Leathercrafts, DIY's, Patterns .....Everything is about Leather here.
How the Channel is sorted:
DIY Videos: These videos are about making something completely on your own. I will show you my version and how I made it, and you can turn it into your own project by adjusting whatever you want.
Free PDF Patterns: These are a bit more advanced projects. You can download the pattern and print it. That way you can recreate the item exactly.
I'm always happy to answer any questions you might have. Feel free to ask them in the video comments or the community page.
@LedermanufakturSievert well, it appears it was only dropped into my daily video mentions yesterday, but when I checked the video dropped 6 days ago (as of yesterday). So I'm not even getting the notifications on the day! RU-vid. That's the problem. And I've also tried changing the notifications I've the channel, so I might try unsubbing and re-subbing.
It is a bit strange, in the last hours i got a lot of clicks from the notifications. Even if the video is almost a week old. Feels a bit like the notifications are sent in waves and not all at the moment of the video release. I have no idea, I asked the creator support. Maybe they know what's going on. (Sorry for my bad English, obviously I'm not a native English speaker)
I understand what you mean. But the stitching isn't that complicated. Without a stitching pony it can be a bit annoying. In the end it's just something you have to get used to. If you change it to rivets make sure the border is wide enough. Maybe draw it first to find the right dimensions. If I can help you in any way feel free to let me know.
@robrichardson1284 the rivet head has a size of 5mm (0.5cm). The length depends on the leather you are using. Feel free to ask whatever question you might have.
What is the distance from the edge to the center of the snap button (i.e. center of the hole for the snap button) on the body part, and on the strap? I slowed down the video to pause and "catch" you "in the act" of measuring. I couldn't make out though if it was 25 or 30 mm, and I don't even know if - and if so, then how much - it makes a difference. The strap on the pattern is noted to be 7 cm, though prior to rounding the end of the strap I noticed you'd added a tiny bit to those 7 cm (about a couple of mm under 1 cm or so). You then used a ruler to place the whatchamacallit-rounder-offer-cutter (if it wasn't painfully obvious already: You're dealing with a non English speaking newbie here who's not familiar with the terminology (among other things...). Sorry about that!), and cut of ½ inch. ....? I get if all these silly questions seem nitpicky and I'm sure it's an NBT-sitch once you've made a bunch or two, so I'm just hoping to be excused on basis of lack of experience. Being new, and having limited resources (material and monetary), I don't want to find myself with a tiny strap that's of use to no one, and I'm already pretty sure that's exactly what I'll end up with if I just wing it. At the same time: I would really enjoy having a go and try making something larger than a miniature bag or teeny-tiny shoes in sizes 9 to 31 mm. Sorry for rambling, etc. and regardless if you have any answers for me or not: Thank you for sharing your experience and your work! Stay Safe, and Stay Sane Cheers!
Hi and welcome to my Chanel. Questions are always welcome and I will try my best to answer them. As i'm not native english as well this will be fun 😊 The distance of the hole in the body part is about 1 inch. If you cut the strap at the beginning at about 7 cm it will most definitely be too long (depending on the thickness of the book you want to use of course). And that's what you want, that way you can cut (figure out the length of) the strap when you can place the book into the cover. I left about 1 inch of the strap single layered to make it bend easily. After that place the book and check how long you like it. I ended up cutting about 1,5 cm with the half round punch. (Just use a coin instead) But that depends on your personal taste and how far you like it to go. If you aren't sure and don't want to waste your materials, make it from paper first. Glue and staple it together. Then try your book with that version, that way you will see pretty fast if you need something changed without wasting your leather. But remember, as the leather is thicker your paper version will be a tiny bit bigger than the final version.I hope I caught all the questions, if not feel free to ask in detail. I hope you have fun working on it. Stay safe and healthy.
That's exactly what i'm thinking. I got the strope and sharpen the knife every time anyways, so it doesn't really matter if it has to work like that. 😂
Hi, I ordered it from a big online shopping site. If you search for belt clip you should find a couple of different ones. In my case it was 3 pc for about 10 dollars. But you can swap the design easy to a belt loop by simply just sewing and gluing bottom and top side, just don't make the cutout in the little back plate. I hope you understand what I mean.
I hope you have fun doing it. If you are fine with sharing it, I would love to see your result. Feel free to tag me here or on Pinterest. If not that's fine of course.
Hi, the Pattern for the bag you can download for free. The link is in the description of the video. The leather I used in the video I ordered from a Etsy shop (www.etsy.com/de/shop/RealLeatherStore) . They have affordable leather sheets in different sizes and styles. And they help you with any question you might have. Have fun
Hi, the marker is a standard refillable marker. You can get them empty in a pack of 5, or at least I did. And than I filled it with black leather dye. But be careful when using the pump mechanism, make sure the tip isn't to soaked.
This was a great tutorial! Thank you for providing this! 🙏😎 I have a pretty nice looking “Colorado snake skin” design for the inner part that I’ve been meaning to use.
Amazing job I deeply enjoyed watching it! ❤ Please consider adding informations on what materials and tools you’re using, it would make recreating this tutorial a lot more easier :) Beautiful work can’t wait to see more of your creations 😊
