Do you know if scalextric has any interest in making additional track sections? I feel like we could use a variety of chicanes and maybe curve lane changes.
I got a dumb question. Man cause I haven't seen anything about this, but is there any kind of the dry Lube. that someone would lube the slot with on the track? You know, the slot on the track or the or your know. You may put and wax on your pen or t. I'll go find a newer video to ask this to I don't know if you actually, gonna see a 3-year-old video comment. Thanks for the content. The lint rollers great-great idea.ah, that's that worth great big old black strk comes off this sucks a dirt right off The tire.😮
4:27 this is the best. Let me explain: I have an old Polistil set, I would have liked to buy a Ninco powerbase to replace my 30 years old trasformer. But, Ninco stopped slotting, so, by buying this powerbase, 75€, or the entire set, roughly 100€, I have a new trasformer that can power old toy cars and hobbist slots each. Very nice move. I also point, Carrera Go! cars may be completely compatible. This set confirms itself a nice starter pack, especially for us who have never knew Scalextric and too poor for thoose gorgeous Carrera sets. Understand, the Policar brand hits hard the heart to us southern europeans, we had Polistil/Policar and Ninco, you had Scalextric, nice that there's more than a brand that makes cheap 32s
Here in Italy are available replicas of the old Polistil cars, 3d printed, and this set costs about 100€. Perfect to run on it. And, if this is not enough, when Polistil still was Polistil, there was the aftermarket 10W transformer, so, be realistic, let's say that this kind of sets can be converted into proper slotcar racing. What's slotcar hobby if not the extremization of something's born as a kid toy?
9V, the same output of the old Polistil, undoubtly interesting and unexpected. Old Polistil sets had about 4W of power, so, this is another point why they were so cheap, enough to be gifted to kids. Otherwise, another interesting feature for whom want to restore their old Polistil/Policar track, instead of actually starting slotting. Is not a mistery that if there would be an industrial made revival of Polistil, I wouldn't watch so much videos on RU-vid, what didn't excited me of this Policar set is the compatibility of the track itself with Polistil, or Ninco for whom are into the hobby, but surely this is the only 100€ 1/32 set
RevoSlot does it right, 2 or 3 painted cars and a white kit. If none of the painted ones tickle my fancy, I opt to the white kit and save a few bucks to throw at some paint and "make it my own". If there is a problem with doing a white kit (to me) it comes down to decals. In the past I went to the Aussie guy Pattos, got a bit pricey. I've tried some of the European companies and never found any with a good assortment of 1/32 scale stuff.
The issue over multiple liveries is that they increase the cost of a model. For the cost each car are 4 times -- for example -- of the copyright issues for each of 4 liveries. As a consumer I totally agree with you that more liveries leads to colourful fields and more choice, but let's appreciate the manufacturers' increased costs.
It would be very interesting to see the likes of Carrera and Scalextric releasing "white kits" of some of their cars, especially those no longer in production.
Most of the Scalextric cars that are out of production cannot be made anymore because many of the older molds have been destroyed. White kits from Scalextric and Carrera I don't think will ever be sold again (certainly not in the US)
Where are the Nissan Skylines and GT-Rs? Like the one on your shirt? This is why I can’t do slot cars, as fun as i know it is. I wanted to get a Carrera or Scalextric set for me and my boys. Everything is American or European. I like them but my favorite cars are the Nissans.
Thanks Dave - this is all very much cranking up for the holiday season now. Where did our month of September drive by to? With Revo then is it a law of diminishing returns as, with the Alfa, I think that will be 11 liveries in total over just a couple of years. Yes, they must be selling double or treble to what is a small customer base but how many of us will have all 11 of these?
Power taps are used to make sure a track has good power continuity. The type of track they are used on isn’t relevant. Digital analog tracks can bothe have power loss because of track gaps or track length.
Best T I have bought this year is the limited edition 963 one from the Porsche shop at Le Mans, had to Q for half an hour 😂 Bit expensive, €60 but half went to Porsche chosen charity so that's ok.
I was admiring how cool the NASCAR "War Wagons" were with the upper level command center and it struck me that those would make a really cool scenery accessory modeled in 1/32 scale. They would make a nice alternative to one's pit lane scenery, in place of the pit garages sold by Carrera or Scalextric, especially if your layout is tight for space.
I know I'm a little late, but I found out a website was "Selling" retired Carrera f1 products (Full price btw) And they would GIVE you a T-SHIRT of a PHOTO of THE SLOT CAR. The reason I found out about this is because it said "Select size".
Hey, how's it going? I hope you're doing good. I feel like I bought all the wrong stuff and I'm pretty frustrated. I got 55 feet of Carrera.go. No, no I was just trying to keep these cars on the track.
David, your health is the most important element to your life. Please ensure that you take care of yourself for you, your family and us, those who care for you. Wishing you only the best.
I wish sw Florida had as much slot car action as California. Sw has two locations a hobby shop with plastic track and a wood track closer to central Florida.
