I received my first set of shipped plants recently - similar experiences. However, I repotted after 3-4 hours of receiving...of the lot, the ones I was worried about are doing well, and those that I was sure of need attention - so, I trimmed off the drooping tips, a lot of leaves dropped...so, I built a makeshift greenhouse with a foldable clothes hanger and plastic sheet of a refrigerator packing..." plant ICU".... keeping it misted every few hours....and dappeld morning sun... should work.
Hi.i made a mistake,few days back, i purchased calathea which came bare root and i potted the very day it came,now the leaves are curled and droopy.please help.today i checked its roots a little part of the roots was rotten.what can i do now to revive it.please help it will be of great help😭
If the roots are rotting, wash them under running water first and then chop off the rotten parts. Make sure the scissors or shears are properly sanitized. Prepare a fungicide solution and dip the plant with the healthy roots in it. The fungicide solution should be half the recommended strength and ensure to use distilled ot filtered water. Leave the plant in the solution until it regains strength. Post that, transfer to fresh soil in a new sanitized pot. Hope that helps 🙂

We have encountered with a similar situation this month while buying a Syngonium Erythrophyllum from a popular online site. However they packed it carefully, we lost half of it's stem, in that way, happened most probably due to lack of sunlight.
Thank you for watching the video. I am glad you liked it. Plants purchased online often die or suffer due to poor packaging or delay in transit. The stem can be revived, even if all the leaves die off. Just check the roots and let the plant sit in water or soil for some days, it should revive within a few days, if not months.

thanks for your video...i am a beginner. my first time ever growing a palm. my palm is robellini phoenix (pygmy date palm) i got it from store 3 weeks back. so far its been good. I have it in my balcony. i see it has white scales on the underside of leaf and the center part where the leave grow out from the frond. i can scratch it. I also some thread like things growing at the base of the leaves? is my plant infected? can you please help?
Leaves of Pygmy date palms often have tiny white spots or waxy deposits. While this is absolutely normal, slightly raised white spots can indicate scale infection. Also, the thread like things that you mentioned are fibers that grow at the base of the leaves crown. This is also absolutely normal and a characteristic of this plant.
Hey thanks for the tip..I knew soap solution, but scrubbing with the brush is good idea... my areca palm is having same problem will try this ..let me know how frequently we can do this to get rid of the pests
Thanks! I hope it works for you. Also, depending on the extent of the infestation, you can repeat this treatment weekly or on alternate weeks unless the infestation is cleared.
@@divyamajji did you wash the leaves the next morning? Also, please ensure you perform this at night. Personally I haven't faced this problem. However, in case you may dilute the soapy solution a bit more.
@Nimisha, this may be due to number of reasons, like cold drafts during winters, excessive exposure to harsh sunlight or may be even because of some pest infestation. Try to place your plant indoors during winter and see if you notice any changes. If not, you can treat it with an insecticide.
