Lucy's vocal interpretation of "The Sound of Music" here is just so wonderful! It really stands out on the album, which is full of wonderful performances.
And Michael's verse in "Edelweiss" is flawless! He is just so fantastic. I really hope he's as lovely in real life as he seems to be when he's performing. Such a delightful sparkle in his eye!
Maria Friedman sounds amazing! I adored her as the Narrator in the direct-to-VHS Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. She’s now the Tony-nominated director for the Tony Winning Best Musical Merrily We Roll Along on Broadway!
How disappointing it was only music from "The Sound of Music" which I love, but I love even more Oklahoma, which was R and H first collaboration I believe, State Fair, Carousel and many others.
Richard Rodgers' music and Oscar Hammerstein's lyrics are gloriously beautiful and timeless. Thank you for this fitting tribute to two towering geniuses of musical theater and popular entertainment.
The ladies have undeniably great voices, but for me, it's still Julie Andrews, although Audra McDonald singing Climb Every Mountain was really incredible.❤
Love it. It’s such a great production live and I love seeing regional versions. Very nicely done, everyone. I would have loved to have been sitting in the audience. Bravo!!! 👏👏👏
Yes, it was pretty well mangled by RU-vid's servers over the years. Only recently have I been able to upscale in AI, but I wish I could keep the view count.👍
An excellent scene, done masterfully. Though I gotta wonder...why didn't Mushnik notice, when the large plant right behind him, suddenly started singing. 😄
And this is only Pod 3, isn’t it? Unless they keep with the same puppet, which is something I wouldn’t put past them (this thing is massive already), the plant gets even _bigger_ after it eats Mushnik. That’s incredibly impressive.
