Fascinating stuff. We lived at La Rocque between 1976 and 1979 in a Bank owned house behind La Vielle Forge on the Coast Road. We knew the de la Hayes that ran the Post Office at the time and mentioned in the film. Happy days!
it would of been better to show the history of Jersey exhibition than Hatched,Matched and Dispatched, as that has now been taken down for the Great War exhibition.
As a former safety officer i can say that when working on a building site which is what you were doing, then hard hat etc are to be used. Also ear defenders when using load tools like a hilt drill. All sites come under the safety rules.
if you care to read the health and safety laws you will see that helmets are not needed due to no one working above head hight.high vis vests are only need where there is vehicles present and apart from saftey boots(you can get safety trainers too) all other safety equipment is was supplied.it is up to the person doing the work if he choses to were goggles, gloves, ear protection, face mask ect. but thanks any way for your lack of comment on the exhibition. the exhibit is still on by the way
I am a Jersey man I left Jersey at the age of 18 in 1968 and I now find your channel. It is wonderful and teaching me things I never knew I thank you very much Trev.
