Thanks a million for the frank clear and honest presentation. Bravo. I taught for a while and due to some mobility issues, I need to create my own online classroom. I currently use Google Classroom but struggling to get students. So I do like the info you are sharing.
You motivated me to continue to continue my education and redouble my efforts to learn my major as best I can. Being able to work anywhere in the world and on my own schedule would be lit.
@@teachersboostso how about now? I’m in UK, I’m thinking teaching kids within different time zones could work, although I don’t know if the curricula is much different for Maths or whether this is too far fetched. Also, have you tried groups? Say 6 students at £15 for the hour, now means £90 for the hour for example.
This is my second time viewing this video. It can be considered foundational Information for anyone posting a product anywhere. Additionally, offering the video and a template would be a great freebie for newbies like me. Thanks again.
"Wow;" thank you so much for this tutorial! You are the first person that really helped me see what I need to do! I needed the step by step with examples!
Dude, that’s quite a lot of money for teaching. Where do you have your clients from? They pay really well. On the Internet platforms you can find teachers and tutors for far less money so I wonder how you compete with them?
She's very successful, very cool, but we must all keep in mind that she got started when Outschool was just getting started. That makes a big difference.
Love this video. Congrats, Jade! I teach private piano lessons on Outschool and would love to do a couple of Flex classes, but don't have much technical ability. Do you think that hiring someone from Fiverr might work? I definitely think I could make a fun Flex class.
Hey man, congrats on your first hire. I was wondering how you constructed the contract for the new tutor as an independent contractor? Did you find a template online, get a lawyer, or make the agreement yourself? Also, are you worried at all about the legal liability of the tutor (i.e. if the tutor acts weird with the child?). Thanks for the advice!
I was hired by Outschool in 2020. I could NOT get students. I would love to do this as my full time job. I‘ve taught in the classroom for 21 years and lost my hearing in one ear in 2008. I would LOVE to teach from home but I just can’t seem to get learners. You have done an amazing job. Congrats!
Wow, this interview is extremely informative and inspiring! Thank you, Teacher Jade for taking the time to share your knowledge and to Elliot for setting it up. $10,000 a month through Outschool... I can't even imagine what that'd be like! I do video game social clubs mostly on Outschool and make around $1,200-ish a month, but when I first got hired, my plan was to actually teach beginner/intermediate guitar. I soon realized how tough it was to teach guitar without being physically present to help correct the kids' finger positions, tune their guitars for them, etc., and so I sort of got turned off from teaching guitar over Zoom. The idea of creating like a 12-week flex course though... from what Teacher Jade explained, sounds like it might work! I'd love to be able to earn some consistent income while taking time off from live teaching. I'm inspired! :)
