WHAT IS YOLINK? YoLink, by YoSmart (a US corporation based in Irvine, California), is a line of smart products for residential and commercial use, utilizing wireless technology originally intended for industrial and other large-scale, multi-site applications. This technology, LoRa, short for Long-Range, is unique to the smart home industry and provides you with benefits that include long battery life (typically between 2 and 5+ years) extreme long range (¼ mile open air), and superior wall and obstruction penetration, including concrete, masonry and metal!
WHY BUY YOLINK VS. OTHER BRANDS? We strive to provide the best smart products, with the best pricing, and the best customer support. This is more than just a slogan - our industry’s best 2-year warranty and 7000+ 5-star reviews on Amazon should speak for themselves.
Hey Ryan, so glad that you did an installation and operation video! Detailed info on this device is quite sparse on both the YoLink website as well as on Amazon. Even the product PDF on the YoLink website is poorly written, denoting its intended use. I called YoLink and the person that I spoke with didn't seem to know much at all about the product. I'm not sure if it's due to the Flowsmart being a new product or they were new to their job but they gave me the impression that it was for use with a garden hose or irrigation system and not for whole home use. I'm wondering like others that have posted... is the lithium battery user replaceable? YoLink offer so many different versions of their water valve that it's very confusing trying to figure out which one to buy. Maybe you could do a video comparison of all of them, to help others know which product would best meet their needs. Many thanks for all your helpful videos!
Hey @wscottfunk! I need to talk to the YoLink team about giving me access to the RU-vid channel so I can answer as them. But I want to make sure everyone has the info they need. The battery is not user replaceable. I think it is a standard lithuim battery, so it "might" be replaceable. But you can use the power supply if you are worried about the battery dying. But they said it has a 10 year life. The power brick will keep it running so it won't use the internal battery. As far as the different version, I think that this new all-in-one will work best for most users. Because the meter and the valve are directly integrated, plus it is cheaper. Plus it is more accurate. The only reason you won't want the all-in-one would be because the ultrasonic won't work for you (air in your lines) or you need to separate the valve from the meter. Glad you found the video helpful! I love working with the YoLink team.
@@thirdnormalform I can totally get the concern, but you can use the power adapter to run without the battery. It is a trade off, because if you use standard batteries you will have to replace them numerous times over the years and the voltage drop off is more significant.
@ThisSmartHouse Understood on tradeoffs. I bought YoLink because the two(ish) year battery life is just fine. It's just not practical to hardwire. A replaceable or rechargeable option is a must.
I have the same question. The info on the YoLink site, their product PDF and on Amazon are really lacking sufficient details. On Amazon as though it were for a water hose type fitting that you would use in your yard.
The battery is not user-replaceable, but it has a 10 year life. As I had answered for scott, you can get a power adapter that will keep from using the battery.
@@ThisSmartHouse My concern is that often these 10-year batteries don't have a 10-year life, at least not from when we purchase them. That's what I see in smoke/CO detectors (even the bigger, more reputable brands that probably don't have stale merchandise siting in stores).
@@woofinu Completely understood. But you can always keep it running with the power adapter. I would be concerned about a rechargeable battery over 10 years anyway.
@@ThisSmartHouse The main thing is that I don't want to have to remove or replace the FlowSmart every so often, whether it's 10 or 15 years. It can be a huge or unknown burden to a future homeowner who may know little about its history and operation.
AI AM SUPER CONFUSED! Something that can be so easy have been programmed to be so difficult. This should be so easy that no tutorial is necessary. I have so much money into this, I have to get it working.
It is normally easy... another thing to try... For Yolink Hub (1603), Speaker Hub (1604), or Yolink Hub 3 (1605), if you cannot connect to the WiFi。 The Yolink system currently supports only 2.4G connections. If the connection fails, please access your router settings to disable the 5G option, and enable it again once the network connection is successful.
Am I correct in thinking that this Alarm Strategy only differs from the Default strategy in that this strategy is explicitly linked (Related) to the hub?
why are you wasting the finger on just garage door opener. this finger has such potentials on other things. This shouldn't be wasted on just garage door opener. This finger is compare to the switchbot. use this for desktop computer power on or even a light switch rocker in the barn that is far away perfect for LoRa. Have your marketing reevaluate this and give it a option on the app for icon usage . Icon should be option to light bulb/switch , remote computer. etc..let it be a option ..or even a dumb button for fan. Worst part is Yolink is rank number 3 in my smart home products that works awesome and flawless. Ring, Lutron and then Yolink and I been doing this since before smart home products was household name. Get feedbacks from your loyal customers.
PS: I am currently using outdoor contact sensor for my mailbox.. IT's awesome.... Never failed for 2 years, combine with Alexa ..My mailbox is so far away.. I mean very far.. ..i can even have a video recorded on my other device Ring cameras. Bring SMTC back to $90 again
I've just bought over E500 of YoLink products and I must say I am DISGUSTED with their service and their appalling attitude. A month after ordering I had to issue an ultimatum before the goods were finally delivered and it was abundantly clear that the company were being dishonest about delivery. The order has a missing item and even though it was obvious the goods were being sold to a European customer none of the provided PSUs are European, all having American connections instead. The final insult was a bill for 20% ON TOP of the final price in import duty even though this was not obvious at the point of order - the prices quoted were in Euros so one would assume the goods were coming from inside the EU! CAVEAT EMPTOR!

Pretty misleading to completely ignore the fact that you can't make an Alexa routine to OPEN the door. You just show how to make one to close it... knowing full well people will want to also open it but that there's no ability to do that with an Alexa routine. At least have the honesty and respect to come out and disclose that the controller Alexa integration has a LOCK action. Not UNLOCK. This kind of crap just annoys customers who waste time. As if closing it is all anyone wants to do. This is useless and disingenuous.
We have three base units and six temperature/humidity sensors in various freezers at different locations I have one of the temperature/humidity sensors which has periodic problems. Battery is charged but I get an “offline” message through the app? Is there a fix for this?
I tried to activate the siren with the Yolink app on my phone. It kept saying it couldn't connect to the siren. Even though the app showed the siren was online and even though the siren was in my bedroom 30 feet away from where I was standing with my phone. I have the Hub also. Trying to turn on the suren with the phone app over and over, I was finally able to get the siren to activate. One of the times it activated the siren but also said that it could not connect to the siren. What is going on with this stuff? I pulled the batteries out of the siren and my phone app still says the siren is online. It's not, because I took the batteries out. It's most definitely NOT online.
How do I change the loud alert for open reminder? My open and close alert sounds are the quieter tones but I can’t change the loud alarm when the door remains open.
On Android, can the alarm strategy notification settings be customized, so you can have different sounds for a water leak sensor, versus a door opening sensor? So far I can only change the notification sound via system app notification settings, and every notification comes through as "YoLink Alert" with the same tone.
How can i get my water sensor to beep? I read Faq and it said that i need to go to device settings in the app but i searched the entire app and found no such thing! Anyone know? I have yolink 1.40.9

All of this is done in my app. But I cannot get Alexa to take the group "Water Leak Detector" and set an alarm when one of them closes and then send an audible alarm through ALL of my Alexa devices. I can't believe that I have to set up a routines for each sensor. And even if I did that it will only play through ONE device? I have 7 linked detectors and probably need to add 2 more.
Love this. I just purchased my first yolink hub and contact sensor for our chain link fence gate. My issue is that the terminal post on the fence and the gate post are too far apart (about 5 inches). I noticed that the magnets only work about no more than 2 inches apart. What are the things on the end of the post you used that close that gap?
@@YoLinkbyYoSmart you don't seem to make much effort to answer any questions here!~ I notice a bunch of questions, and you only posted on this one THREE MONTHS AGO!!!!!!! If you don't want to bother answering any questions people may have about this product, WHY do you bother posting videos? Pretty crappy customer service! So far, I am not very happy with this products. I does NOT do what you say in the video. I am very close to returning this trash! I cannot get it to play ANY sounds on my Android phone! and the hub will only say the voice alert, and thats it, it won't play any other sound when my vibration sensor is triggered. This will probably be ignored!
Almost had 4 windows sensors and the 130dB alarm all set to go, but I could get the Stay setting to avoid triggering the siren for some reason. How do I simply start over completely, do I need to delete my account?
The zip code is set as the location, so when you choose to activate ‘effected when away’, does that mean you have to leave the area of the zip code for it to start working?
I would like yolink to have a nicer interface so that it can be controlled from a tablet and that they would also create a keypad like any other system and could integrate a cell phone module for backup.
I am excited by the possibilities for my business with yolink products. I purchased the speaker Hub and siren. I thought it was able to play custom voice commands through the speaker siren. Either in if then automation or done manually. It appears that the customizable messages are only played through the speaker hub.. and not through the speaker siren itself. What I want to do is use the device to communicate with customers by sending custom messages, commands or Warnings through the siren speaker. for instance, a motion detector is triggered. After 2 minutes.. the speaker siren plays an audible message.. welcome to such and such business. am I correct in my determination that your link speaker Hub and siren do not enable me to do this? Thank you
