I started catching redfish as a kid in Florida and now I catch them in the Chesapeake Bay. I miss snook fishin' but I am okay with reds, flounder and trout. Hopefully I'll figure out the stripers too.
Handlining sounds way more serious (risky) than a fly rod for these powerful fish. Just the safety factor. Has to be an absolute blast on a fly rod though.
Great place and fishery, but partner with outfits that treat the local folks right, I fished Pt. San Carlos for a week and heard some pretty crappy stories.
Krissy, while I never met your father, I am a huge fan of his show and I'll never forget the day I heard of his passing. I was on my way out the door to go to work but I sat down and watched an episode of Spanish Fly that I had on VHS. I was late to work and when I told my Boss, he said "Wow... that's hard to understand why the lord would want him in the prime of his life... We sat and talked about Jose and the many famous guests he had on the show. I'm so happy to see you doing well and may you always keep your father's memories close. From a Landlubber in Missouri.
Now made in china with rubbish qc dont waste your time or money ive had to return 3 pairs for lense flaws the day they arrived in the mail. Costa not what they once were
I like my Costas but extremely disappointed in my wifes waterwoman2 Costas the rubber piece for the nose bridge fell off and she lived with it but now the rubber piece on the frame now came unattached and hangs...so disappointed in these $200+ sunglasses wouldn't expect that probably change brands like to maui Jim's unfortunately
I moved back closer to home from Louisiana and did a quick search for "fly shops" in my area. Little did I know how close I was to Schultz Outfitters. Hands down the coolest shop I have been in and the coolest group of guys that run that place. Mike and his team are always putting GREAT events that have a major impact on the industry! I honestly cant say enough good things about this shop!
Other then Tuna consumption much prefer fighting a Marlin, or on light tackle, Sailfish, but the days of Marlin off Bimini appear to have also vanished as the corrupt Bahamian government caved in to developers and with plans to spend 80 million on a new passenger terminal at the South Bimini airfield it will only get worse. Man is his own worst enemy.
Thank you for the extra care, attention and work that went into this production. Nice to see quality production done with a passion that matches man's passion for fly fishing. They go together well, don't they?
Fished with Mike before he owned a fly shop. He is a great person and his shop is awesome. So wonderful to see the person he has become. Thank you Mike. Best of luck to you in all your ventures.
So sad they sold out to Luxottica.... Costa, you built a legendary brand, and then sold out for shiny things with no meaning. At the end of the day, I get it... but it's sad
Hi @havenbanks5778. Thank you for expressing your opinion. We actually had our parent company for many years, Essilor, merge with Luxottica so the decision wasn't solely on our shoulders. We've actually made enormous strides in R&D to come up with products like the Grand Catalina frame you see in the video above due to this merger. Additionally, at Costa we know the importance of staying true to your roots and what made your brand successful for many years, which is why we have stuck with our mission to build the best sunglasses on the water and protect what we love. Our brand team is also still located in Florida, our birthplace, in a new location in Jupiter. Please stop by our office if you are in the area and we would love to show you our new product line.
Awesome video! Congrats Mr. Shultz! Ive known about your shop for a couple years now, youre not that far from me. I need to make it down there soon. Probably should keep my money in Michigan and stop giving it to Brian :)
I absolutely loved my Costa glasses… Till the nose par cracked and then came off…. And was told replacements weren’t available…. Now Iv’e got an amazing pair of $300 glasses I can’t wear or repair - thanks Costa! 🤙🏻
This is exactly what "living your best life," means. I know I am very late to comment here but I just had the mighty algorithm bring it to my attention. I hope you are rocking it on the water!
