If they are dying, I'm glad to see them go. Superhero movies foster the belief and play into the hope that someone or something is going to intervene and save us from ourselves, which is a form of magical thinking we can't afford to entertain. Our problems are real, they are existential and, if we are to survive, only we can address them.
I think it’ll be very interesting to see whether your prediction comes true…yet. Maybe the genre pattern you’ve defined here will be, at least temporarily, disrupted by one or another studio. Marvel seems to have taken a step back and may be retooling. The reported upending of the 4th season of Daredevil and the attenuated and disrupted movie schedule seems to be evidence of this. Only time will tell… Very interesting thesis, and well worth the time. I’m not sure everything you assert as fact is actually correct, but it’s thought provoking and plausible. Earned my sub. Nice job.
I will have you know that I enjoyed the old Xmen movies and Raimi Spiderman films. Sure, you had flops like Ang Lee's Hulk, but without those films walking Superhero films couldnt run. However, think of where that running got us, predictable plots, SJW inclusion for the sake of it, "THE MESSAGE" and twerking she hulk. I would take 1000 extra Xmen movies over any more woke garbage marvel shills out. Oh and Tobey can act circles about Iron Boy Jr.
I agree that there where definitely still some great movies from the 90-early 2000 period. I can’t say I agree with the modern movies being bad because of “woke”, if you want to see my opinion on that I have an additional video on woke media, it might be worth a look!
30 second into this was already too much. simple answer, hollywood has gone WOKE. I just want to be entertained for a couple of hours. I don't need a girl boss marie-sue lecturing me on DEI.
The movie wasn't good. It didnt have one theme. But tried to capture a glimpse of humanity good or bad in various scenarios. But it did a poor job doing this.
The gunshot in the trailer sounded so bad that i was turned off by the movie. I doubt ill see it but if its anything like the trailer, the gunshots must be horrid. -coming from a range safety officer at an outdoor/indoor gun range
Exempt that what you say are "real" gunshots are like an exaggerated caricature. An actual gunshot is much closer to a straight up bang. Without ear protection it is the bang you hear which drowns out any "metallic" or "rolling" sound you are talking about.
@@laxattack032 dude it’s a place and people live there. But some people get to carpet bomb other people and it’s just allowed that they destroy EVERY HOSPITAL AND KILL THOUSANDS OF KIDS. Look inside your soul. And look at what is happening there. Mass graves of hospital workers and BABIES AND PATIENTS. WHO CAN CONDONE THIS??!
there is no place called "Palestine". How bout we create a place for them like we did for Israel? How bout "Create Palestine"? Cuz saying "F the IDF and Netanyahu" isn't cutting it.
your assessment is pretty accurate i think they should have just ended it at season 1 as well, or left a lot more time for something to cook for another season. the anthology strategy was definitely the best way forward for that but it was a complete fumble. season one just felt bigger than the screen. they told just enough, had the right balance of plot and subplot, and kept the preaching to a minimum. i wouldn't even call the new seasons any more "woke" than the first one i just think they were inorganically trying to subvert expectations and artificially create complexity with fifty subplots. season one left a lot to the imagination, it was clean. i cant even remember season 3 honestly. two had some interesting things, some david lynch-esque moments, but i still have no idea what the plot actually was. and i think im going to skip 4.
Season 2 tried something different and it didn't work. Season 3 tried to recreate season 1 and it was just too slow. Season 4 was lazy and badly written. The set design was even low quality with bad AI generated posters on walls. They characters were very badly written and underdeveloped.
Perfectly said. The build was alot but the pay off and ending was so RUSHED! They cut at least a few scenes and made it seem like the final battle was over with in 5 mins
Why not just <<ANWER THE F.n QUESTION>> -- instead of PUTTING everyone THROUGH a Wannabe '60 MINUTES EPISODE' ? ? ? ? -- REally ?? You need to force people to [hear your voice] that Bad. ?? (🥱🥱🥱😔💤)
Yep, even the ones considered great in the last couple of years are mediocre. Outside of Logan 2017 none of the films come close to The Dark Knight Trilogy or Sam Raimi Spider-Man.
Hmm small channel. Decent video but I would note the word originates from a very specific community and dates back to the 1920s. Now coopted and made far more broad then the original word, primarily by a certain flavor of people who have a problem with said community. I believe you should be able to figure that out. But ignoring the origins of the word and thinking on how these people use said word as a broad word for anything they have a problem with, such as what you listed. A multitude of media from the past also falls under this category by default. The Matrix, Starship Troopers, Sonic Satam, the DCAU, Teen Titans, Green Day music, Kaiju movies, the Lorax, the Watchmen, and so many other things.
Nic Pizzolatto is pretty open about the first season showing snippets of truth about the real world, politics, and SRA. he even liked my post about it on his Instagram. what happened with True Detective, the way I see it, is Nic Pizzolatto showed a little bit too much truth, considering it came out before the Wikileaks' FBI leak proving all the symbolism to be true, the swirls and whatnot, the "Owl god", the ritualistic abuse, and so he had to muddy the waters with the next seasons. his last name is also quite peculiar, given how similar it is to a certain popular dish that's used as a code word for children in the underwold. S1 most definitely tells the truth about how our world operates, and its mystical aspects are not at all metaphorical.
I don't agree with the reasoning. The comments you make here, can be applied to all seasons. The reason we don't care, is because the scrips it badly written, not because someone might not be likeable (like Danvers). Some ppl are not likeable, and thats fine having such characters in a show. I think that, firstly, S01 was something a bit new; the style, the setting, the macabreness and the actors were right for the job. A one-hit-wonder, like someone said. Its hard to replicate novelty. But, s04 main problem is the fact that they are shoving "The Message!" down the viewers throats in such an insulting manner, that you instantly feel that you are being lectured: - All leads are females, who basically are men in female bodies - They talk and act like men, "fuck this", "fuck you", "fuck it", "wanna fuck?" - The males are all wimps, in bathtubs who are waiting for the leads fo show up and say "wanna fuck?" Such females exist, but here, it is ûberclear that the director really wants to show of "strong females", but by doing it the way that Disney and Marvel are doing it: by making females into males. And it simply does not work. On top of that, the script gets sloppier as the episodes go. Danvers, not reallt taking orders or shit from anyone, changes on a dime just to get some artiifical drama into the scene, and just gives up, seemingly based on nothing more than a telling off by a guy she doesnt reallty listened to anyways.
I honestly can’t understand why this video is so underrated, it’s well put together and while I want to disagree with a lot of what you say… I think you’re right. brilliant video and I’m glad it introduced me to your channel👍
Season 4 tried to tell too many character's stories. it was more like a soap opera than a murder mystery/police procedural. Then it teased an answer to the "spiral" symbol and then just brush it to the side with no explanation.
Tell me you haven’t been with a friend you thought you knew drunk maybe a little high and they say or do something and you realize I don’t know this guy at all but you he next day you get back in character and just ignore everything you watched him do but you don’t forget and trust is gone that’s what here two but they let it go at a he end
