hello ray, great music you do, i'm the silent majority who never comment on videos, but feel i should, given how many times i have watched and learned to try to play fingerstyle better , ive been playing for 30 years mainly the the electric shredding always looking for songs to improve my other side i must have watched the burt bach. this guy...you did a hundred times. this impro your doing is wonderful...im making my way through your channel. all the best Dean Rawson 49 yrs from the uk.
Hello Dean, thank you so much for your nice comment. So glad you like Burt B's This Guy's in Love. I am glad you got something out of my channel. All the best to you!
@@robocepeck1814 Thank you, Rob, very, very much for taking the time to listen. I found a new place to live where it is quiet and I can do some recording!! Take care, and good to hear from you.
I know the feeling, though I must say my upstairs neighbors are not as bad as you describe, as far as I can hear only the child stomps from time to time. But at least at night they settle down. So he plays video games on speakers at high volume all night? That's not ok, you could call the police for that in Europe if he does it at night. Meanwhile I recommend a white noise machine, helps to mask some of the noise. Nice channel btw
The Amtrak California Zephyr is operated by Chicago Burlington and Quincy Rio grande and western pacific and it departs Chicago’s union station goes through Iowa Nebraska Colorado Utah Nevada and Northern California
This was incredible, and the scenery at the end tied it into earlier times. I am so sorry that you are going through that living situation. My positive thoughts are with you.
Why are you complaining? At least you have a floor over your head instead of open sky like a lot of people. You don't seem to appreciate what a friend has done for you either. You look like an incredibly miserable person. How you play such beautiful music with that attitude is beyond my understanding. Of course it could all be a joke.
Makes me wish my family still had our old rental house. It had 3 bedrooms with a small kitchen and living room and a bathroom along with a separate garage and small garden shed. A small backyard with a big shade maple tree which you wouldn’t have had to rake up we would do all that along with cutting the grass. And the best part we would have been neighbors across the street and Tyler would be next door as well.
Hey Ray, just stumbled across this. Absolutely beautiful! I’m adding this to the repertoire of a new band my son and I are kicking off, Son of a Gun and Son. I listened to Eddie sing this on my parent’s turntable, 101 times. I’ve always loved it. Years ago, on a ski trip with my high school class to Brianhead, Utah… Some local kids from St. George came to party with us. One of the young guys there picked up a guitar and played this song. it has so many great memories for me. Thank you for breaking out these great licks. I’ll send you the video after Spencer and I get it figured out.
Hey, Ray, a fellow guitar traveler here, Rick Lucchesi, if you remember from school...just subbed your channel. Glad to see we're both still playing! I'm going to work through watching your videos. I'm also working on a history of music timeline for my teenage students. It started as a few questions from them, and then I realized the only way to really explain the history of music is to draw out our history from the Fall in the Garden to the Cross, and then to today, including the eras of music. To me, it's the only thing that explains why we all play music, or to rephrase, if art is the expression of the human condition, then what is the human condition, what condition are we humans in? I thought you might also appreciate the idea. Great seeing you again.
@@musiquemaquer Hi Rick! Wonderful to hear from you! Alley Cat is really the first tune that started my fingerpicking journey. It evolved from there etc. I still am enthusiastic about music as I was. Thanks for subbing. I got a variety of stuff on my channel. I think the ole Gregorian chants are cool. William Byrd, The Masses is enjoyable. So much to say about music and the need to play it and create. Thanks again for reaching out!!
Beautiful work. Thanks for breaking it down. I'm good with chords but I'm terrible at voicings.. especially being a pick player I make up for lack of right hand ability by picking like a madman trying to mimic fingerpicking. This is a good challenge for me. That guitar sound so darn good btw!
One trouble with the Desert Wind between LV and SLC was that it ran overnight to catch-up with the California Zephyr. The scenery between LV and SLC is so beautiful, with many canyons and tunnels, maybe it should be a daytime trip integrated with vans and buses to national parks and other recreational centers. There are no population centers between Provo, UT and Las Vegas, NV, but it could be promoted as a way to enjoy outdoor activities and make a direct connection with Brightline. Thanks to the TRAX commuter train, this once a day train could be serviced in Utah without going all the way to Los Angeles,. or it could run overnight from Los Angeles to Vegas.
Hi Ray. Nice body of work. I live in Lamoille County, Vermont on a feeder stream of the Lamoille River. History here is vague on the origin of the name Lamoille. Anyone there in your research that has a better handle on the oribin of the name ? Thanks for the good work.
Oh my, very good of you to write. What a stunning arrangement that I have always enjoyed playing. I met Christopher in Vegas. Great chatting with him. I bought most all his albums. What an impeccable player and thanks to Jack terrific arrangements on many. Thank you, you made my day.
Maestro le consulto, tiene el tutorial de Cherokee versión Chet Atkins ????? Le agradecería si lo puede subir, lo sigo siempre muy bueno lo que hace, muchas gracias 🙏
Thank you for posting this Ray. If I had another chance to talk to my grandfather I would probably talk his ear off. He was a wealth of historical knowledge. His soul lives on through these videos.
My younger sister was born the same day this locomotive came to its resting place in Mendota Illinois. Our late grandfather Steve Shutt was one of the key persons involved in this operation. I remember going to the museum and climbing around the locomotive and caboose several times as a young boy. It's so cool to see this footage many years later.
Yes, Steve was in charge of the locomotive and rolling stock with the Mendota Museum. He broke his wrist in Montgomery on the second day. He slipped in the snow but he climbed aboard and toughed it out all the way to Mendota.
