. FFX remains my favourite game of all time after all these years. The game is simply magical and I love to play it at least once a year. I think one of the reasons I love it so much is because it gives the most discreet middle finger to organised religion, which I have had some terrible personal experiences with. I think that’s why this game means so much to me.

If sadness could be one song... I'd want it to be this. It feels like a cradling feeling, being somewhere comfortable enough to let it out, the breaks in the melody, sobs, the change in the calm, tears rolling down. The past looking you in your eyes, getting to see how much it made you care. There really is nothing like feeling safe enough to cry. I don't think I'd ever want to leave.

I guess this is a song that truly resonate with our loneliness, our hopelessness and the feeling of being really lost in a big hostile world. I'm usually very fond of talking about the stuff I like with my friends or family. But my feelings on this song, on what FFX made me live... I believe that nobody would really undestand... And that's maybe what that song is all about. "He walks amongst us but is not one of us"

FFX is so beautiful, amazing characters, world, story... the music added so much to the atmosphere. I really wish we can revisit Spira in another entry one day, whether it be X-3 or a full remake with modern graphics.

The older I get, the more I appreciate FFX and everything it tried to do. As a kid, I didn't really like the game much. In fact, I misunderstood the game to be an overtly melodramatic and cheesy JRPG and much preferred FFXII on the PS2. Now, I understand everything Square did with the game. Everything. It really is a special game, far more special than most games within the JRPG genre and outside of it. Wandering Flame has become a staple in my chill playlists, and this version will be added to it as well. Beautiful stuff.
I could never get into FFXII and I desperately wanted, it felt so impersonal compared to the older games (and I'm someone who appreciates such a colder story too) X is the last game in that series that had "special something" that you can't deliberately manufacture. It's the one story who's themes have aged the best imo too. I'm glad it was created.
@@johnmcternan4157 Fair enough. XII was after all the most divisive game of the series up to that point and as much as I love the game even today there are some arguments from the other side about it I'd have to agree with. The story I enjoyed quite a bit but there was room for far better character development and party interactions within the main cast. I still enjoy everything else about the game, but those two areas were definitely disappointing. Doubly so considering the series' usual standards in those aspects. X, on the other hand, is a game that gets just about everything right with its storytelling.
Seriously one of the best pieces of music ever written for a game. FFX will always be my favourite FF, such memories and emotion. Hope everyone is doing fine during this very odd and sad time to be alive.

Crazy to think that almost 20 years ago now, this was the song I fell asleep to on school nights at 7pm when I should have been doing homework. I would have FFX open all night on my PS2 with this playing....<3
Well.. the devistation lassts generations.... the economy and so forth will not be able to grow beyond a certain point. Unless they learned how to adapt and become so innovative that in every span of 5 to 10 years, they could easily have a decent society again, specially if yevon clergy was amended to where things were not as secretive, this way the cycle wouldn't be a horrendous downward spiral. As it went down the route we remember. Seymour Guado slowly became the way we know him to be, and so we can see it would have went hos way at some point. But you see, it would be hard on the fayth. Perhaps this is why they started off so much weaker than in the past, they were tiring of "dreaming" but yes, we also know the power if of the Aeon matches the skills and resolve of the summoner too of course.
