Welcome to Pepper Geek! We're crazy about peppers. Whether you like it hot, or not, peppers can bring life to almost any meal. Plus, it is one of the most fulfilling hobbies!
This is the video equivalent of word salad. So much content for what might be the easiest vegetable for seed saving... Cut open, wipe loose seeds, dry on coffee filter, done.
Living in a hot country where we don't get cold weather at all, all year round (weather never goes bellow 19-20°C and as hot as 30-35°C) how would you bring pepper plant back to life after producing?
So I just heard that you shouldn't ferment super spicy peppers, like over 500k, because the bacteria can't handle it, so the ferment won't actually work. Is that accurate???
Fun fact. If you ever get pepper in your eye, the best way to get rid of it fast is hair. If you have long hair, grab your hair and rub it on your eye. If you don't have long hair, grab the nearest person and rub your eye on their head. This only works with human hair.
@@RT-wq8bd I also grow two habanero plants. I gather only one pod for now and it was very spicy (I dont think other pods will be ready the climate here in Normandy France is not very helpfull)
@@brandyburgess8267 super unhealthy for you because of the way it’s grown with chemicals and the way processed from soy and canola beans to oil is nasty. Look into it!
I think my favorite pepper that I grew successfully this year that I had never grown before was the Monkey Face. It works really well for salsa as well as hot sauce.
Just made it now and it was delicious! It came out almost the right thickness for a salsa verde. Anyway thanks for teaching me! Now I have an idea of a base and it's going to be fun bingeing your videos and creating new and spicy sauces!!
I've always picked my fruits as soon as they start to ripen, remove the stems and then let them ripen off of the plant. I feel like this is kept me from running into a lot of pest problems as far as the actual fruit goes
With all those different peppers I didn't think you needed black pepper, however black pepper and even other kind of peppers help your body assimilate nutrients.
