OMG! Seeing your oldest son almost made me cry. I came across your channel in 2019 as a scared mom who was finally responding to God's call to homeschool. I binge watched (and rewatched) all your videos for almost a year which helped me gain the confidence and planning ideas to start homeschooling my daughter. Now four years later I am in awe and admiration of how your sweet children have grown in wisdom and stature. I hate that RU-vid has not been promoting your channel like it should. I haven't been getting them on my feed. I manually come over and visit. Keep up what you are doing! You all are making a kingdom difference and the Lord will reward you for how you are inspiring and helping families like mine.
I am very new to your channel, meaning this is the first video I watched of yours. When you say you work with a book as your spin for school, do you have a video how you go about that?
I'm new to your channel and love this! I was wondering how you *schedule* the history books? Do you read a little bit from all of them at the same time/in parallel? Or do you plan to read them in a particular sequence?
May you please do a video on some books your reading and some of your favorite books. So far I have read two books I love that popped on your videos and i absolutely love it. Lastly how do you go about your book selection? I feel like I don’t ever pick good books 😳
I have always stirred towards a non-curriculum homeschool life, yet still have trouble understanding how. So I end up purchasing a full curriculum per subject. I'd love for you give an elaborate video showing it looks like. I've watched all your video, love them but can't seem to get it down. Is it strictly reading that the kids are doing?
Wow! My son and I watched this video. He is preparing for 7th grade too. We are very impressed with these resources, especially the history! I like that bible! Thank you for sharing!!!😊
I love color code too 😅 my oldest is blue, middle is purple, youngest is green. We have the same Bible for my 10yr old! We have the blue one with the lion on it. He loves that it's not a "babyish" kids Bible too.
This is the most honest update and I'm so thankful for it. I felt like I was listening to myself in a mirror with some of the things you shared (and I don't identify with most people online). The weight of what you've been carrying....and grieving. I feel that. I felt that. I am thankful another homeschool mom with kiddos around the same age shared because some days feel like Im just a lot with how much is going on. Our bodies reflect that and I'd love to know if you've found a consistency to your own disciplines for taking care of yourself. It's tricky to find that balance.
We use apologia for science as well and are in the middle of the astronomy book. It added to the eclipse experience for us. We love G&B grammar workbooks. We usually skip the readers because we have our own list of books to read.❤😊
What age are you using Astronomy with? I am considering buying the Astronomy book and the Human Body book to use second hand for my 10yr old. Science is his special interest (ND) I have heard a few people say Apologia Astronomy is a little "young" but others have said it's not.
@@samanthawoods615 Hello! Science is one of our family subjects. Currently we have age 8-14. I would say it could be used for younger or older…it just depends on how deep you want to dive. I would recommend it for a 10 year old.
Thank you for sharing! I will have my first high schooler in 2024-2025 so I’ve been in the process of making curriculum choices. It’s been tough. I have a 4 year plan but need to finalize some things for 9th grade.
We've loved Apologia's General Science. It's well organized, easily to stay on track, but still flexible. I love the text book too. It's up to date and concise in TOO much info for the average reader, but also thorough in content. Thank you for the Bible Curriculum! I tend not to tie in academics and bible, but how they split it up looks like a great way to incorporate it into the day. :)
Friiiend !!!!! Thank you so much for sharing - I’ve been struggling in the older years .. I just hope we are doing enough - am I giving enough - I try so hard to give my words to the lord .. - Thank you for sharing ! Your sharing is like a support system for me, it always has been. Thank you for all your hard work you are the best 🥰🖤
Just found your channel and it’s a breath of fresh air. You are using some resources not typically seen on other homeschool RU-vid channels. Thank you!
Thank you for this video. Do you have one that explains your method for Spanish? Also, I’m very interested in teaching my children study skills. Can you go into how that worked out, what you did/used to grow that skill. I think that was the number one struggle for me when I went to college. Public school was so easy, teachers didn’t require much if anything, then I went to college and I struggled BIG TIME because I had no study skills.
Those historical graphic novels look amazing, I bet my son would like reading them. Thank you for sharing, just stumbled across your channel and looking forward to watching more!
Those graphic novels look so interesting! I’m thinking my visual learner would love that. I’m going to start searching for some to go with our year in ancient history.
I love watching your videos because you always seem to find hidden treasures as far as books and resources. You share things that I don’t see in so much of some other homeschool channels. I am actually using that Bible curriculum with our Sunday School class at church. Those historical graphic novels look awesome! Thank you for sharing.
