Question? the CDL12s on the Prox L Brackets? Could you do 3 boxes per Bracket? I love my CDLS but i need more height and coverage without getting Genies out. Thanks!
Inspiring brother! You having fun out there in it’s sounding great, proud night im sure. Question, how did them 4 15s do with the bass heavy tracks? Hip hop etc
@@Tim_ArtistName_Tallent in this room, the bass is already prominent. So they’ve had no issue. I tend to use my 15s for live sound and my 18s for DJ gigs. I trust and have used the 15s in a club setting plenty of times though
@@lamarcobbs1 oh ok cool that’s really good to know. I have two Yamaha dxs15mkii that sound great and even better coupled, and I been wondering how 4 total would do because they’re so easy to transport. Wondering if that would give me the power and flexibility to handle any small-medium show
@@gregoryfoster5995 For sure I do! I’m just always booked for gigs that’s near me. And then some are on the “competition” way of thinking. I do try though
@@lamarcobbs1 for sure but you have to find a big one in your area. Are you in Arkansas? Also, when are you gonna get the right fly frames for the speakers man?
The very top of your top should be pointed directly at the last row of chairs (before the delays take over). Then the delay speakers should be pointed to the back wall at head height. That’s what I would do… your mileage may vary.
Also what stage box your using? In regards to back line it all depends on quality(brand) of gear…. Better gear more money $$$ but I charge any where from 500-600 for backline: drums w\cymbals, bass, keys
@@ryandavis317 like with any other speaker set up, using an RTA mic to “EQ a Room” is only to get a flat frequency response from said speaker set up. Room EQ is just shaping the overall sound to try and get your highs, mids, and lows to be equal and flat across the entire spectrum. Every room would be different Clipping is determined by how much signal is being sent to the speakers while limiting is the amps max output. So yes clipping and limiting will still happen as it would with any speaker set up. The RTA Mic is just gonna show you what frequencies are HOT and what frequencies are low in the room you’re in. Just a tool to have consistent sound. In this gig I Ran each CDL AT +5db and the signal being sent from my board was at -10db. That goes for the delay speakers as well
@@sound4uaudiovideorecording927 spot on sir! I run mine at +5. The bottom speaker in my array(s) vary from +3 to +5. Depending on how close to the crowd the bottom speaker is
Thanks for the in depth solution for the input clipping. Question using the more downward pointing mounting hole on the CDL with a single stand, will that give you enough downward angle for good coverage with one or two speakers? Or do you need to buy the rigging hardware? Thanks
@@racesla Hey. Yes, the pole mount option is definitely enough down angle. I prefer to fly them so that I won’t have 15 degrees aiming towards the ceiling. The pole mount option is great for an auditorium or gymnasium where the seats are set up “riser style.” But for most flat seating venues, I like to focus all that high end energy directly to the people. It’s about getting less reverberation for me
From watching this video I believe that these top speakers are sensitive to input signal.. my suggestion would be is to lower the input signal on the speaker itself. Remember that the gain is not a volume it’s to control the input signal.. Set your mixing board to max with out redlining and lower the gain on the tops. Start at -6db and go down until you get the desired signal without clip, and then play with the sub signal without going over infinite, which is 0db. So you don’t get distortion.. that should give you headroom without clip. Just a suggestion..
Looks like your subs were constantly clipping, I assume that’s what the lights flashing on the front mean. Next time, try using 2 boxes per-side. No reason to reinforce sound waves to the ground.
The front LED is just a warning. Gotta go off the LED Screen on the back. I’ve been taught flashing is ok. But when it holds or that LED screen on the back says LIMIT in bold, that’s when you back off
With an odd number of subs, you get negative dB on bass. Two 18 subs would have been more than enough. Good gig. The kids looked as if they were having fun. We talk about gear on the DJ Round Table Show. Come check out an episode.
Yes I did. In each corner, there’s an L angle metal welded to the stage. I bolt 10 feet square tube poles to those. At the top of the poles are eye bolts. Just hook the shade panels to those with hooks or shackles
I agree to disagree with this video. The rigging system that he designed works well on a cheap budget. I know welders who are professional welders who are certified and can get the job done and make a rigging system just as good if not better than the price that Presonus offers for the CDL rigging bar. $599 is a chunk of money and you can buy the same grade steel and hardware and still make this rigging system cheaper that $599. I think what this guy has done is the safest system I’ve seen on a budget. I’ve done sound for years and had different systems set up and I can knock this guy for trying.
I believe this particular song was first introduced to Lillian Lilly then it was given to Marva McKinley, what if sister Marva and sister Lillian Lilly get a hold of this song on lead at the same time talking about 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Are you running a digital crossover? If not you ha e to get one. Relying on the subs built in hipass/crossover is a nono. Get yourself a dbx driverack pa2 for a few hundred bucks. It seperates all the low mids and highs for you and can do a tonof other stuff, like ring out the speakers to the room and cancel feedback etc. Good video either way!
I had a ton of connection issues with the airstream. Did the same thing with the link connecting the usb cable to the ipad. Fixed a lot of issues. This adj link is a weird lighting controller I'm sure DJ's would love them. If you didn't know you can put the adj in a mode that allows you to record 8 playbacks locally on the link without the ipad. You still have to program everything on the ipad, but you can put it into some sort of standalone mode. Nice Vid!
DJ King Vick always enjoy watching your videos and seeing you grow your business! We took a trip through Jonesboro last year and met lots of friendly people.
