This channel is about DIY and the projects I make on my other RU-vid channel: Cimbrer Bushcraft Viking Heritage. Hope you'll find my DIY videos interesting and can be inspired to make your own little projects yourself.

hi tom how are you, how are you at the moment..tom if you don't mind, can i get the details or a copy of this pattern please, i want to try making it...thank you
Thanks for the feedback 😉👍🏻 I’m glad you like it but it’s a template I’ve bought from Dark Horse workshop and I can’t share this … hope you understand. But you can buy it yourself on that website 😊 Tom
Tom this is a great how to video. I live in Missouri US and we have a lot of hickory here. Gonna start work on one of these right away Thanks for the lesson!
@@diycimbrer thank you very much. But i already have a wooden frame. And some really heavy canvas. Im looking for just the linen if you have any ideas where to find it.
Hmm the only place I can get it is here in Denmark 🇩🇰 at www.laederiet.dk/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwm_SzBhAsEiwAXE2Cv0duT0eLtcsIKcl5K66kumqHY32Y45q1oa9-ry-Lc1BUVEgz4S3LJRoCLaYQAvD_BwE But it’s very expensive and I don’t think they send abroad 🤔 but you could ask them 😉👍🏻 Tom
Looked up leather water bottle and discovered your fantastic videos. Thank you for reigniting my inner leather worker! I have not made anything with leather in so many years. I got overworked and burned out. Thank you so much. I almost forgot... what is the name of your laser engraver and where did you buy it from? If you dont mind me asking.
Glad you enjoyed my video and got inspired to go ahead with leather work again 😉 It’s this one I have: eu.laserpecker.net/products/l1-pro-basic-the-most-compact-safe-easy-to-use-laser-engraver?variant=47398088802626 Thanks for watching my diy videos 🏕🔥👍🏻 Tom
I made a few of these a few weeks ago, and I want to point a few things: use a tube or any cylindrical shape object on the neck of the bottle when it's getting dry, so the mouth of the bottle is a perfect circle so it won't leak. Use any old tea pot to melt wax in it, so it's much easier to handle when pouring it inside the bottle. And you really nailed it, great job!
@@diycimbrer Well I did it, took 3 days but it's done. Used a rabbit pelt, had to add a felt sheet that had adhesive as a backer for added strength on the pelt. And some soft yarn instead of leather strapping for the pull cord. The biggest hurdle was figuring out how to glue the wide strap to the fur on the pelt side while I pinned and sewed it. Then I remembered that spray gorilla glue, works great for holding down hair permanently (lol) I just so happened to have some. Sprayed the leather strap, just the strap not the pelt, put some weight on it and let it set for about 12 hours while I went to work. It worked and it held great, now I wasn't about to just rely on that while I sewed so I pinned it down for added strength. It came out looking good, 1st time I've tried anything like that. Something about this video just lit a fire that said " I must make this, with a rabbit pelt." So I did. It's going to be a b'day gift. If I keep it I won't make more, if it's gone I'll want to make another.
Waw that’s so great 😁 and glad my video could inspire you 👍🏻 If it’s possible I would very much like to see a picture of it? Can you send me one on an email 😉 cimbrerbushcraft@gmail.com Thanks 🙏🏻
Hello Cimbrer . You where talking about templates to download . But cannot find it anywhere . I would like to have the design ! Greets from the Netherlands !
I totally love that idea. Maybe I will try to build it. I do have some questions though: It's been a year since you posted the video, so maybe you might be willing share some experiences with the pouch ;) Have you noticed any "leather taste" in your salts an peppers? And what about moisture? Depending on the weather it might be difficult to avoid that leather and/or spices could absorb humidity and the like🤔 Still a totally lovely idea. I like especially the way to fixate the middle part with the toggles!
Thanks for your feedback 🤗 I’m glad you like my idea 👍🏻and I haven’t had any issues regarding moisture or taste from the leather So I hope you’ll make it yourself 😉🏕🔥🌲 Tom
I really like this... thanks for sharing. Here in Southeast Canada, I have lots of birch bark on my property and have been researching birch bark canoe building, going to try this first, lol... and upload it on my channel. I also just subscribed to ur channel. Thank you for sharing there eh!
Appreciate that very much Denis 🤗 and thanks for the feedback Looking forward to following you on your build of a birch bark canoe 🛶😉👍🏻 and let me know what your channel is called 🏕🔥 Tom
That is so cool! You always get me motivated to get back to my own crafts. It was you who got me in to wood carving and leather work. Thanks for the great videos!
Your voice reminds me of my Uncle Gunnar. ❤ Thanks for teaching to make these lamps. Can these lamps be fired in a kiln? I'm asking because another video on making clay lamps said that after a while the oil starts to weep out of the lamp. It seems like firing it would fix the weeping.
Thanks for your feedback 😁👍🏻 and I guess your uncle has Nordic roots? I guess you could burn it 🤔 but not sure the Vikings did that … but just made another one when it was useless 😉 🏕🌲🔥🐕Tom
I was surprised you didn't fire them, Danes love fire LOL I LOVE YOUR CONTENT. I have a crap channel that I love. it seems without trying we are more alike than I wouold want
Yeah thank you so much 😉👍🏻🔥and in this video I fired them up: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sC6WDw-tXFY.htmlsi=8kT88jGfteydxb2S Hope you like 🏕🔥🌲 Tom
What a great little project! Although it’s a relatively simple build, it’s opened my eyes to a couple different ways of connecting materials together that I hadn’t thought of before! Very inspiring! I’ll be adding this to the ‘future build’ list!
I'm confused. I thought the whole point of creating primitive tools was to show how to do it with natural materials found in the natural environment. Why use modern tools to create primitive tools? If one has modern tools, wouldn't it make more sense to just use those to get the job done?
That’s another way to do it 😉 but I want to show how everyone can make sure one … and not how it was made originally … hope you understand my reason behind this video 🤔👍🏻 Tom
Wonder if using a hockey puck drilled out with a small step drill bit ( to allow for improfections in stick part of drill ) & rubber would conform/"stick"- hold fast to stick part of drill would work well or not.
Thanks for your feedback and question Ian 😉👍🏻 it’s this one that I have: eu.laserpecker.net/products/l1-pro-basic-the-most-compact-safe-easy-to-use-laser-engraver And I can definitely recommend this 😁🔥 Tom
Looks like my nut sack...I always have my nutsack wherever I go. People always comment on it. How smooth and supple. Rich brown tones. My nutsack definitely turns heads and satisfies a hungry mouth. Sometimes my sack starts to dry out so I rub it down with some conditioner. One day I was at a Ren Fair rubbing my sack down when a fair lady approached and offered to help. I said I would be great if she rubbed my sack so I could focus on waxing my staff. I always go in costume and dress as a wizard. I have a huge staff and just like my sack it can get worn and chaffed from much use so I wax it good. So there I was waxing my staff while she rubbed my sack. It was a great day to be sure.
