Today the image of the Black Hole in the Milky Way appeared. I was shocked. I had seen the exact same image in meditation several years ago, when I was going through the exact same thing Marina is talking about in this song (spiritual awakening). I realized that what that Black Hole represents is this experience that was forcing me to “surrender all control, and everything I know,” which was swallowing all my past experiences of life from my mind. I had “tried to go back to who I was;” I literally had an experience “looking in the mirror where I did not recognize my face.” I realized, wanting to go back to who I was, “I was lying to myself, but at what cost?!” For a while my world was like a void. Then, just as Marina sings, I realized, “Now I got the freedom, no need to be sad. All I ever wanted I already had.” Because that Black Hole swallowed my past in my mind, I was able to choose selectively what I wanted to think, and recreate my life in the way that was true to myself, to my soul. Because I never got the chance to choose my life from the moment I was born; I had no idea what to think, and all these past thoughts that I had assumed were true that I learned incorrectly resulted in so much suffering had finally got swallowed up by the Black Hole! Now I have a new life. And the Black Hole is still there if I need it to swallow up anything I make in my mind that I don’t want anymore! This song makes me realize this is a universal part of being human that is within us that we can all experience!
